    Local Government Finances and Elections in Poland, 2008–2023

    The dataset covers all municipalities in Poland over the period 2008–2023. It includes detailed data on municipal revenues and expenditures, broken down by sections, chapters, and budgetary items, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance on the detailed classification of revenues, expenditures, income, outlays, and funds originating from foreign sources. In addition, the dataset contains results of parliamentary and local elections for the corresponding years, with a particular focus on mayoral elections (city presidents, town mayors, and village mayors), supplemented by information on the political affiliation of elected officials. The database was designed to support the analysis of the soft budget constraint (SBC) phenomenon in the financing of local government units in Poland.</p

    Baicalein-loaded chitosan films for local treatment of oral infections

Dissolution studies of electrospun nanofibers were performed using an Agilent 708-DS dissolution apparatus. A standard basket method was used at 37 ± 0.5 °C with a stirring speed of 50 rpm. Systems were placed in 200 mL of artificial saliva solution at pH 6.8 (potassium chloride (1.20 g), sodium chloride (0.85 g), di-potassium hydrogen orthophosphate (0.35 g), magnesium chloride (0.05 g), calcium chloride (0.20 g), xylitol (20.0 g) and water up to 1 L; pH was adjusted to 6.8 by 1 M HCl). The liquid samples were collected at specified time intervals, and an equal volume of temperature-equilibrated media was replaced. The samples were filtered through a 0.45 μm nylon membrane filter. The concentration was determined using the HPLC method (https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4360/17/16/2167) and converted, relative to the weight, into the percentage of the substance released during the experiment.</p

    Development and characterization of Sn99Ag0.3Cu0.7-(ZrO2/CuO/TiO2) nano-composite solder alloys

    In the present study, the effect of three oxide ceramics (TiO2, ZrO2, and CuO) as reinforcements in 0.25wt% weight fraction was investigated on the quality and reliability of the composite SAC0307 solder alloy.Three types of NPs were applied: TiO2, ZrO2, and CuO. They were mixed into Sn99Ag0.3Cu0.7 (SAC0307) solder paste in 0.25wt%. The primary particle sizes of the NPs were the following: 21nm - TiO2, &lt;100nm ZrO2, and &lt;50nm CuO.Spread tests were applied to study the wetting properties of the solder alloys. A test surface with 50x50mm area was prepared on FR4 substrates with Cu wiring and with imm-Ag surface finishing. The deposits had 5mm diameter and 125 µm thickness. The solder deposits were reflowed in a vapor phase soldering (VPS) oven. The spreading of the solder was measured by an optical microscope (Olympus BX50). Solder joints were fabricated by standard SMT on one-layer FR4 PCBs with Cu wiring. A DAGE 2400 shear tester was used to measure the shear force of the solder joints. The solder joints were loaded with a 3000 hours long 85ºC/85RH% thermal-humidity (TH) test to investigate their corrosion resistance and Sn whisker growth susceptibility. The solder joints were checked in each 1000 hours by a Thermo Scientific Quattro environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM). Elemental compositions were investigated by a Bruker Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).The results showed that NPs slightly decreased the wettability of nano-composite solder alloys. The shear strength of the composite joints generally increased, which proved that the second phase dispersion strengthening mechanism worked. However, the NPs have different effects on the corrosion resistance of the composite alloys. A former study proved that TiO2 could increase corrosion resistance. Now it was observed that ZrO2 did not change it, and CuO decreased it considerably. In correlation with corrosion resistance, the different composite alloys produced different amounts of Sn whiskers during the corrosive climate test.The dataset consists of supplementary SEM micrographs of the cross-sectioned solder joints.</p

    Sonocatalytic Activity of Porous Carbonaceous Materials for the Selective Oxidation of 4-Hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzyl Alcohol

    Selective oxidation, which is crucial in diverse chemical industries, transforms harmful chemicals into valuable compounds. Heterogeneous sonocatalysis, an emerging sustainable approach, urges in-depth exploration. In this work, we investigated N-doped or non-doped carbonaceous materials as alternatives to scarce, economically sensitive metal-based catalysts. Having synthesized diverse carbons using a hard-template technique, we subjected them to sonication at frequencies of 22, 100, 500, and 800 kHz with a 50% amplitude. Sonochemical reaction catalytic tests considerably increased the catalytic activity of C-meso (non-doped mesoporous carbon material). The scavenger test showed a radical formation when this catalyst was used. N-doped carbons did not show adequate and consistent sonoactivity for the selective oxidation of 4-Hydroxy-3,5 dimethoxybenzyl alcohol in comparison with control conditions without sonication, which might be associated with an acid–base interaction between the catalysts and the substrate and sonoactivity prohibition by piridinic nitrogen in N-doped catalysts.</p

    The dataset contains Brinell-type hardness test results (under various loads) for the 5 wood species listed in the title (beech, linden, ash, spruce, and merbau) on 3 anatomical cross-sections (Radial R, Tangential T, and Lateral/transverse L). Each such measurement consisted of 4 series. Therefore, the set contains 5 x 3 x 4 &#61; 60 files. Each file contains the results of indentation diameter measurements for five different loads. Four indentations were performed for each load, and each indentation had diameters measured in two perpendicular directions. The five loads and the 5 species are a coincidence of numbers, as are the four indentations and the 4 measurement series – to avoid misunderstandings, these numbers are marked differently here. In addition to the raw data, the files also contain the basic analysis (including the Meyer index calculation) and graphs. </p
