My earliest memory of  it goes back to my boyhood days:
a porcelain cup of  the steaming liquid 
sitting on a saucer with two Marie tea biscuits
carried into my grandfather’s presence.
He lowered his paper momentarily
to survey the beverage and gauge
its temperature with the thermometer
in his eye.
Or my uncle - my favorite uncle - who
stopped by every morning. 
He always had a glint in his eye.
He sat on the large swing
under the bougainvillea vines, the sun
mottling his plaid eighties button-down with its golden drops.
He didn’t care for cookies
just a hot cup capable of  raising enough fog

The color of  my hair in the sunset 
is the last wish you’ll make, you say.
We are two rocks tethered to one another 
by a weathered rope. The sky is a healing bruise 
over our movements
and birds circle above, searching for marrow.
Murmur. Say my arching spine is the hill 
you would die on.

So many bridges, they must be heading somewhere.
I’m without wheels, yet I force myself
to keep walking. So many gleams, they must
light the way to something.    I’ve missed
out on comforts that others enjoy, but 
if  I can trudge through the long cold of  night,
I’ll find what a few have found before me,
alone and driven      in the City of  Lights.

It’s messy work, but you don’t like spending too much time on it your-

“Too much effort” (I wither away)

The ones I spent an hour cutting the thorns off  from.

The blood from my hands as I try to pry you away from my beating heart.
The sunflowers we saw at the farmers market,
were too big and obnoxious for our apartment.
“I don’t even like sunflowers” (they’re my favorite)
Today I went to return the lemons I bought and
The sundress my mother gave me yesterday.
Next month you are buying a new flat,
One preferably without the sunroom I spend all my time in.
 As the sky meets the grass around us,
I feel like I might just say it, on this picnic I dragged you to.
“Can we go home?” (the words die in my throat)
On the way back, I stare down at my hands,
The blue green veins criss crossing their way to my heart.
I look up, free falling into your green eyes,
the ones that sparkled when I showed you my blue nails.
You love it when I do as you demand ask.
The traffic cones narrow the roads a bit too much,
Cars getting stuck and us being late to your game.
“Pass me something to eat” (I speed up peeling an already half-peeled orange)
As the sun sets and the traffic grows,
I can sense an incoming early dinner row.
News of  California fires burst out of  the car radio,
And somehow I can feel the heat close.
Doves fly above us as we walk through the city,
Window shopping is one of  my favorite things to do.
“We’re not stopping for anything” (but I already knew that)
A wedding dress catches my eye, too pretty, too much,
Almost as soon as you pull me through the parking lot.
Peace and death. Love is truly blind. 
Colors, emotions, people and patterns,
They whirl around me as I get dizzy.
Love (please call an ambulance), I want to say.
The alarms scream from inside,
And all I can see is you as I blackout.

Love Full of Loving

The aim of my study was to find out what changes are taking place in the restaurant industry due to social media reviews. I examined eleven scholarly articles and selected five practical experts in the restaurant business to understand whether social media reviews can determine the future of a restaurant. Whether even bad reviews can be helpful in fixing a restaurant’s problems. My research focused on how reviews are written, what motivates positive reviews and what causes negative reviews. Restaurant reviews are not flawless, but they have nevertheless contributed to reshape the restaurant industry, and will certainly continue to have a profound impact in the coming years.

The Impact of Social Media Reviews on Restaurant Business

This research essay looks at a very prominent issue facing juveniles in Cook County, gang involvement. It looks specifically at how social media has increased gang involvement in juveniles, as well as how a non-religious, church-based program could help combat this issue. These claims are substantiated through the application of multiple juvenile justice theories. This essay also looks at programs that are currently in place in Cook County, that were then used in to build a foundation for the church-based program outlined in the essay.
