    This consitution outlines the purpose and structure of the Interior Design Association.CONSTITUTION of CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE INTERIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATION Article I The name of this Association is Central Piedmont Community College Interior Design Association. Article II The purposes of this Association are: Section 1 To assist the Interior Design student in keeping abreast of progress and innovations in the interior design field Section 2 To promote better understanding between Interior Design students and those already working in related fields Section 3 To increase the Interior Design student's exposure to members of national interior design associations and others in the trade Section 4 To enrich in as many ways as possible the learning process for the Interior Design student Article III Section I Qualifications for memberships in the Association shall be a. Any student registered in the Interior Design option at CPCC b. Any alumni of the CPCC Interior Design option c. Any faculty member of the Art Department of CPCC Section 2 Qualifications for maintenance of membership are a. A student with an incomplete grade must have the approval of the faculty advisor to retain membership with the Association Article IV Officers shall be President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer Section 1 Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of members present at the meeting at which the election is held Section 2 Any member of the Association who meets membership requirements may be eligible to hold office Section 3 Officers shall hold office for 12 months from date of installation Section 4 The duties of the officers shall be those usual to the title of the office Section 5 An officer may be impeached for conduct unbecoming to the office he holds Section 6 a. The Executive Board shall consist of all officers of the Association b. The Vice-president is chairman of the Executive Board c. The Executive Board has all the powers of the Association in the interval between meetings d. The Executive Board shall meet on call of its chairman, at the request of the faculty advisor of the Association or at the request of any two members of the Executive Board Section 7 Vacancies shall be filled on resignation of an officer at the next meeting of the Association whether it be called for that special purpose or is the next regular meeting Article V Section 1 Times of meetings shall be set in the bylaws. There shall be at least one meeting during each school quarter. The first meeting each quarter shall be on the second Tuesday of the new quarter at 11:30 a.m. Meetings thereafter shall be every two weeks, IDA bullitens will be posted Section 2 Special meetings may be held on call of the president, at the request of the faculty advisor or request of the Executive Board or on petition of a majority of the members of the Association Section 3 A majority of members present at the meeting shall be considered a quorum Article VI Section 1 There shall be a Program Committee and any others that may be added by amendment to the bylaws Section 2 The Program Committee shall consist of the President and two members of the Association appointed by the President Article VII Section 1 A majority of members present shall be required for passage of legislation Section 2 Any member in good standing, with the exception of faculty members or faculty advisor, is eligible to vote Section 3 Officers, except the President, may vote in the same manner as members at large. The President will exercise her/his vote only in the event of a tie Article VIII Section 1 Notice of intention of amending the Constitution shall be given at the meeting immediately preceeding that at which the voting on said amendment shall take place Section 2 A majority of members present and voting for the amendment shall be necessary for it to pas
