    Vitamin B12 and Micellar Solution Enable Regioselective Ring Opening of Epoxides and Aziridines with Electrophilic Olefins

    Vitamin B12, a water-soluble cobalt complex, is inherently predisposed to catalyze reactions under aqueous conditions. Despite its potential, adopting this strategy for transformations of hydrophobic reagents has been challenging, because of their low aqueous solubility. Here, we demonstrate that vitamin B12 promotes the reaction of epoxides and aziridines with electrophilic olefins in a micellar system. The desired products are obtained efficiently in a fully regioselective manner. This green catalytic approach further advances the use of vitamin B12 in sustainable catalysis, providing a valuable method to synthesize important intermediates.</p

    Data related to the work entitled Spectroscopic Properties and Biological Activity of Fluphenazine Conjugates with Gold Nanoparticles

    The objective of this study was to develop a method for preparing stable fluphenazine (FPZ) conjugates with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and to explore their physicochemical and biological characteristics. The FPZ-AuNP conjugates were synthesized through a ligand exchange reaction on the surface of AuNPs, with an average diameter of 17 ± 5 nm. Electrokinetic analyses showed that the zeta potential of the FPZ-AuNPs was influenced by both their chemical composition and the pH of the surrounding medium. The conjugates exhibited an isoelectric point, attributed to the acid–base behavior of FPZ. To determine the molecular orientation of FPZ upon adsorption, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) was employed, supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Biological evaluation using human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells demonstrated that FPZ-AuNP conjugates significantly decreased cell viability compared to either free FPZ or citrate-stabilized AuNPs alone. The observed cytotoxic effect was dose-dependent, increasing with higher concentrations of the FPZ-AuNP conjugates.</p

    The files contain raw data from the analysis to be published in the article entitled „Mix And Match: Twist-Bend Nematic Behaviour In Liquid Crystal Dimer Mixtures&#34;.The subject of this study were binary mixtures of 1,ω-bis(4-cyanobiphenyl-4’-yloxy) alkanes, referred to as the CBOnOCB series, where n refers to the number of methylene units in the flexible alkyl spacer. We selected odd-spaced nematogens from the CBOnOCB series (n &#61; 3, 7), which do not exhibit a stable NTB phase individually. The data include the raw infrared spectra as a function of temperature and from a polarized beam for one liquid crystal dimer (BCO7OCB) and its mixture with CBO3OCB dimer in a percentage ratio of 50:50 . The files from the infrared spectroscopic measurements are in a file with the extension bsp, which include a description of the temperatures and polarizations, and contain the determined integral absorbances for selected bands. The samples studied are ether dimers with a mesogenic group: cyanobiphenyl, while the linker length between the arms is 3 and 7. The attached files are labeled with the sample name and polarization. </p
