    Diabetes is a metabolic disorder comprising of high glucose level in blood over a prolonged period in the body as it is not capable of using it properly. The severe complications associated with diabetes include diabetic ketoacidosis, nonketotic hypersmolar coma, cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic renal failure, retinal damage and foot ulcers. There is a huge increase in the number of patients with diabetes globally and it is considered a major health problem worldwide. Early diagnosis of diabetes is helpful for treat- ment and reduces the chance of severe complications associated with it. Machine learning algorithms (such as ANN, SVM, Naive Bayes, PLS-DA and deep learning) and data mining techniques are used for detecting interesting patterns for diagnosing and treatment of disease. Current computational methods for diabetes diagnosis have some limitations and are not tested on different datasets or peoples from dif- ferent countries which limits the practical use of prediction methods. This paper is an effortto summarize the majority of the literature concerned with machine learning and data mining techniques applied for the prediction of diabetes and associated challenges. This report would be helpful for better prediction of disease and improve in understanding the pattern of diabetes. Consequently, the report would be helpful for treatment and reduce risk of other complications of diabetes

    Irreversible sorption of carbofuran by moderately acidic soil amended with biochar

    An ecofriendly technique to on farm burning of biomass by making biochar from agricultural waste was provided. Characteristic studies of biomass and biochar such as SEM, Ultimate and proximate analysis, pH, Cation exchange capacity, Water holding capacity, Electrical conductivity, Soil organic matter and Dry matter production were examined. Adsorption and desorption of carbofuran in soil were studied in batch experiment mode. From the experimental studies, it was observed that pH, Cation exchange capacity, Water holding capacity, Electrical Conductivity, Soil organic content and dry matter production increases with biochar addition. Adsorption Studies show that carbofuran adsorbed with control is 0.45 mg/g whereas with 3%BC it was 6.375 mg/g and desorption studies show that with 3% biochar carbofuran desorption is less. Hence Capsicum Annuam Biochar could be one of the promising option for improving the soil health as well as for adsorbing the pesticides

    Effect of Alkaline hydrolysis of jute / polyester union fabric on low stress mechanical properties

    Hydrophobicity of polyester is the main problem being faced in the processing of polyester from fibre to yarn formation stages. Manufacturing of polyester with improved moisture properties have been tried but the static problem of polyester is not answered by the research. Alkaline hydrolysis is a more versatile process for polyester with commercial name as Weight reduction process will not only impart the silk like feeling but also enhances the moisture management properties. On the other hand, Jute is being a natural fibre, will be undergoing ʻwoollanisationʼeffect following treatment with Caustic. In this research, a passionate attempt is made to treat the polyester /jute union fabrics with an aim to improve the low-stress mechanical properties. Two groups of union fabrics are considered for the study and are hydrolyzed in alkali medium with identical conditions. The products were characterized for KES-F data and results were analysed statistically

    Synthesis of piperidine-4-one Derivative Containing Dipeptide: An Acetyl cholinesterase and β-secretase Inhibitor

    Abstract: Background: With the goal of developing Alzheimer's disease therapeutics, we have designed and synthesized novel piperidone fused dipeptide (DPPS) derivatives possessing dual action such as acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and beta-amyloid peptide (Aβ) aggregation inhibition. Designed peptide was synthesized by solid phase peptide synthesis using FMOC chemistry protocol and characterized by mass spectroscopy. Methods: The amino acid sequence in peptide was analyzed by LC-MS-MS. In silico docking analysis was carried out using GLIDE software. The docking score using GLIDE was found to be -7.88 against AChE and -9.74 against BACE1 enzyme. In vitro enzyme inhibition assay was carried out for AChE enzyme and BACE1 enzyme. Results: The IC50 values of AChE inhibition and BACE1 of DPPS were found to be 0.4796 μM/ml and 0.0154 μM/ml, respectively. The correlation of in silico and in vitro results showed that DPPS possessed a greater ability to inhibit BACE1 enzyme

