    Noise-cancellation algorithm for simulations of Brownian particles

    <p>We investigate the usage of a recently introduced noise-cancellation algorithm for Brownian simulations to enhance the precision of measuring transport properties such as the mean-square displacement or the velocityautocorrelation function. The algorithm is based on explicitly storing the pseudorandom numbers used to create the randomized displacements in computer simulations and subtracting them from the simulated trajectories. The resulting correlation function of the reduced motion is connected to the target correlation function up to a crosscorrelation term. Using analytical theory and computer simulations, we demonstrate that the cross-correlation term can be neglected in all three systems studied in this paper. We further expand the algorithm to Monte Carlo simulations and analyze the performance of the algorithm and rationalize that it works particularly well for unbounded, weakly interacting systems in which the precision of the mean-square displacement can be improved by orders of magnitude.</p><p> </p&gt

    Emergence of Band Structure in a Two-Dimensional Metal–Organic Framework upon Hierarchical Self-Assembly

    <p>Two-dimensional metal−organic frameworks (2D-MOFs) rep-resent a category of atomically thin materials that combine the structural tunability of molecular systems with the crystalline structure characteristic of solids. The strong bonding between the organic linkers and transition metal centers is expected to result in delocalized electronic states. However, itr emains largely unknown how the band structure in 2D-MOFs emerges through the coupling of electronic states in the building blocks. Here, we demonstrate the on-surface synthesis of a 2D-MOF exhibiting prominent π-conjugation. Through a combined experimental and theoretical approach, we provide direct evidence of band structure formation upon hierarchical self-assembly, going from metal−organic complexes to a conjugated two-dimensional framework. Additionally, we identify the robustly dispersive nature of the emerging hybrid states, irrespective of the metallic support type, highlighting the tunability of the band structure through charge transfer from the substrate. Our findings encourage the exploration of band-structure engineering in 2D-MOFs for potential applications in electronics and photonics</p&gt

    <p><strong>Multiomic profiling of medulloblastoma reveals subtype-specific targetable alterations at the proteome and N-glycan level</strong></p><p>Medulloblastomas (MBs) are malignant pediatric brain tumors that are molecularly and clinically very heterogenous.The application of omics technologies – mainly studying nucleic acids – has significantly improved MB classification and stratification, but treatment options are still unsatisfactory. The proteome and their N-glycans reflect the phenotype of a tumor in a more direct way and thus hold the potential to discover clinically relevant phenotypes and targetable pathways. We compiled a harmonized proteome dataset of 167 MBs and integrated findings with DNA methylome and N-glycome data. Six proteome MB subtypes emerged, that could be assigned to two main molecular programs: transcription/translation (pSHHt, pWNT and pGroup3myc), and synapses/immunological processes (pSHHs, pGroup3 and pGroup4). Multiomic analysis revealed different conservation levels of proteome features across MB subtypes at the DNA methylome level. Aggressive pGroup3myc MBs and favourable pWNT MBs were most similar in cluster hierarchies concerning overall proteome patterns but showed different protein abundances of the vincristine resistance-associated multiprotein complex TriC/CCT and of N-glycan turnover-associated factors. The N-glycome reflected proteome subtypes and complex-bisecting N-glycans characterized pGroup3myc tumors. Our results shed light on new targetable alterations in MB and set a foundation for potential immunotherapies targeting glycan structures.</p><p> </p&gt

    Rationalizing the "Anomalous" Electrochemical Stark Shift of CO at Pt(111) Through Vibrational Spectroscopy and Density-Functional Theory Calculations

    <p><i><strong>Raw data for the publication DOI:</strong> </i>https://doi.org/10.1016/j.susc.2025.122694</p><p>We employ infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS) and first-principles density-functional theory (DFT) to revisit the reported "anomalous" negative Stark shift of the CO stretch frequency at Pt(111) in aqueous electrolyte. Our comprehensive IRRAS measurements confirm the existence of a potential region with negative Stark shift around 0.5 V vs. the reversible hydrogen electrode, but only at a sufficiently high CO concentration in the electrolyte. As these are exactly the same conditions for the occurrence of a phase transition from a (2×2)-3CO to a (√19×√19)R23.4°-13CO adsorbate structure, we explicitly compute the Stark shift for these two phases using DFT. Neither phase exhibits a negative Stark shift, but the absolute stretch frequencies of the atop CO in the two structures are slightly shifted with respect to each other. Remeasuring IRRAS with high resolution indeed reveals a doublet character of the absorption band in the potential region corresponding to the negative Stark shift. Separate fits of the two components then yield positive Stark shifts in quantitative agreement with the calculated values. The "anomalous" negative Stark shift simply arises from effectively fitting one component to a doublet spectral feature in a potential range with phase coexistence at the surface.</p&gt

Multimodale Videozitate, Verwertungspraktiken und Reflexivität auf TikTok'</h2><h3>Beschreibung</h3><p>Dieses Repositorium enthält die Transkripte, Metadaten und multimodalen Videotranskripte der analysierten TikTok-Videos, die im Rahmen des Aufsatzes "In der Schnipselwerkstatt. Multimodale Videozitate, Verwertungspraktiken und Reflexivität auf TikTok" von Daniel Pfurtscheller untersucht wurden. Die Daten bieten Einblicke in die Praktiken der Rekontextualisierung und die kommunikativen Funktionen von Videozitaten auf TikTok, insbesondere durch die Verwendung der Stitch- und Duett-Features.</p><h3>Inhalt</h3><p>Das Repositorium enthält zwei Hauptkategorien von Daten: Duett-Chains und Stitch-Videos.</p><p><strong>Die Duett-Chains umfassen:</strong></p><ul><li>Metadaten zu den analysierten Videos, die umfassende Informationen über die Videos, Benutzer und Daten der Duett-Verkettungen bieten.</li><li>Multimodale Videotranskripte in Form von MP4-Dateien, die eine umfassende Darstellung der Duett-Verkettungen bieten, einschließlich visueller und textueller Informationen.</li><li>Untertitel-Dateien im SRT- und VTT-Format.</li><li>Vollständige Text-Transkripte der Duett-Verkettungen.</li></ul><p><strong>Die Stitch-Videos umfassen:</strong></p><ul><li>Bilddateien im PNG-Format, die Szenen aus den Videos zeigen.</li><li>Vollständige Text-Transkripte der Videos, die den Inhalt der analysierten TikTok-Videos dokumentieren.</li></ul><p>Aus forschungsethischen Gründen sind in diesem Repositorium keine Originalvideos enthalten. Die untersuchten TikTok-Videos enthalten oft personenbezogene Daten und visuelle Darstellungen von Einzelpersonen, deren Weiterverbreitung ohne ausdrückliche Zustimmung problematisch sein kann.
