pdf Evaluation of Hemoglobin and Some Biochemical Parameters in Patients with Mixed Intestinal Parasitic Infections: Dr. Ahmed Hashim Hameed
Intestinal parasitic infections are prevalent diseases that can lead to various health issues, hindering growth and physical development. Young children, particularly those under five years old, are the most susceptible to these infections. During the period from 1st March to 1st November 2024, (723) stool samples were collected from (419 males and 304 females) with ages ranging from one day to old age persons in Baqubah city. The results showed that prevalence of intestinal parasitic infection was 389 (53.8%) from the total 723 samples. There was no significant difference between positive and negative samples. The intestinal parasitic infections were distributed according to the four age groups as shown in table (2). In the first age group (0-<10) years, the positive rate of male samples was 69 (9.5%) and the positive rate of female samples was 60 (8.3%). In the second age group (10-<20) years, the positive male and female rates were 58 (8.0%) and 64, (8.9%) respectively, in the third age group (20-<30) years, the positive male and female rates were 27 (3.7%) and 47 (6.5%) respectively, while in the fourth age group (≥30) years, the positive male and female rates were 209 (28.9%) and 180 (24.9%) respectively. The distribution of intestinal parasitic infections according to food intake showed that the positive indoor samples were 148 (20.5%), while the outdoor positive samples were 11(1.5%), and the mixed positive samples were 230 (31.8%), with highly significant differences (P<0.01) with regard to hemoglobin levels, it was found that the total number of samples examined to be 295 (40.8%), 80(11.1%), 14(1.9%) for hypo, normal and hyper levels respectively. The level of total serum protein showed that the hypo levels were 289 (40.0%) samples: 73 (10.1%) of them were in the age group (0-<10) years, 102 (14.1%) in the age group (10-<20) years, 51 (7.1%), 63 (8.7%) samples were in the age groups (20-<30) and (≥30) years respectively
pdf Histopathology of Brain Tissues of Male Rats in Experimentally Induced Oxidative Stress and the Protective Aspects of Apigenin: Dr. Kahtan Ahmad Al Mzaien, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Rawi, Aous Kahtan Al Mzaien and Omar Hussein Khalaf
Despite of the beneficial physiological role of low or moderate concentrations of free radicals at cellular levels, its harmful effects in the onset and or progression of several diseases have been documented by many workers.
Hydrogen peroxide used as an experimental source of highly reactive hydroxyl radical and it is considered the main oxidative stress inducer. In the current study the brain`s histological changes of male rats exposed to 0.75 % H2O2 in the drinking water and the impact of apigenin as protective agent have been investigated.
Histological sections of the brain post 4 and 8 weeks of H2O2 treatment showed marked degeneration and necrosis of Purkinje cells that characterized by eosinophilic cytoplasm and absence of the nuclei. Congestion and perivascular cuffing of inflammatory cells mainly neutrophils were also seen in the pia mater compared to the animals of negative control and bultylated hydroxytoloene (BHT) treated groups.
Interestingly, histological results demonstrated less or no significant lesions in H2O2 treated groups administrated apigenin in both forms aglycone and glycosidic forms suggesting the potential neuro-protective effect of apigenin as antioxidant with a clear priority to the apigenin in aglycone form. Moreover, these results may provide promising therapy against oxidative stress complications such as brain damage.

