Material Adaptation in the Classroom and the use of Typhlotechnology as Teachers of Students with Visual Impairment Students’ Perspective
Technologies have been a fundamental part of education for several decades since, through their use, all students can access information more easily and remotely. However, it is not until recent years that it has been latently noticed how the attention of educators and researchers has been redirected towards students with visual impairment or other special needs in an attempt to promote their inclusion in today\u27s classrooms. It should be noted that the adaptation of material in the classroom and the use of typhlotechnology as teachers of students with visual impairment has not been studied much from the perspective of the students; hence the objective of this study. The data analysis was collected through the use of interviews that provided first-hand information from students with visual impairment in relation to the knowledge that their teachers have -or not- about typhlotechnology and the adaptation of materials to cover their curriculum. The data analysis was carried out with the coding of students\u27 responses and with the identification of topics based on the research questions. Consequently, the study indicates that students with visual impairment consider it important that their teachers are aware of the technologies used by the aforementioned to adapt the materials depending on their educational needs
The Role of Zhouyi in shaping Modern China’s Nation Memory
This paper explores modern China\u27s national memory through the lens of the Zhouyi. Traditional Chinese historiography often regards ancient China as a golden age. In the 20th century, the Doubting Antiquity School, led by Gu Jiegang, questioned this perspective, advocating for a reevaluation of ancient Chinese texts. During this period, many scholars revisited these ancient texts. This paper finds that 20th-century Yi-ology exhibited a tendency toward "telling China�s story well," as scholars used the Zhouyi to reconstruct a new ancient historical discourse. This discourse, while based on ancient history, served 20th-century China with the goal of reshaping modern China\u27s national memory. The paper introduces the 20th-century research achievements in Zhouyi studies and examines the original significance of Yi during the Zhou Dynasty, which is crucial for understanding why Zhouyi has consistently been regarded as a Chinese canon. Finally, it argues that the Zhouyi has played a significant role in shaping China\u27s national identity by reconstructing national memory through the 20th-century discourse
Nikolai Marr’s Theory of the Labor Origin of the Language and its Sources
The article is devoted to the analysis of the theory of the labor origin of the language, which is the most important element of Nikolai Marr. The author reveals some of the nuances of its creation and notes the inconsistency of this theory. Based on this, questions are raised about the relevance of N. Marr�s theory of glottogenesis and the relevance of the entire theory of the labor origin of the language as a whole for modern science. Important attention is paid to the sources of N. Marr�s �New doctrine of language�. First of all, the author analyzes the Marxist theory of the labor origin of man and his language, which was especially developed in the work of Friedrich Engels �The role of labor in the process of the transition from ape to man�. The second most important place is occupied by the tool concept of the origin of the language of Ludwig Noir�. This concept received an excellent schematic explication in his work �The tool of labor and its significance in the history of the development of mankind�. Of particular importance is the concept of �mimic language� by Wilhelm Wundt, presented in his work The Soul of Man and Animals�, which is not related to the labor theory of the origin of language. Two versions of the labor principle of glottogenesis that is, theories of F. Engels and L. Noir� most influenced the formation of the N. Marr�s �New doctrine of language�, one of the deep developments of which was a detailed, contradictory and extremely complicated concept of the origin of the language. It was based on the hypothesis of the era of manual language and on the hypothesis of the decisive role of tools in the formation of sound language and logical thinking. The main drawback of the conception of Nikolai Marr was its inconsistency due to the fact that the scientist, without any evidence, introduced into his theory the principles of �labor-magic activity� and the four primary elements of language (SAL, BER, JON, RO�). These contradictions and theoretically unsubstantiated constructions did not cancel the originality and constructiveness of a number of ideas embedded in Marrism. However, due to these contradictions and shortcomings, the glottogenetic concept of Nikolai Marr could not develop into a coherent theory. It remained a collection of interesting and important, but often strange, fantastic, grotesque ideas.
