"Primary hyperparathyroidism in children: assessment of the state of bone tissue before and after treatment"
Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of the bone form of primary hyperparathyroidism in childre
Features Of Helminth Infections In Clinical Pediatrics: Issues Of Diagnosis, Therapy, Prevention
The article shows the relevance of helminthiasis in pediatrics, the difficulties of diagnosis, modern approaches to therapy and prevention. The role of albendazole in the treatment of helminthiasis in children has been note
Methylation reactions of quinazolin-4-thione
methylation of quinazoline-4-thione with methyl iodide, dimethylsulfate and methyltosylate in various solvents was studied. It is shown that the reaction proceeds to N3, O4 and N1 atoms depending on the nature of the alkylating agent, solvent and temperature
Nipple Discharge, Imaging Evaluation and therapeutic approaches (Prospective study to 172 patients)
When diagnosing nipple discharge, the doctor has a significant problem. Multiple disorders (including intraductal papillomas, nipple discharge can be a sign of several medical conditions, including mammary duct ectasia, breast cancer, pituitary adenomas, breast abscesses/infections, and more. The potential correlation between nipple discharge and underlying cancer makes it an important medical and patient concern. More and more women are seeking medical advice for nipple discharge as the public's understanding of breast cancer grows. Determining the etiology, assessing the risk of malignancy, and planning therapy of the patient with nipple discharge requires a thorough clinical assessment. Mammography, breast ultrasonography, and perhaps galactography are all diagnostic tools that can assist the doctor in making a diagnosis and developing a treatment strategy. A central or single lactiferous duct excision may be recommended as the surgery to undergo when diagnosing breast disease. For breast cancer patients experiencing nipple discharge, the recommended course of treatment is either a modified radical mastectomy or breast-conservation therapy, which involves duct-lobular segmentectomy with sufficient, free margins (preferably greater than 1 cm), axillary lymph node dissection at levels I and II, and radiotherapy to the breasts. Methods and patients The research will begin in October 2020 and follow 172 patients at the teaching hospital until October 2021. This research just involved female participants. All of the patients who participated in our research reported nipple discharge as their primary complaint. All patients had clinical examinations, mammograms, ultrasounds, and cytology. Patients who reported with nipple discharge and a suspected breast lump were evaluated using Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) and a final histological investigation
Surgical Management of Cholelithiasis Cross-sectional study of 41 patients
Gallstones may be biochemically categorized into three types: cholesterol stones, brown pigment stones, and black pigment stones. There are two potential anatomical locations for gall stones: choledocholithiasis (in the common bile duct) and cholelithiasis (in the gall bladder). Gallstones can be symptomatic (showing symptoms) or asymptomatic (not showing symptoms). Low bile salt levels, impaired gall bladder motility, a high-cholesterol diet, and other similar factors are the main causes of gallstones. Factors that increase the likelihood of gall stones developing include being overweight, being female, having a history of the condition in the family, losing weight quickly, and not getting enough vitamin B12 or folic acid. Acute cholecystitis and feverish sickness characterized by right upper quadrant discomfort and tenderness (Murphy sign) are among the clinical manifestation
Preclinical toxicological study of the lipid concentrates of snakes of the genus Eryx
Acute and chronic toxicity of lipid concentrate of Eryx snakes was studied on sexually mature white mice and rats. It was found that in experimental animals in the period after acute and chronic application of lipid concentrate of Eryx snakes there are no significant changes in anthropometric, biochemical, haematological and pathomorpholigical parameters, which allows to refer lipid concentrate of Eryx snakes to practically non-toxic compounds. The results of acute and chronic toxicity studies indicate the harmlessness of lipid concentrate of Eryx snakes
Forecasting the future path of HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years in Colombia using Holt’s double exponential smoothing model
This study uses annual time series data of HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years for Colombia from 1990 to 2020 to predict future trends of HIV prevalence over the period 2021 to 2030. The study utilizes Holt’s double exponential smoothing model. The optimal values of smoothing constants α and β are 0.9 and 0.1 respectively based on minimum MSE. The results of the study indicate that annual HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years will remain around 0.4% throughout the out of sample period. Therefore, we encourage authorities to scale up HIV case detection, treatment and prevention especially among key populations and vulnerable groups
Forecasting HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years in Benin using Holt’s double exponential smoothing technique
This study uses annual time series data of HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years for Benin from 1990 to 2020 to predict future trends of HIV prevalence over the period 2021 to 2030. The study utilizes Holt’s double exponential smoothing model. The optimal values of smoothing constants α and β are 0.9 and 0.1 respectively based on minimum MSE. The results of the study indicate that annual HIV prevalence among individuals aged 15-49 years will continue to decline over the out of sample period. Therefore, policy makers must continue implementing effective HIV control strategies as well as strengthen HIV detection and treatment among key populations
Histological Analysis and Diagnosis of Dementia
Dementia is a widespread condition in the elderly, resulting from the damage and death of brain cells. One of the most common forms of this disease is Alzheimer's disease; however, other forms, including Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and vascular dementia, also exist. These conditions exhibit various pathological changes in different areas of the brain, which reflect in the clinical symptoms of the disease. Histological analysis of dementia is one of the primary methods for understanding the disease, diagnosing it, and identifying its stages of progression. Through these analyses, the pathology of nerve cells, including neurofibrillary tangles, amyloid plaques, Lewy bodies, and other histological changes, is identified. These changes are associated with the damage to neurons and their connections, leading to cognitive and neurological dysfunction
Exploring the Connection Between Hyperuricemia and Cardiovascular Disease in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease
This study explores the relationship between hyperuricemia and various cardiovascular risk factors in patients diagnosed with ischemic heart disease (IHD). A comparison was made between two groups: patients with hyperuricemia and IHD (Group 1) and a control group without IHD (Group 2). Results indicate significant differences in thale volume, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and lipoprotein levels, suggesting that hyperuricemia may exacerbate cardiovascular risks. These findings underscore the need for routine monitoring and management of uric acid levels in at-risk populations
