    No full text
For my research project, I have chosen to examine the changing philosophies around Tuscan religious art from the Late Medieval Age to the Renaissance, placing special examination on the differing aesthetic experience between these eras and how it impacted its viewer. The icons of the Medieval period were not considered to be art, rather divine intervention by God on behalf of the artist. In contrast, Renaissance art was an intellectual and creative experience that resulted in what we know as art. Within my paper, I discuss what makes art within a Renaissance context and how these varying philosophies regarding art and beauty led to distinct differences in the aesthetic experiences of viewership.
