Insights of Intersectional Theory in the Rwandan-DRC Conflict
The 1994 Rwandan Genocide, one of the worst atrocities committed in recorded history, had major social and political ramifications for the region. Analyzing the genocide under the light of Intersectional IR theory highlights these impacts and better allows us to understand the nature of the conflict taking place today.

Can Reforestation Cool Urban Areas?
This paper explores the potential of reforestation as a strategy to cool urban areas. I begin by explaining the concept of an urban heat island, its causes, and the associated human and climatic impacts. Analyses of selected cities are employed to help assess the effectiveness of urban greening in reducing heat. Throughout my research, I became aware of the intricate factors that combine to create urban heat islands. The conclusion supports my prediction that urban greening is a viable solution for cooling cities.

Curriculum Support: From the Beginning
The College of DuPage (COD) Library is large for a community college, closer to a four- year college library in some respects, with 250,000 print volumes, 125,000 ebooks, over sixty staff members, and ten full-time faculty librarians. The library has a subject liaison arrangement in which the librarian has the responsibility to curate the collection for their subject areas. Librarians can take a broader view of the collection composition, discipline relationships, and student usage, as they have been professionally trained for this activity. The collections budget at COD is allocated to the liaison librarians to spend as they see fit, whereas other institutions may have a more centralized budget and materials selection process. Since the college curriculum drives the collections budget strategy, the librarians pay close attention to what is happening with this process. While the ideal situation has a faculty member consulting with a subject liaison librarian at the beginning of the assign- ment, course, or program development process, this is not always the case. As a result, librarians benefit from participating in curriculum development conversations beyond the library to get information that can aid the collection development process. Librarians should have a recognized, stated role in the college’s curriculum approval process and should also seek informal opportunities to engage with students and faculty to gain a better understanding of curricular needs
Migration und Integration
Migration is the relocation of individuals to other countries for reasons such as education, family, work, and politics. In Germany, migration is largely driven by EU freedom of movement, with other reasons including humanitarian factors and family reunification. Integration involves the inclusion of individuals with different values into a common society, and many immigrants successfully learn the language and become employed. However, migrants face challenges such as learning a new language and experiencing discrimination. Integration is essential for migrants, as it helps them adapt to a new society while also contributing to the economy and cultural diversity
Behind the Scenes of a Perfect Industry
I studied the harmful social norms that the Korean media reinforces, specifically through the pop music industry. My research paper walks through the unhealthy artist-fan relationship, the glorification of damaging beauty standards, the taxing production cycle of the K-pop industry, and how it negatively affects both artists and fans.

Making Monsters of Women: A Case Study of Tradwives and Childless Cat Ladies
The presentation, once a podcast, examines how the dialectic of tradwives and childless cat ladies reflects greater us vs. them dynamics described by Monster Theory . To begin, the presentation explores the rise of these two reductionist caricatures and their influence on political divisiveness. The presentation also addresses how the us vs. them politics these caricatures contribute to distract from real societal progress and proposes what could be done about it.
