No full textDit bestand bevat voor immigranten met een niet-EU/EFTA-nationaliteit het migratiemotief van de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) van het ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid. Voor immigranten met een nationaliteit van één van de EU/EFTA-landen is het afgeleid migratiedoel bepaald op basis van het feitelijk geregistreerde gedrag van de immigrant uit informatie in het Stelsel van Sociaal Statistische Bestanden. Met ingang van dit datamodel is de methode gewijzigd. Voor immigranten met een niet-EU/EFTA-nationaliteit is de asielmigratie onderscheiden in asielmigratie (exclusief nareis) en asielmigratie: nareis. Tevens is voor immigranten met een niet-EU/EFTA-nationaliteit de gezinsmigratie (naast het al bestaande onderscheid in gezinshereniging en gezinsvorming) onderscheiden in gezinsmigranten die zich bij een immigrant voegen die gelijktijdig of eerder naar Nederland is gekomen (de referent) vanwege motief arbeid, asiel of studie. Voor immigranten met een EU/EFTA-nationaliteit is de gezinsmigratie onderscheiden in gezinsmigranten die zich bij een immigrant voegen die gelijktijdig of eerder naar Nederland is gekomen (de referent) vanwege motief arbeid of studie.
Bij de IND wordt per immigrant maar één migratiemotief vastgelegd. Deze component bevat het motief van de eerste migratiebeweging vanaf 1998. Als een persoon een tweede keer naar Nederland immigreert met een ander motief, komt deze persoon tweemaal in de component voor met hetzelfde (eerste) migratiemotief. Er worden 15 verschillende IND-migratiemotieven onderscheiden. Voor de afgeleide migratiedoelen van EU/EFTA immigranten geldt dat er meerdere doelen tegelijkertijd kunnen voorkomen. De volgende afgeleide doelen worden onderscheiden: - gezinsmigratie; - arbeidsmigratie; - studiemigratie