The Location of a Tomb of the Pharaoh in Pyramid of Cheops
The subject of this research is the pyramid of Cheops. The goal is to determine the location of the burial place of the pharaoh and his sarcophagus. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: Theoretical analysis of scientific and research literature on this problem. Summarizing and systematizing practical data. Processing, synthesis, analysis of the data obtained, building hypotheses and deriving the final result. Graphic accompaniment of the version from later prototypes to the author's description of the purpose of the artifact. The generally accepted version is that the room in the pyramid of Cheops, discovered by the Arabs, is nothing more than the King's Chamber with his sarcophagus. Since then, researchers have been debating whether the upper chamber discovered by Al-Ma'mun is really the King's Chamber, and the object inside it is the sarcophagus of the pharaoh. The author, summarizing numerous works of Egyptologists, conducts his own research. On its basis, he proves that in the so-called Chamber of the Tsar it is not the sarcophagus, but its defective blank

Chemical Diversity of Propolis from Meliponinae: An Ancestral Treasure to be Preserved
Propolis is a mixture made by bees consisting of plant resins and metabolites, salivary enzymes and wax. Some species of bees add soil to this mixture forming geopropolis. This material is used in the defense of the hive as a physical barrier and antimicrobial agent, ensuring the health of the colony. Propolis has been extensively studied and several chemical constituents have been identified, mainly flavonoids, terpenes and phenolics. With the emerging microbial resistance to antibiotics, the interest in the search for active compounds, mainly secondary metabolites of plants, has been increasing significantly. In this paper, we describe the characteristics of the main species of native stingless bees found in South America, especially in Brazil, the ancestral use of propolis produced by them, its chemical composition and its potential for the development of new therapeutic compounds, along with the challenges that the survival of bees face
Linguistic Feelings of Some English-Speaking Students from the ENS of Maroua (Cameroon) and Strategies for Improving FLE/FLS Skills
This article analyzes the linguistic feelings of English-speaking students at the ENS de Maroua, regional capital of the Far North. The twenty respondents come from the Regions of North-West and South-West in Cameroon. English, their language of schooling in primary school and secondary education is now a minority alongside vehicular and local languages in thetown of Maroua. The survey presents a diversity of situations and illustrates a variation of relations to French. The study experiments with the linguistic imagination protocol developed by A-M. Houdebine (2002). The results present representative perceptions of desire, derision, repression as well as linguistic failures. Some respondents want to improve their levels but others are demotivated by a language policy promoting vernacular languages. Facilitating strategies are also proposed for improving FLE/FLS skills. Although In transfer and reception linguistic-cultural values and standards are not always equitable between Regions English speakers and the French speaking part of a country where French-English bilingualism is nevertheless official
Urea\u27s Impact on Curing Dynamics, Resin Structure, and Properties of Urea-Formaldehyde Adhesives
The curing of urea-formaldehyde resin in the presence of urea used to reduce the formaldehyde content in particleboards was researched. Free urea was added into the adhesive with different amounts of latent curing agent (1 and 3% ammonium sulfate based on dry resin); a urea which is part of the modifiers-curing agents (products of the interaction of citric acid, urea and ammonia) was also studied separately. Based on the results of differential scanning calorimetry, solid-state NMR 13C of the cured resin and tests of model particleboards, it was suggested that the effect of urea is significantly influenced by the pH value of the adhesive before and during curing. At a relatively high pH value (3.50-3.70 after curing at ammonium sulfate content of 1%), urea acts as a classical scavenger, that is, it chemically interacts with formaldehyde to form harmless products. At a reduced pH value (3.00-3.10 after curing at ammonium sulfate content of 3%), urea reacts with resin components (methylolureas and UF oligomers mainly) that is, it participates in the curing of the adhesive. Tests of model samples of particleboards have shown that the mechanism of including urea into the structures of the curing resin is less effective for reducing toxicity than its action as a classical scavenger; at the same time, the formaldehyde content in particleboards with 3% ammonium sulfate and urea is lower in absolute values due to the useful effect of the curing agent. Modifiers-curing agents provide a low pH value of the binder before curing (3.72-4.51 with a content of modifiers-curing agents of 5%), urea in their composition is also involved in curing (according to solid-state NMR data)
Development and Characterization of Synthetic Paraffin Wax Scale for Oil field Scaling Studies
Paraffin scale deposition poses a significant challenge in various industries, including oil and gas production, where it leads to reduced operational efficiency and increased maintenance costs. This study focuses on the utilization of off-the-shelf household candle wax to simulate typical oilfield paraffin scale deposits and, simultaneously, to characterize them in order to gain deeper insights into their chemical, and compositional properties in relation to typical oilfield paraffin scale deposits. Controlled laboratory experiments were conducted to mimic paraffin scale deposition under conditions resembling those encountered in production systems. The deposition process was monitored and chemically characterized using advanced analytical techniques, such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. This analysis provided valuable information about the molecular composition of the deposits, including the types of paraffin involved and the presence of other organic and inorganic compounds. In conclusion, mimicking and characterizing the simulated paraffin scale deposits provide valuable insights into their behaviour and composition, shedding light on factors influencing paraffin deposition preservation. This knowledge is critical for the development of tailored solutions to mitigate or remove paraffin scale-related challenges, ultimately leading to improved operational efficiency and reduced economic impact across various industries.
