The Bianchi Transform of the Minding Coil
The work is devoted to the study of the Bianchi transform for surfaces of constant negative Gaussian curvature. The surfaces of rotation of constant negative Gaussian curvature are the Mining top, the Minding coil, the pseudosphere (Beltrami surface). Surfaces of constant negative Gaussian curvature also include Kuens surface and the Dinis surface. The study of surfaces of constant negative Gaussian curvature (pseudospherical surfaces) is of great importance for the interpretation of Lobachevsky planimetry. The connection of the geometric characteristics of pseudospherical surfaces with the theory of networks, with the theory of solitons, with nonlinear differential equations and sin-Gordon equations is established. The sin -Gordon equation plays an important role in modern physics. Bianchi transformations make it possible to obtain new pseudospherical surfaces from a given pseudospherical surface
Perceived Effect of Practice on Secondary School Chemistry Students: the Case Study of Selected Schools in the Ovia North Eastlocal Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria.
This study investigated the perceived effect of practical senior secondary school student & amp;#39; performance in chemistry: the case study of selected schools in Ovia North East Local government area, Edo state. To achieve this purpose, three research questions were raised. The study design was quasi-experimental, using pre-test and post-test approaches. The study population consisted of all public senior secondary schools in the Ovia North East Local Government, Edo State, while the study sample size was 400 students drawn from the twenty- seven (27) public senior secondary schools in the local government area. Simple random sampling techniques was used to select fourteen school representing fifty percent. Purposive sampling was used to select 400 students from the fourteen schools. The instrument for the study was an achievement test drawn from past questions from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO). Two teachers of Chemistry and three Measurement and Evaluation experts validated the test items. The reliability of the instrument was checked using the Kuder-Richardson formula 20 reliability statistics and gave an index of 0.89. A Liebigs Principle of Limiting Factors based Single-Species Population Growth Model
In this contribution, we propose a single-species population growth model formulated using ideas emanating from Liebig’s principle of limiting factors. The inherent natural natality rate determines by the minimum between the size of the population and that of a resource on which the population depends for sustenance. Moreover, emulating the unrestricted population growth assumption, we hypothesise that the associating natural mortality rate is proportional to population size. We also consider that the external feeding resource's consumption rate varies directly proportional to the natural growth rate of the population. In this delivery, we present a qualitative study of the associated trajectories and fitting results based on data on populations growing under experimental or natural conditions. The possible phase configurations include regimes with stable equilibria, sigmoidal growth, extinction, or stationarity. All study cases confirmed that the offered model entails high reproducibility of observed variation patterns while supplying remarkable interpretative capabilities. The proposed model also allows simultaneous identification of the population size trajectory and the resource abatement function. One phase of Liebig’s limiting factors principle-driven model can consistently mimic population size abatement to extinction. Such a feature misses improved in regularly conceived S-shaped population growth models
Development of the Quantum Diffusion Model for Impurity H Atoms in low Dimensional Nanosystems
The quantum diffusion model for impurity atoms in low-dimensional nanosystems has been developed with software for calculating the quantum diffusion coefficients for impurity atoms in materials at different temperatures. The temperature dependence of the quantum diffusion of hydrogen and deuterium on the ice surface is calculated, which shows that it is very close to a straight line in logarithmic coordinates. It has been shown that the quantum diffusion coefficient of hydrogen is about 35 times greater than the diffusion coefficient of deuterium at the temperature of 10 K. The developed model was used to calculate the dependence of the hydrogen quantum diffusion coefficient in a graphone on temperature. It has been established that at temperatures above 200 K, thermally activated diffusion of H begins to dominate, and at temperatures below 150 K, diffusion of hydrogen in graphone occurs by tunneling
The Quantile Method for Symbolic Principal Component Analysis
In this article, we present a new quantification method to realize the principal component analysis (PCA) for symbolic data tables. We first describe the nesting property for the monotone point sequences and the correlation matrix by the rank correlation coefficient. Then, we present the object splitting method by which interval valued data table can be transformed to a usual numerical data table. We are able to apply the traditional PCA to this transformed data table. The quantile method is a generalization of the object splitting method, and can manipulate histograms, nominal multi-value types, and other types simultaneously. Nonlinear Analysis as a Calculus
In the last 60 years, there was formed a universal nonlinear analysis, whose unified algorithms allow to find asymptotic forms and asymptotic expansions of solutions to nonlinear equations and systems of different types: algebraic, ordinary differential (ODE), partial differential (PDE) and systems of mixed-type equations. This calculus contains two main algorithms: (a) Reducing equations to the normal form and (b) Separating truncated equations, and two kinds of transformations of coordinate can be used to simplify the obtained equations: (A) Power and (B) Logarithmic. Here we show that for algebraic equation, single ODE, autonomous system of ODE’s, Hamiltonian system, single PDE. Some applications are mentioned as well
Determination of the Hydrological Parameter of the Curve Number (NC) for the Las Cañas Stream in the Siscunsí Paramo by means of Geographic Information Systems.
