Cultural knowledge of students for primary school teachers: A scoping review
Primary school teachers can enhance their teaching and provide inclusive education by using their students’ cultural knowledge. Cultural knowledge, however, is a broad term and is often used as an abstract concept. To make this more concrete, we identified, organized, and categorized the concept of cultural knowledge through a scoping review. A literature search was conducted in five databases and we included 96 articles. We identified twelve domains that were related to the students themselves, their families, and their communities. For example, students’ ethnic background, families’ home characteristics, and cultural identity. By concretizing the domains, schools and teachers can delve into the cultural knowledge of students and enrich their teaching in multicultural settings. Additionally, this research contributes to a conceptual understanding of cultural knowledge, providing a foundation for further research and practical application in educational settings to improve teaching strategies in multicultural settings.Primary school teachers can enhance their teaching and provide inclusive education by using their students' cultural knowledge. Ontwerpprincipes binnen docentprofessionalisering op de Hanze
Sinds vorig schooljaar worden 14 docenten van de Hanze middels een tweejarige leergang ‘Expert formatief handelen’ geprofessionaliseerd door Toetsrevolutie. In het eerste jaar ligt de focus van de leergang op het bijbrengen van kwaliteitsbesef, het ontwerpen van handelingsgerichte onderzoeksprocessen en het organiseren van transformatieve feedbackprocessen (Kneyber et al., 2022). Omdat er relatief weinig onderzoek gedaan is naar docentprofessionalisering in het hoger onderwijs (Vermunt et al., 2024), wordt onderzocht wat de effectieve ontwerpprincipes zijn van de leergang binnen de context van de Hanze. Gegevens worden verzameld bij de ontwerper van de leergang middels logboeken en interviews, en bij docenten middels interviews. De resultaten van het eerste jaar laten zien dat de ontwerpprincipes zoals beoogd door de ontwerper en ervaren door de docenten overeenkomen met de vier groepen ontwerpprincipes voor effectieve docentprofessionalisering zoals onderscheiden door Sims et al (2023), maar ook dat daarbinnen enkele context en doel specifieke ontwerpcriteria te onderscheiden zijn

Co-mentoring within a music-in-hospitals practice:On establishing spaces of dialogue in transdisciplinary practices
This article explores the integration of a co-mentoring scheme within the participatory music practice of Meaningful Music in Healthcare (MiMiC) in Dutch medical hospitals. Building upon prior research that revealed a shared aspiration among MiMiC musicians and nurses to enhance collaborative efforts, the study explores the role of interprofessional collaboration not only for the immediate impact of music on people in the hospital environment but also for nurturing the sustained growth of the professionals involved. This article explores the implications and outcomes of a co-mentoring scheme, which took place in the form of reflective conversations between participating musicians and nurses, and examine their form, the relationships they foster within the MiMiC practice, and their contribution to interprofessional collaboration in transdisciplinary arts and health practices

Software architecture for machine learning to aid sustainable digital transformation:A systematic mapping study
Context: Rapid developments and adoption of machine learning-based software solutions have enabled novel ways to tackle our societal problems. The ongoing digital transformation has led to the incorporation of these software solutions in just about every application domain. Software architecture for machine learning applications used during sustainable digital transformation can potentially aid the evolution of the underlying software system adding to its sustainability over time. Objective: Software architecture for machine learning applications in general is an open research area. When applying it to sustainable digital transformation it is not clear which of its considerations actually apply in this context. We therefore aim to understand how the topics of sustainable digital transformation, software architecture, and machine learning interact with each other. Methods: We perform a systematic mapping study to explore the scientific literature on the intersection of sustainable digital transformation, machine learning and software architecture. Results: We have found that the intersection of interest is small despite the amount of works on its individual aspects, and not all dimensions of sustainability are represented equally. We also found that application domains are diverse and include many important sectors and industry groups. At the same time, the perceived level of maturity of machine learning adoption by existing works seems to be quite low. Conclusion: Our findings show an opportunity for further software architecture research to aid sustainable digital transformation, especially by building on the emerging practice of machine learning operations. Stepwise development of an implementation protocol to support the prescription of Exercise = Medicine by clinicians using the Implementation Mapping approach
Several barriers, such as lack of time, knowledge and support, hinder clinicians from providing an individually tailored physical activity (PA) prescription and referral to their patients. As a result, "exercise is medicine" (E = M) is not systematically implemented in clinical care today. Many studies have identified facilitators and barriers to implementation, yet linking these factors to tailored implementation strategies is still an under-researched area. Therefore, this study aimed to apply Implementation Mapping to develop an implementation protocol to support the individually tailored PA prescription in hospital care. We used strong stakeholder participation and, we applied the five tasks of the systematic Implementation Mapping approach to match implementation strategies to implementation barriers and facilitators identified through interviews with clinicians working at two university hospitals in the Netherlands. We identified clinicians as primary actors. Secondary actors were managers of the departments and stakeholders in the broader context. For each actor group, performance objectives were defined. We matched previously identified facilitators and barriers to theory and evidence-informed implementation strategies from the Effective Practice and Organisation of Care taxonomy using the CFIR Strategy Matching Tool. Next, we translated these implementation strategies (e.g., active learning, audit, and feedback, technical assistance, peer education) into practical activities to support the implementation of the E = M tool, such as training for clinicians, creating overviews of possible local exercise referral options, and appointing role models for clinicians. Lastly, these activities were bundled into an implementation protocol. The implementation protocol consisted of a set of implementation activities to support and guide clinicians during the adoption, implementation, and sustainability process of the prescription of E = M. All activities were supported by implementation tools, practical applications, and materials while allowing tailoring to the specific clinical context. This study illustrates the application of Implementation Mapping to design an implementation protocol to support and guide the prescription of E = M by clinicians in the hospital environment, using strong stakeholder participation in the development process.
