Fetal brain development
Fetal brain development was assessed via fetal ultrasounds carried out by sonographers during visits to the research center using standardized techniques. Brain measures included transcerebellar diameter and atrial width of lateral ventricles and were done. The atrial width of the lateral ventricle is the widest diameter of the atrium of one of the lateral ventricles that can be measured in an axial plane. A slightly caudal rotated axial plane was used for measuring the transcerebellar diameter as the widest diameter across both hemispheres of the cerebellum
