    No full text
Geographies of Unsustainability - a Neopragmatic Regional Geography of Louisiana The aim of the project was to further develop the theoretical foundations of regional geography from a neopragmatist perspective and to combine theory and method using the example of the Louisiana region (USA) in the context of sustainable development. The focus was particularly on the media negotiation of this development, especially on internet-based communication. This resulted in three central research objectives: 1) basic theoretical research for the development of a neopragmatic framework with potential for horizontal geographies; 2) further development of media-geographical approaches under the aspect of digitalization; 3) conceptual linking of regional geographical analyses with future questions of sustainable development on the basis of Ralf Dahrendorf's life-chances approach. Louisiana was chosen as an exemplary case study because the region combines a variety of global and regional challenges, both physically and socially - such as resource management, environmental pollution, climate change, coastal erosion, social inequality and educational opportunities. The project results have been disseminated in numerous publications, lectures, courses and theses. The application of the neopragmatic approach to horizontal geographies proved to be successful and was also continued in subsequent projects. The particular relevance of the study was demonstrated by the effects of Hurricane Ida 2021, which impressively revealed the vulnerability of the region

    Potsdamer Zeitungskorpus - diachron

    No full text

    No full text
The dataset contains the data associated with organic residue analysis (ORA), including chromatograms in .csv and .MzML formats, alongside an Excel table detailing sampling information. This repository entry pertains to the ORA analysis, conducted in the laboratory of the University of Tübingen under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maxime Rageot (currently at the University of Bonn). The primary objective of this ORA analysis was to identfy the contenct of the amphora, especially because of a possible relationship between Lebanon and Cyprus. The protocol used for the solvent lipid extraction is the one explained at Mottram et al. 1999.GC and GC-MS analyses The analysis was performed by Gas Chromatography (GC) and GC-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) using an Agilent Technologies 7890B GC System series chromatograph including Agilent Technologies Capillary Flow-Technology Three-Way Splitter Kit coupled to an Agilent Technologies 5977A MSD and FID. The analyses were carried out using helium as a carrier gas, with a split/splitless injection system (Gerstel Multi-Purpose-Sampler and Gerstel Cold-Injection-System 4), operating in the splitless mode with a purge flow of 3.0 ml min–1 and a constant pressure at the head of the column of 8.6667 psi. Samples were analysed using an Agilent J&W DB-5HT-column (15 m × 0.32 mm i.d.; 0.1 μm film thickness) and divided in two equal parts using 0.18 mm non-coated, deactivated silica capillary columns (0.66 m splitter-column to FID/ 1.52 m splitter-column to MSD) with the Three-Way Splitter Kit. The inlet temperature was ramped from 30°C to 240°C at 12°C s-1 (held isothermally for 5 min) and then increased to 350°C at 12°C s-1 (held isothermally for 10 min). The temperature of the oven was set at 50 °C for 1 min followed by an increase to 100°C at 15°C min–1, then to 240°C at 6°C min–1 and to 350°C at 10°C min–1 (held isothermally for 20 min). Mass spectra were acquired using electron ionization at 70 eV and obtained by scanning between m/z 50–950 in 1.562 s. The interface and the ion source temperatures were 300°C and 280°C, respectively. The temperature of the FID detector was fixed at 340°C. Mass spectra were matched against the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) library, 2014 edition

Christiana Mariana von Ziegler: Moralische und vermischte Send-Schreiben. An einige Ihrer vertrauten und guten Freunde gestellet. Leipzig, bey Joh. Friedrich Brauns sel. Erben (VD18 14779447-001).

    No full text
From the perspective of European Enlightenment feminism, this is Ziegler's most important collection. In the programmatic preface, the author situates the one hundred essayistic letters—addressed to anonymous male and female recipients—within the tradition of French moralist epistolary writing, particularly that of Anne-Thérèse de Lambert (most notably the Lettres sur la véritable éducation, Amsterdam 1729). The letters are thematically closely aligned with Johann Christoph Gottsched's journal Die vernünfftigen Tadlerinnen (1725/26), in which Ziegler herself contributed under various pseudonyms. Across the collection, Ziegler adopts the role of advisor and confidante, as well as social, linguistic, and cultural critic. The letters address topics traditionally coded as feminine: education, marriage, but also aesthetic and social debates, such as the status of opera, where she openly challenges Gottsched's views. Some letters also reflect a distinctly female adaptation of the contemporary cult of friendship. Despite their thematic variety, the letters revolve around a central concern: women's enlightenment through study and reading. As a perceptive observer of the pan-European Querelle des femmes, Ziegler kept abreast of the latest natural-law debates on gender equality, especially as they were conducted within Gottsched's circle. For her, women's education was a rational and useful goal, one that could be harmonized with both the ideals of marriage and the Protestant bourgeois ethos of work.
