Schokolade und Klimawandel
Chocolate is a beloved treat worldwide, but its production is threatened by climate change, as cacao trees are highly sensitive to environmental shifts. Rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns, driven by global warming, endanger cacao-growing regions, potentially leading to chocolate shortages and higher prices. While avoiding chocolate consumption is one solution, it\u27s not realistic for many. A more feasible approach is controlling growing conditions through technological innovations like vertical farming. This method, which allows for climate-controlled indoor cultivation, could offer a viable solution to ensure the continued production of chocolate in a changing climate
Sind SUVs in der Großstadt sinnvoll oder problematisch?
This essay explores the practicality and potential problems of SUVs in urban areas. It discusses why many people, especially those with larger families, choose SUVs, highlighting their need for space and safety. While SUVs offer advantages like greater cargo capacity and better crash test ratings, they also come with drawbacks, such as higher fuel consumption and increased emissions, which contribute to environmental issues like climate change. The essay also questions whether electric SUVs could be a solution, though concerns about battery mineral extraction persist. Ultimately, it concludes that the growing popularity of SUVs is driven by practicality, but cultural and environmental factors may shape future trends in vehicle preferences

Is Stripping Women of Reproductive Rights a Form of Femicide?
My research explores the causes and consequences of the 2022 Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. I examine how this ruling has increased risks to women\u27s health and safety, particularly in states with abortion bans, and highlight the urgent need for federal policies to restore reproductive rights and ensure safe healthcare access.

Sociocultural Insights of the Arabic Language
Through exploring the sociocultural insights of the Arabic language, I studied how language reflects culture. I learned that language is a manifestation of complex social and cultural dynamics---from societal structure to worldview, written and spoken words embody one\u27s identity. It is impossible to learn a language without concurrently learning culture.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Chair? Investigating the Influence of Musical Structures on False Memory
This study explores how melody and rhythm influence memory by comparing recall accuracy and false memory rates between spoken and sung presentations of a DRM word list. Using the familiar melody of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, we explore whether music improves the recall of studied words and reduces the false recall of critical lures.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle; Undo the Vicious Cycle
Plastic pollution is a global issue that’s had tremendous impacts on the environment along with our health, especially with the disruptive qualities it exhibits, interfering with our ecosystem. I’ll address that plastic is a non-biodegradable material, leading to excessive amounts of pollution and ultimately we need to reduce plastic production.

Effects of Secondhand Smoke
The respiratory effects of secondhand smoke (SHS) are numerous throughout all populations. Studies show that patients are more likely to develop respiratory diseases if they grow up in a household with one or more smokers. SHS is linked to increased rates of many respiratory conditions such as Asthma, Tuberculosis (TB), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Lung Cancer, and Perioperative respiratory complications. This paper will focus on the impact of secondhand smoke on individuals, in utero to 18 years of age. However, since some conditions are not seen until later in life, adult patients will also be noted. Additionally, the issues of education, public health, smoking ban effectiveness, and the need for further research will be addressed
