    No published studies have examined the community service priorities and harm reduction perspectives of unhoused people in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We conducted a mixed methods pilot study of 56 unhoused people at community locations in Santa Fe to: (1) assess the current prevalence of chronic medical conditions and substance use; (2) highlight community service priorities; and (3) explore views of innovative community harm reduction programs. Our first hypothesis was there would be high prevalence of chronic medical conditions, for which we found high prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, substance use disorders, chronic pain, and hypertension. Our second hypothesis was that we would find top community service priorities of housing, food, and health care. We found long- and short-term housing and food, but not healthcare, top priorities. Our third hypothesis was that we would find mixed support for community harm reduction initiatives like managed alcohol programs and overdose prevention centers. We found positive, not mixed, support for these community harm reduction programs among Santa Fe's unhoused. Unhoused study participants ranged in age 27-77\u2009years, with lifetime years unhoused from less than one year to 63\u2009years. Study limitations included small sample size, convenience sampling, and descriptive results. Policies and program initiatives supporting additional Housing First options, managed alcohol programs, and overdose prevention centers in the Santa Fe community are clearly indicated to increase engagement with this vulnerable population.     Aging is accompanied by frontal lobe and non-dominant hemisphere recruitment that supports executive functioning, such as inhibitory control, which is crucial to all cognitive functions. However, the spatio-temporal sequence of processing underlying successful inhibition and how it changes with age is understudied. Thus, we capitalized on the temporal precision of event-related potentials (ERPs) to assess the functional lateralization of N200 (conflict monitoring) and P300 (inhibitory performance evaluation) in young and healthy older adults during comparably performed successful stop-signal inhibition. We additionally used temporal principal components analysis (PCA) to further interrogate the continuous spatio-temporal dynamics underlying N200 and P300 activation for each group. Young adults demonstrated left hemisphere-dominant N200, while older adults demonstrated overall larger amplitudes and right hemisphere dominance. N200 activation was explained by a single PCA factor in both age groups, but with a more anterior scalp distribution in older adults. The P300 amplitudes were larger in the right hemisphere in young, but bilateral in old, with old larger than young in the left hemisphere. P300 was also explained by a single factor in young adults but by two factors in older adults, including distinct parieto-occipital and anterior activation. These findings highlight the differential functional asymmetries of conflict monitoring (N200) and inhibitory evaluation and adaptation (P300) processes and further illuminate unique age-related spatio-temporal recruitment patterns. Older adults demonstrated lateralized recruitment during conflict processing and bilateral recruitment during evaluation and adaptation, with anterior recruitment common to both processes.     Children that undergo intraocular surgery have an exaggerated postoperative response compared to adults that can result in significant postoperative challenges and reduced post-operative visual acuity. Rabbits were used as an animal model for investigating aging differences, treatment options, and surgical techniques for anterior chamber surgical interventions due to similarities in anterior chamber size and decreasing postoperative response with age. In our study, juvenile and adult rabbits underwent lensectomy with intraocular lens (IOL) insertion to determine how ocular RNA transcripts and proteins change with age. Rabbits underwent lensectomy with IOL insertion, and aqueous humor (AH) was collected immediately prior to surgery and at the peak of the postoperative response on post-operative day 3. Proteins related to coagulation and inflammation were assessed using targeted mass spectrometry. In addition, the cornea and iris/ciliary body tissues were dissected, and transcripts analyzed using RNA sequencing. While clinically, juvenile rabbits have greater fibrin formation following intraocular surgery compared to older rabbits, this change does not appear to be related to relative abundance levels of coagulation and inflammatory proteins in the AH. Gene transcript levels from a variety of immune response and inflammatory pathways reflected significant increases when comparing operated to unoperated ocular tissues, indicating the significant impact that surgery has on each ocular structure.
