    Cohorts of 18-year-olds

    No full text
These are similar to the initial population file. These files also describe a population. However, rather than being representative of the whole adult US population, they are representative of the population of 18-year-olds in 2015 (Wave 2 of the PATH study), 2016 (Wave 3), and 2017 (Wave 4). The 'postban population profile' is used some years after the simulated menthol ban--it is based on the Wave 4 cohort of 18-year-olds, but has much less smokers while maintaining the same overall population. These are used to add new population into the simulation each year so that we can continue to simulate the whole adult population

CBCS3 Baseline and Follow-up Data Dictionaries

    No full text
This dataset contains non-identifiable data dictionaries, codebooks, and analytic scripts developed for the Carolina Breast Cancer Study Phase 3 (CBCS3). The materials support transparency and reproducibility of analyses using CBCS3 data. No participant-level or identifiable data are included. Files include baseline and follow-up data dictionaries, variable descriptions, and sample R/SAS code used for metadata processing and harmonization. Data Sharing Process The Carolina Breast Cancer Study (CBCS) welcomes collaboration requests from credentialed researchers, as well as their post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. Because CBCS is an ongoing study involving sensitive participant information, we have strong ethical and moral responsibilities to protect participant privacy. Accordingly, most proposed projects must be reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). Additionally, CBCS cannot share certain data where complete de-identification is not yet possible. As you develop your study question, please use the information provided in this Dataverse to determine whether CBCS contains the data necessary to address your research goals. Once ready, complete and submit the Data Sharing Interest Form. Your submission will be reviewed by Dr. Melissa Troester, Principal Investigator, to ensure scientific merit and to confirm that CBCS has sufficient data to support your proposed work. After initial review, you may be invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). If approved, final authorization will come from the CBCS Steering Committee. Upon Steering Committee approval, and once the study team receives confirmation of IRB approval, a signed Data Use Agreement (DUA), and an Authorship Acknowledgment Form, the requested data will then be made available to you in accordance with CBCS data sharing policies. Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows If you are a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow working under the direction of the CBCS Principal Investigator, a Co-Investigator, or a member of the Steering Committee, please submit your proposal through the link below or contact the Project Director for further instructions.
