This article examines the history of research and species composition of leeches (Hirudinida) found in the aquatic environments of Southern Uzbekistan. Based on the analysis of relevant scientific literature, the study highlights the biological and ecological characteristics of leeches, their role in aquatic ecosystems, and their distribution areas. Additionally, the scope and results of existing studies are analyzed, emphasizing that the leech fauna of Southern Uzbekistan has not yet been sufficiently studied

Distribution and biology of some little-known species of Neoplocaederus Scapularis (Coleoptera:Cerambycidae) collected in the north-east of Karakalpakstan by Takhtakopirsky district bordering Beruniysky in the south, Ellikkalinsky in the east, Karaozaksky in the west, Moinaksky district in the north-west, with the Republic of Kazakhstan and Navoi region and new information on ecology is presented. New habitats for species considered pests or invasive species, such as Aeolesthes sarta (Solsky, 1871) and Neoplocaederus scapularis (Fischer von Waldheim, 1821). The list of taxa collected by the first author during many years of field research in Karakalpakstan, and photographs of little-known species from his collection, including some endemics, are given. In addition, there are high-quality photographs of some extremely rare species collected during our expedition, namely Xylotrechus (Xylotrechus) (Gebler, 1825), as well as images of their habitat
SAFEGUARDING THE EUROPEAN POND TURTLE: CONSERVATION STRATEGIES IN TÜRKIYE
The European Pond Turtle (Emys orbicularis) has experienced a significant population decline across its range due to habitat loss, climate change, and human activities. This review examines the factors contributing to its decline, such as habitat degradation from agricultural practices, climate shifts, and population fragmentation, which limits gene flow and increases the risk of local extinctions. Conservation efforts, including habitat restoration, legal protections under the Natura 2000 framework, and population management techniques, have been implemented with varying success. In Türkiye, a subspecies, Emys orbicularis eiselti, faces critical endangerment, with fewer than 100 mature individuals remaining. Conservation strategies must prioritize habitat connectivity and address both aquatic and terrestrial habitat needs. A multifaceted, adaptive approach that incorporates continued research and landscape management is essential for the long-term survival of the species

This article presents the species composition of bugs (Heteroptera) inhabiting the Lower
Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve. The research revealed that the study area is home to 13 families, 39 genera, and
52 species of bugs. The highest number of species belongs to the families Miridae — 14 species (27%), and
Pentatomidae and Reduviidae — with 7 species each (13% each). The lowest number of species was found in the
families Tingidae, Pyrrhocoridae, and Alydida
