NIRS Database on intact fresh yam for Dry Matter at IITA, Nigeria
Spectra of intact fresh pieces of yam tubers, transverse position PT(proximal top), MT(middle top), MB(middle back), and AxB(axial back) were collected. Dry matter analysis was also done on the same samples ie 8 spectra per genotyp

Consumer Testing Data on Boiled Potato generated by CIP in Uganda
This dataset contains data generated during the Activity 5 or Step 4 - Consumer Testing in Rural and Urban Areas performed by the CIP team in Uganda on Boiled Potato, within the RTBfoods project (following the Methodological Guidance and its supplement).
This dataset may contain diverse type of anonymized data (e‧g. questionnaires, cleaned and processed data) which is to be available on open access following a 2-years embargo after the end of the RTBfoods project (embargo ending date: 15 March 2025)
This dataset may also contain non-anonymized data (e‧g. raw data, consent forms signed by interviewees) which cannot be made publicly available, at any time; non-anonymized data is contained in the .tar‧gz file. For more information about the content of the .tar‧gz file, you are invited to contact the authors mentioned in the metadata
NIRS Database on fresh blended yam for color at IITA, Nigeria
The database for blended fresh yam for color properties measurements consists of 394 spectra data collected using the benchtop FOSS Near Infrared Spectrometer with serial number 3013-0857. The spectra comprise 100 ascensions of Dioscorea rotundata and 98 of Dioscorea alata that were scanned in duplicate. The Spectra data were collected in IITA, Nigeria, in the year 2019/2020. The fresh yam samples were blended using a laboratory Warren Blender and then filled into the coarse cup of the NIRS machine for spectra collection
Participatory Processing Data on Fried Sweetpotato generated by CIP in Ghana
This dataset contains data generated during the Activity 4 or Step 3 - Participatory Processing Diagnosis and Quality Characteristics performed by the CIP team in Ghana on Fried Sweetpotato, within the RTBfoods project (following the Methodological Guidance).
This dataset may contain diverse types of anonymized data (e‧g. questionnaires, processing parameters, cleaned and processed data) which is to be available on open access following a 2-years embargo after the end of the RTBfoods project (embargo ending date: 15 March 2025)
This dataset may also contain non-anonymized data (e‧g. raw data, consent forms signed by interviewees) which cannot be made publicly available, at any time; non-anonymized data is contained in the .tar‧gz file.
Sorghum WCA-BCNAM data
Data used for the publication: "Characterization of adaptation mechanisms in sorghum using a multi-reference back-cross nested association mapping design and envirotyping"
Genetic data: 51'545 SNP markers for 3901 genotypes from three population (Grinkan, Kenin-Keni, Lata3)
Phenotypic data: multi-environment phenotypic data for several traits covering: flag leaf appearance (FLAG), plant height (PH), number of internode (NODE_N), average length of the internode (NODE_L), pedundle lenght (PED_L), panicle lenght (PAN_L), grain weight (GWGHT), grain yield (YIELD)

NIRS Database on intact fresh cassava using portable device for starch at NRCRI, Nigeria
Cassava breeders aim at producing many clones rapidly with desired nutritional and agronomic traits. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a physical detection method that was developed in recent decades. This technique is based on the correlation between chemical properties and the absorption of light at specific wavelengths in the near-infrared region. A rapid and accurate method for determining starch yield of cassava root will be valuable and help the breeders in selecting clones with good traits from a large population in breeding programmes.
This data base contain the spectra of fresh intact cassava genotypes harvested at NRCRI, Umudike, Nigeria (between August and September 2020) with the use of Portable/handheld NIRS (Quality SpecTrek). A total number of 3168 spectra were acquired from 176 (one hundred and seventy six) clones of fresh intact cassava roots for determining starch yield of the fresh cassava roots. Three different sizes of cassava roots (big, medium and small sized) were cut in horizontal positions C1(proximal), C3(central), C5(distal). Calibration model developed for the starch yield showed the mean and standard deviation to be 20.39 and 3.80 respectively with the standard error of laboratory at 0.89. An SOP on the protocol for the determination of starch yield on fresh intact cassava root using a handheld NIRS has been linked to this database. The ASD hand-held NIRS was acquired by NRCRI (National Root Crops Research Institute) Umudike Nigeria in the year 2016