In this study, the curve number parameter is automatically determined in the micro-watershed of the Las Cañas stream of the Siscunsí paramo, in the department of Boyacá, Colombia, using the method of the Soil Conservation Service of the United States, which has the capacity to estimate the amount of runoff in an established hydrographic basin. This procedure is based on the use of geographic information systems, and thus create new maps of the curve number at regional scale, using algorithms of the same programs. Likewise, a multitemporal analysis of the vegetation cover and land use identified in the area was conducted to analyze the presence of anthropogenic activities such as agriculture, making it possible to evaluate the type of soil, precipitation, and flow rates. Generational Union to Guarantee Sustainable Development
Background: We have adopted an uncontrolled and unplanned development that has led us to our current reality. To arrive at this problematic situation, it is necessary to count on political will, as well as intergenerational community co-responsibility, based on the 17 goals of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. Intergenerational co-responsibility will be achieved when we understand the “biology” of generations, each one can create a universe, and working together we will walk towards our utopia.Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted using “PubMed” and “Google Scholar” in August and September 2022. We made different searches using keywords: Baby boomers’ generation (bb), X generation, millennium generation (y), Z generation, Sustainable Development, Brundtland Report, and Intergenerational co-responsibility. The search was limited to the studies published in Spanish and English.
Discussion: There is a great virtue that coincides among all the generations which is the search for a better world. Starting the millennial generation, which is the one with the highest demographic density in the world and the advantage of having globalized thinking. Initiate with a continuum of teaching, departing from this generation, that is an authentic engine of change and a key to reach other generations such as the Z generation and X generation, which will act as a bridge to the BB generation, a fundamental piece as they are wisdom and experience. Each generation can create a universe, this will be the task of the Z generation, which will transmit what has been learned in these chaotic and overwhelming times. The consequences of the non-sustained development that we had are already here. It is implicit in each generation to adopt the change. So, is there room for this yet? Strengthening Citizen Participation Through E-Governance: Taking Stock and Looking Forward to Ugandas Local Governments
As developing countries apple to strengthen participatory approaches in their Local Government systems, e-governance provides an opportunity to reposition the interaction between government and the citizens. E-governance resonates with Ugandas new thrust for Demand-Driven Community Development and LED initiatives implied in her Third National Development Plan. And by reaching out to local communities and providing them engagement digital channels, e-governance can resuscitate Uganda long lost values of self-help, cooperation, and community involvement in service delivery systems as targeted by the Parish Development Model. The e-governance conviction is based on two theoretical perceptions. Firstly, that the quality and effectiveness of any governance policy largely depends on the involvement of all its stakeholders in decision-making. Secondly that e-governance is a great platform that provides a single point of access for both governors and the governed in public processes. Yet, local actors find investment in such technology-intensive systems inherently expensive and risky. Expensive in terms of the infrastructural set up and maintenance and risky considering the less certainty that it will automatically serve the intended purposes. Using desk research based on a critical interpretive review and theoretical synthesis, this paper explores the reality of e-governance in Uganda, synthesizes the opportunities and draws implications of e-governance towards strengthening citizen participation in local governments of Uganda. The paper concludes that the country has experienced more e-government than e-governance. It recommends that the national government should deliberately perpetuate a system that ensures the security of electronic transactions and communications, protection of privacy, empower citizens to control personal information and commit to universal accessibility and affordability at community level
