Energy intensity of the polish agri-food sector in the light of input-output tables

No full text
The dataset covers the agri-food sector in Poland for the years 2014-2019, including agriculture, the food industry, agricultural supply, food industry supply, and agribusiness. Additionally, for comparison purposes, data on the entire economy has also been included. The dataset contains information on final energy consumption, categorized into six groups of energy sources within each analyzed sector, allowing for an assessment of the energy use structure. Moreover, it includes GDP values in Purchasing Power Standard (PPS) for each sector, enabling an analysis of their contribution to economic development.A key component of the dataset is energy intensity indicators, which quantify the amount of energy consumed per unit of GDP (MJ/EUR). These indicators facilitate the assessment of energy intensity across individual sectors and their comparison against the entire economy.Data contains a ReadMe.txt file.</p

Development and Testing Dataset: Blockchain-Based Electronic Money System for Fast, Low-Value Transactions

No full text
The dataset contains data from development work on an innovative cloud-based payment system using blockchain architecture. The project aimed to create a secure micropayment system designed for fast, low-value transactions, dedicated mainly to underage clients, with particular emphasis on applications in games and other types of digital publications. The development work focused on creating a solution enabling nano and micropayments (payments of very small value – where amounts are counted in single grosz, eurocents, cents), whose processing was previously unprofitable due to technological costs exceeding the transaction value. The system was specifically optimized for rapid transaction processing while maintaining low operational costs. The dataset contains test results conducted in three main project stages:Verification of the possibility of placing the client application in the cloud computing environment along with storing sensitive dataTesting of the IT solution prototype under laboratory conditionsResults of tests in real conditions of the integrated cloud-based payment systemThe data includes raw results of system performance tests, results of external audits comparing the Billon platform with other blockchain solutions, as well as data on the effectiveness of proprietary security methods and data storage in the public cloud. The CSV files use semicolon - ";" as the separator mark.</p

NOx concentration: first dataset of measurements on NOx formation in atmospheric-pressure microwave plasma

No full text
This data presents the experimental results obtained during the execution of selected tasks from the project titled: "Wytwarzanie NOx w atmosferycznej plazmie mikrofalowej – badanie wpływu 'quenchingu' oraz wzbudzenia oscylacyjnego cząsteczek" (English: "NOx formation in an atmospheric pressure microwave plasma – investigating the impact of quenching and vibrational excitation of molecules"), funded by the Polish National Science Centre (NCN), Project No. 2022/47/D/ST8/01512.The project focuses on the formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in atmospheric-pressure microwave plasma. The presented data includes measurements of nitrogen oxides (NOx), performed using an FTIR analyzer (GASMET), obtained from a microwave plasma reactor under various experimental conditions. The dataset consist of four files:1. InitialContains results obtained at the beginning of the project, while methods and procedures were still under development. It includes different flow rates and power inputs tested using compressed air. This set demonstrates the basic correlation between gas flow rate, input power, and the amount of NOx produced.2. NozzleA compilation of results from two measurement sets with a well-developed methodology: one using a nozzle-type reactor and the other using a reactor without a nozzle. Both sets include various flow rates and power inputs tested with compressed air. This dataset illustrates the improvement in process efficiency due to the application of the nozzle.3. Oxygen_no_nozzleA compilation of results for different O2 concentrations using a reactor without a nozzle. This set shows the influence of O2 content on NOx production.4. Oxygen_nozzleA compilation of results for different O2 concentrations using a reactor with a nozzle. This set also shows the influence of O2 content on NOx production.Variables included in the dataset:Flow rate, SLM (standard liters per minute): Volumetric flow rate of airor O₂/N₂ mixture, ranging from 20 to 100 SLM depending on the case.Power, W: Microwave input power, ranging from 600 to 1800 W depending on the case.NO, ppm: Nitric oxide concentration (in volumetric ppm).NO error, ppm: Uncertainty of NO measurement.NO₂, ppm: Nitrogen dioxide concentration (in volumetric ppm).NO₂ error, ppm: Uncertainty of NO₂ measurement.NOx, ppm: Sum of NO and NO₂ concentrations (in volumetric ppm).NOx error, ppm: Uncertainty of NOx measurement.EC, MJ/mol: Energy cost of NOx formation.EC error, MJ/mol: Uncertainty of energy cost determination.O₂, %: Oxygen content in the O₂-N₂ mixture.Nozzle: Indicates whether the test was carried out in a nozzle reactor (YES) or a non-nozzle reactor (NO).Improvement: The increase in NOx production calculated based on the ratio of NOx concentration for the case with nozzle and without nozzle</p

Oxidative stress and hematological alterations without a cortisol response to exercise in young swimmers during the luteal phase

No full text
Physiological response to exercise in young female athletes is understudied, especially regarding how the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle influences performance in demanding sports such as swimming. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the post-exercise hormonal response, oxidative stress markers, and hematological parameters following a moderate-intensity exercise test in trained adolescent female swimmers. Eighteen swimmers (aged 12-16 years) performed a swimming test (800m + 200m + 50m) during their rigorously verified luteal phase. Blood samples were collected before exercise, immediately after exercise, and after 3 hours of recovery. Moderate-intensity exercise significantly increased 8-isoprostane levels, while cortisol and 4-hydroxynonenal levels showed no significant changes. Microscopic blood smear analysis showed erythrocyte anisocytosis and poikilocytosis, toxic granulation in granulocytes, and activated lymphocytes. These findings suggest that young swimmers are more prone to exercise-induced oxidative stress, likely due to an immature antioxidant system. The disconnect between stable cortisol levels and elevated 8-isoprostanes highlights a complex relationship between endocrine and redox factors. Our results underscore the importance of considering the menstrual cycle for health monitoring and the accurate training planning for young female athletes.</p

The development of software for fast DCT-VIII algorithms for short-length input sequences

No full text
This dataset is MATLAB programming code implementing the developed algorithms for DCT-VIII. DCT-VIII stands for Discrete Cosine Transform type eight. This dataset was created in MATLAB version R2023b Update 4 (23.2.0.2428915), 64-bit (win64), November 23, 2025.The research includes basic research. The goal was to develop fast algorithms for the eighth type of discrete cosine transform. To achieve this, matrix patterns described by Aleksandr Cariow in the paper "Strategies for the Synthesis of Fast Algorithms for the Computation of the Matrix-vector Products" [DOI:10.7726/jspta.2014.1001] were used.</p
