Psychometric analysis of the unidimensional student Burnout scale in the salvadoran university educational context
No full textEl burnout estudiantil es un fenómeno escasamente abordado en El Salvador, principalmente porque no hay herramientas válidas y confiables para medir este constructo. Por lo tanto, el propósito de este estudio es comprobar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala Unidimensional de Burnout Estudiantil (EUBE) en el contexto educativo universitario salvadoreño. El estudio es de tipo instrumental con diseño transversal. Se utilizó un muestreo de tipo bola de nieve, en el cual participaron 278 estudiantes universitarios. Hubo una participación mayormente del género femenino (61,9 %). La media de edad general fue de 25 años. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta digital. Los resultados por medio de la validez de constructo evidencian que el instrumento posee una estructura bidimensional en el contexto universitario salvadoreño. Además, los hallazgos indican que la escala cuenta con adecuada validez de criterio y confiabilidad. Se concluye que la EUBE tiene suficientes evidencias de validez y confiabilidad para ser utilizada en el contexto universitario salvadoreño.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5377/entorno.v1i76.17172Student burnout is a phenomenon that is rarely addressed in El Salvador, mainly because there are no valid and reliable tools to measure this construct. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to verify the psychometric properties of the Unidimensional Student Burnout Scale in the educational context of Salvadoran universities. The study is instrumental with a cross-sectional design. Snowball sampling generated a sample of 278 university students. There was mostly female participation (61,9 %). The average age was 25 years. The data collection technique used was the digital survey. The results obtained through construct validity show that the instrument has a two-dimensional structure in the Salvadoran university context. Furthermore, the findings indicate that the scale has adequate criterion validity and reliability. It is concluded that the Unidimensional Student Burnout Scale has sufficient evidence of validity and reliability for implementation in Salvadoran university contexts.

The internationalization of Salvadoran universities, importance, opportunities and implications of not internationalizing
No full textEl estudio se fundamenta en la importancia que tiene para las universidades la realización de intercambios estudiantiles, estudios en el extranjero, experiencias de aprendizaje para estudiantes, maestros e investigadores en el exterior; además de las oportunidades académicas que se abren, tanto para la Universidad como para el personal interno y promover la generación de conocimiento científico, tecnológico, sociocultural e innovador en todas las unidades de la Universidad. Se identificó la importancia de internacionalizar las universidades, específicamente la Universidad Francisco Gavidia (UFG), la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA) y la Universidad de El Salvador (UES), donde se entrevistaron a los encargados de internacionalización. La presente investigación cualitativa-cuantitativa se realizó con referencias bibliográficas sobre el trabajo que efectúan algunas universidades salvadoreñas y extranjeras sobre internacionalización, su importancia, oportunidades y retos; además se hizo una encuesta virtual con una muestra aleatoria de 165 docentes de tiempo completo y hora-clase, estudiantes, profesionales y bachilleres. La encuesta corrobora la importancia de la homologación, que es la piedra angular para que una carrera, un título universitario, tenga más prestigio a escala internacional. Preguntamos sobre aspectos importantes y beneficios que tiene una universidad cuando se internacionaliza: ¿sabe usted a qué se refiere la internacionalización de las universidades, ¿cuáles son para usted los beneficios más importantes de la internacionalización de la universidad donde usted estudia o estudió y cuáles son las desventajas de una universidad que no se internacionaliza? Las universidades deben tener una oficina encargada de la internacionalización, se debe hacer una reingeniería, buscar nuevas oportunidades con otros países, regiones y universidades para lograr prestigio y calidad en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El Ministerio de Educación, Ciencia y Tecnología (Mineducyt) propuso el Modelo de Internacionalización de la Educación Superior en El Salvador, siendo un punto importante en los planes estratégicos de las universidades.

URI: https://hdl.handle.net/11298/1360This study focuses on the relevance universities acquire when student exchange programs, study abroad programs, and learning abroad experiences for students, faculty and researchers are carried out. In addition to these, it also focuses on the academic opportunities that open up, for both the university and their staff, and to promote the generation of scientific, technological, sociocultural, and innovative knowledge in all the departments of the University. The importance of internationalizing universities was identified, specifically that of Universidad Francisco Gavidia (UFG, given its Spanish acronym), Universidad Centroamericana “José Simeón Cañas” (UCA, Spanish acronym) and Universidad de El Salvador (UES, Spanish acronym), where those in charge of the internationalization processes were interviewed. This qualitative-quantitative research was conducted using bibliographical references on the work carried out by some Salvadoran and foreign universities on internationalization: its importance, opportunities and challenges. In addition, an online survey was administered to a random sample of 165 full-time professors, associate professors, students, professionals, and high school graduates. The survey confrmed the relevance of recognition; the cornerstone for a career and a university degree is to have more international prestige. Important aspects and benefts that a university has when internationalizing were asked, such as do you know what the internationalization of universities refers to? What are the most important benefts of the internationalization of the university where you study or studied? What are the disadvantages of a university when it does not internationalize? Based on the results of this research, it has been concluded that universities must have an International Relations Office; a reengineering must be carried out where new opportunities with other countries, regions and universities should be sought after with the purpose of increasing prestige and quality in the teaching-learning process. The Ministerio de Educación, Ciencia y Tecnología (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, MINEDUCYT, given its Spanish acronym) proposed a Model for the Internationalization of Higher Education in El Salvador, being this an important constituent in the strategic plans of the universities.