    The gut enzymes are released in response to intake of meal, those are GLP-I (glucagon link peptide-I) & GIP (glucose-dependent insulin tropic polypeptide) along with DPP-4(Dipeptidyl peptidase-4). GLP-I has vital role in control of glucose levels and it may also has capacity reduce body weight and it can manage some micro & macro-vascular complications. Unfortunately it has very shorter half-life 1-2 min, and eventually it was degraded by DPP-4 enzyme. Therefore GLP-I has ineffective to perform its tasks. To overcome this incidence essential to inhibit DPP-4 enzyme is benefited in diabetics and in non diabetics suffering with micro, macro vascular complications. Ubiquitous Dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP) - 4 has pleiotropic effects because it is widely distributed other than intestine. DPP-4 enzyme inhibition has a promising effect on glycemic control. DPP-4 inhibition is also involved in the improvement of non-glycemic effects as directly or indirectly the DPP-4 enzyme is linked with some pathological conditions of particular organs, such as DPP-4 is linked with the intestinal secretion of triglycerides, and DPP-4 is expressed in the glomerulus in uncontrolled diabetics which in turn leads to nephritis. DPP-4 release strongly correlates with adipocyte size, potentially representing an important source of DPP-4 in obesity. DPP-4 inhibition produces an anti-inflammatory activity because the activity of DPP-4 results in reduced production of cytokines including interleukins and interferon-G. All these anti-inflammatory agents are inhibited by the DPP-4 enzyme which can lead to pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases and provokes atherosclerosis & psoriasis. Serum sodium and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels are also regulated by inhibition of the DPP-4 enzyme and which can produce vascular protection & regulates blood pressure. Teneligliptin is a recently developed oral DPP-4 inhibitor indicated for the management of T2DM in adults along with diet and exercise. Teneligliptin is recently available in India and is also available in combination with other oral hypoglycemic agents at affordable prices. This review is aimed at exploring the status of teneligliptin with emphasis on its glycemic effects and non-glycemic clinical benefits associated with increasing GLP-1 & GIP

    In India, we get some news like a child has struck up in a bore well, and it takes more than16 to 24 hours save a child. Borewell accidents are common because of uncovered openings of bore well at farms and home surroundings. Dragging the child out from the narrow hole of bore well is not easy. It is difficult to protect children who fell into a bore well by using exhausting methods, because a child who falls into a borehole has no gaps between the walls of the bore well. In this study paper, we analyze the problems associated with the bore well rescue operations. We also present details of various existing robot systems available. Along with this, we discuss how robotics and automation could be a possible solution for this entire problem

    A Review On Surface Displacements And Strains Using Digital Image Correlation Techniques

The most useful and efficient tool put in practice with the implementation of advances in technology to measure displacements and strains on the region of interest of the object is full field optical measurement technique. This technique is a non-contact optical method known as digital image correlation (DIC), which compares the images captured before and after deformation and stores in a computer for the measurement of displacements and strains. These can be determined considering the displacement of speckles deposited on the surface of object.     Investigation on Performance Enhancement of Fly ash-GGBFS Based Graphene Geopolymer Concrete

    In this study, the properties of fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) combination based geopolymer concrete containing graphene oxide are investigated. The effects of graphene oxide (GO) addition and GGBFS inclusion on the compressive strength, modulus of elasticity of geopolymer concrete were investigated in this paper. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) was conducted to provide a thorough insight into the microstructure's characterization. Rapid chloride permeability test (RCPT) was also conducted to estimate the chloride ion resistance of graphene-modified geopolymer concrete. The experimental data revealed that the geopolymerization products were detected to be extra compact, and the inside porosity was decreased due to the inclusion of GO. However, enhanced compressive strength can be achieved in the geopolymer concrete after the incorporation of GGBFS, and this effect is more prominent for containing GO. The SEM images indicated that graphene oxide altered the morphology of geopolymer concrete from a porous nature to a significantly pore filled morphology with increased compressive strength. Besides, better relationships were established between the compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, and RCPT; these relationships fitted reasonably well with the other predictions. The experimental results depicted that 3% addition of graphene oxide with 30% GGBFS replacement produced an increase in compressive strength and modulus of elasticity values by 38.51% and 28%, while the chloride ion permeability by 65.44% respectively compared to mix without graphene oxide

    A simple, highly efficient and environmentally friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-(1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole by using Gadolinium(III) trifluoromethanesulfonate catalyst and ethanol reflux reaction conditions By using this method. 12 new 2-(1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivatives were synthesized under optimized reactions conditions. All these new products structures are confirmed by spectral analysis. By this method, we achieved imidazole derivatives with more operational simplicity, short reaction time and good yields (up to 85%)