Chemotherapy and radiotherapy play vital roles in treatment some of female reproductive system cancers predominantly vaginal and cervical cancers. For cervical cancer, modalities can cause acute complications for instance genitourinary symptoms and gastrointestinal issues, alongside long-term effects comparable dyspareunia and vaginal atrophy that expressively affect sexual health. Combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is related with further severe late toxicities associated to radiotherapy only. In vaginal cancer, radiotherapy is mainly used in adjuvant setting to avert local revert post-surgery usually combined with chemotherapy to augment treatment efficacy expressly in advanced cases . Nevertheless, pelvic radiotherapy can cause vaginal morbidity comprising dryness, shortening and affecting sexual function. These treatments are important for successful survival consequences and organization disease-correlated symptoms.
Objective of this study to assess complications from radiotherapy and chemotherapy in some female reproductive system cancers in addition to appreciate impacts on female reproductive health after treatment.
Assess Uranium Concentration Levels in Blood Samples of Iraqi Personnel at the Tuwaitha Nuclear Site: Lina S.Al-Jameel
Exposure to uranium within occupational settings or surrounding environments has the potential to cause cellular damage and elevate the risk of carcinogenesis. This study aimed to assess the level of uranium toxicity in the blood and the possibility of health impact occurring on the personnel at The Tuwaitha site, which was previously utilized for nuclear activity and may contain a considerable amount of radioactive waste. Personnel at this facility are at risk of pollution due to the highly polluted environment of uranium. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPPS software application .Thirty-six blood samples were taken from personnel at The Tuwaitha site, categorized in to two distinct cohorts: 8 personnel lacking protective measures and 28 personnel utilizing protective equipment, along- side 30 control subjects who had no prior occupational exposure to The Tuwaitha nuclear facility .The CR-39 track detector has been utilized to evaluate the concentration of uranium in blood samples by depositing a droplet of blood on the detectors ,followed irradiation of CR-39 detectors with a neutron source .The findings showed elevated uranium concentrations in personnel lacking protective measures compared to those with protective measures and the control .Furthermore, the results demonstrated a significant correlation between uranium concentrations and the duration of employment. Uranium concentration was found higher in blood samples in personnel than individuals who had never worked at Tuwaitha site, also there is a relation between uranium concentrations and the duration of employment. The study suggests that personnel wear a hazmat suit and also taking oral antioxidants to protect from radiation.
Challenges and Limitations of HbA1c as a Surrogate Marker in Assessing Glycemic Control: A Critical Review: Isam Noori Salman, Karam Gharab, Lujain A. Ghannawi and Baydaa Ahmed Abed
The gold standard for determining a patient\u27s long-term glycemic control in individuals with diabetes mellitus is hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). However, new research casts doubt on its validity because of a number of methodological, pathological, and physiological restrictions. Recent research raises doubts about the universality of HbA1c as a surrogate test by highlighting the impact of glycemic variability, red blood cell turnover, ethnicity, and coexisting medical disorders on HbA1c levels. The limits of HbA1c and other indicators that offer a more accurate depiction of glycemic control are critically examined in this overview of recent research
pdf Electronic Structure and Reactivity Analysis of Bromocyclohexane, Chlorobenzene, and Iodobenzene Using Density Functional Theory: Huda M. Jawad, Ahlam M. Kadhim and Huda Talal Sulaiman
Density functional theory study was carried out to investigate the electronic structure and vibration properties of bromocyclohexane, chlorobenzene, and iodobenzene. the calculations implemented in Gaussian 09. The results showed infrared transmittance data provided key insights into functional groups and bond vibrations. Chlorobenzene and iodobenzene exhibit maximum absorption (or minimum transmittance) at around 700 cm1, corresponding to C-X (carbon-halogen) stretching vibrations, particularly C-Cl and C-I bonds. However, hexane bromosate exhibits a significant absorption at about 2900 cm-1, which is associated with C-H stretching at SP3-hybridized carbon atoms (a characteristic feature of saturated aliphatic structures such as cyclohexane). In contrast, the reduced mass values provided evidence of atomic contributions to specific vibrational modes, particularly in heavy atom interactions. The reduced masses reach 6 atomic mass units (a.m.u) of Chlorobenzene and Iodobenzene, which is nearly the reduced mass between two carbon atoms, and reduced masses reach 1.3(a.m.u) for Bromocyclohexane. The positive charge value is (hydrogen - iodine - chlorine - bromine) while the negative values are for carbon. Iodine, boron, and chlorine atoms appear positively charged in Mulliken charge analysis, primarily due to differences in electronegativity and bond polarity. Together, these computational results contribute to the understanding of the molecule\u27s electronic structure, stability, and reactive behavior, and provide information for its potential applications in pharmaceutical and materials science.

On Flouting Cooperative MaximsA Political Catch - 22 Communicative Quest
This study sheds light on the Cooperative Principle (hereinafter CP), its maxims and the flouting of these maxims in conversational contributions. The concept of cooperation in conversation and talk exchanges is presented by Grice (1975) who theorizes the theorem of the cooperative principle with its maxims: quantity, quality, relation, and manner. Cooperation is supposed to be achieved by these maxims being observed by participants. Sometimes, these maxims are not observed adequately for a variety of reasons. Non-observance modes of maxims include flouting, violating, opting out, infringing, etc. Flouting, the main concern of this study, occurs when participants blatantly fail to observe a maxim which results in generating conversational implicature.
It is then the intentional violating of one of the maxims to imply something indirectly by using sarcasm, irony, or innuendo for rhetorical or persuasive effect.
By investigating the tactics utilized by two politicians and flouting of Grice’s C P relevant in political discourse this paper attends to make a touch down on figuring some tactics and outmaneuvers followed to secure acceptance. Specifically, the paper compares the rhetorical styles followed by Trump and. Obama in selected speech excerpts. Using the framework of Grice\u27s (1975) conversational maxims—Quantity, Quality, Relation, and Manner—this study explores how both figures tactically adhere to or deviate from cooperative maxims to persuade, influence, and have public perception.
Flouting the maxims is a micro-level linguistic phenomenon. It saliently contributes to enhance macro-level rhetorical strategies. Understanding both, the micro- and macro- level analysis of political speech helps reveal what is being said, what is being implied, and how power is exercised via linguistic expressions

Key Performance Indicators of Sustainability To select contractors
Due to the significance of sustainability in the construction industry, it is essential to establish a precise mechanism for evaluating the sustainability performance of contractors, who are a crucial component in project execution. Analyzing contractors\u27 sustainability performance indicators is a crucial step in identifying the contractor most dedicated to sustainability standards. This study seeks to identify and comprehend the principal sustainability performance metrics of contractors in Iraq, considering the direct influence of their projects on community development and welfare. According Based on previous studies, sustainability indicators were gathered and categorized into three categories (environmental, social, and economic), resulting in a total of 127 indicators. A questionnaire was subsequently developed and disseminated to a selection of engineers and sustainability experts, yielding (104) responses for study. The statistical software (SPSS-V26) was employed to analyzed the results and establish priorities. The principle of the relative importance index was also applied, and indicators with an importance greater than or equal to 0.70 were selected in order to reduce the number of indicators and select the most important ones. 64 indicators were obtained, which constitute the basis for selecting sustainable contractors