Methodology for learning translation with a collaborative approach
No full textEn el presente ensayo se enfoca en el trabajo de traducción e interpretación vinculado con los métodos de enseñanza que se desarrolla a nivel de educación superior y se plantea el enfoque colaborativo el cual se basa en la interacción social donde existe un espacio de exploración que lleva a un grupo ya sea individual o colectivo a un objetivo de aprendizaje común donde cada uno aporta y enriquece dicho aprendizaje. El proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje es estructurado por el profesor, pero la principal responsabilidad de aprendizaje recae sobre el estudiante.
En este artículo se propone un enfoque colaborativo donde los participantes buscan mejorar su aprendizaje a través del trabajo conjunto lo cual estimula el pensamiento crítico , el autoestima y la responsabilidad. Así como también se hace una reseña histórica sobre los diferentes métodos de enseñanza -aprendizaje de una lengua y su influencia en la traducción e interpretación .
El trabajo de interpretación y traducción conlleva no solamente el dominio del idioma meta sino que también se integran una series de técnicas y estrategias que contribuyen a un mejor desempeño del traductor e intérprete lo que hace que la adquisición de estas y en especial la de enfoque colaborativo hace que se mejore el desempeño antes señalado.

URI: https://hdl.handle.net/11298/1362This essay focuses on the work of translation and interpretation linked to the teaching methods developed at the higher education level and proposes the collaborative approach which is based on social interaction where there is a space for exploration that leads a group either individually or collectively to a common learning objective where each one contributes and enriches such learning. The teaching-learning process is structured by the teacher but the main responsibility for learning lies with the student.
This article proposes a collaborative approach where participants seek to improve their learning through joint work, which stimulates critical thinking, self-esteem and responsibility. A historical review of the different language teaching-learning methods and their influence on translation and interpreting is also presented. The work of interpretation and translation involves not only the mastery of the target language but also the integration of a series of techniques and strategies that contribute to a better performance of the translator and interpreter, which means that the acquisition of these and especially the collaborative approach improves the above mentioned performance.

Contribution of MYPES to the generation of employment in the Eastern Zone of El Salvador
No full textLas Micro y Pequeñas Empresas (MYPES) son parte fundamental en la economía regional y global, es esencial comprender su contribución en la generación de empleo e impacto en la economía, por tanto, en este artículo se presta especial atención a su influencia actual. Se examina la importancia de contar con políticas económicas sólidas que respalden los esfuerzos de estas empresas, se abordan los factores que influyen en las MYPES para lograr su subsistencia y crecimiento económico. Así mismo se presentan los principales hallazgos obtenidos a partir de encuesta administrada a 347 microempresarios y 34 pequeños empresarios del oriente del país en 2023 y se proponen acciones puntuales para fortalecer el papel de las MYPES en la creación sostenible de empleos.

The importance of having solid economic policies that support the efforts of these companies is examined, the factors that influence MYPES to achieve their subsistence and economic growth are addressed. Likewise, the main findings obtained from a survey administered to 347 microentrepreneurs and 34 small entrepreneurs in the east of the country in 2023 are presented and specific actions are proposed to strengthen the role of MYPES in the sustainable creation of jobs.

Education for work or human development
No full textLa educación y el trabajo son dos constructos que se relacionan entre sí ya que permiten un buen desarrollo económico tanto del individuo como de la sociedad. El propósito de este trabajo es analizar el papel de la universidad en el contexto actual y destacar su tendencia en la formación para el mercado laboral en detrimento de la formación para el desarrollo humano. Se discuten elementos como el papel de la universidad en la preparación de profesionales para el mercado laboral y los retos de la educación superior en la formación profesional. Se concluye que la visión de la educación debe surgir de la dicotomía de una formación para el trabajo o humanística, donde no debe existir un conflicto entre ambas.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the role of the university in the current context and to highlight its tendency in training for the labor market to the detriment of training for human development. Elements such as the role of the university in preparing professionals for the labor market and the challenges of higher education in professional training are discussed. It is concluded that the vision of education must emerge from the dichotomy of a work or humanistic education, where there should not be a conflict between the two.
