NIRS calibration database on fresh yam for texture at CIRAD, Guadeloupe
"This database contains 1017 NIR spectra of fresh slices of yam acquired in CIRAD (Guadeloupe), by using ASD Labspec5000 NIR spectrometer. Yam harvested at INRAE Godet Station (Guadeloupe) from one field with the various varieties and one year 2022 (harvests from February 7 to March 31)
The database contains also laboratory data measured on the same yam samples: texture measurements were recorded after 15 minutes of cooking and 7 minutes of temperature stabilization (to assess 45 °C) by penetrometry test (hardness 5mm (N); hardness max (N); Distance à F max; Aire dist; gradient 5-hmax; gradient 0-5; hardness 10mm (N)); the Dry matter values (DM) correspond to dry matter content measured after freeze-drying of the yam pieces

Genotyping By Sequencing with ApekI enzyme of 600 accessions from 3 genetic group (O. sativa indica, O. sativa japonica and O. glaberrima). Plant material was collected through two collection campaigns in Conakry Guinea. The first campaign took place in 1979 and 1982 (Bezançon et al. 1983). The second collection campaign was undertaken in 2011 by scientists from Cirad and IRAG. NIRS Database on fresh blended yellow cassava for DM, HCN, TCC, TBC & cooking time at CIAT, Colombia
The database contains biophysical data (DM, HCN, TCC, TBC, cooking time) and NIRS data of 1056 samples of biofortified (yellow) cassava harvested at CIAT over several years (2016-2019). NIRS data was recorded on fresh blended cassava roots, using a Foss 6500 instrument. The objective of the study is to investigate correlations between biophysical data and NIRS data, using different statistical approaches to identify the one(s) that works best. Deep learning algorithms will also be tested to assess their potential for more accurate NIRS calibrations

The data comprise presence and abundance of invasive alien plants (IAS) in differents areas in La Reunion. The method of abundance measurement used is the protocol of Macdonald in 1989, 2010, 2013 and 2023. This protocol involves visually evaluating the abundance of IAP along transects of varying sizes, divided into severals segments averaging 100 m, in disturbed (road) and undisturbed environments ( trail)
NIRS Database on fresh grated cassava for softness at NaCRRI, Uganda
Cassava root softness is one of the important consumer acceptability traits for boiled root cassava product. Thus determination of fresh root softness using relevant phenotyping tools makes it possible to select cassava varieties with preferred farmer attributes. The fresh grated cassava for softness database was created out of the RTB clones established at NaCRRI. The samples constituting this database were harvested in 2019 where 58 genotypes were considered. The database is powered by the standard operating procedure on acquiring spectra from fresh grated roots using the FOSS DS2500 equipment. Given logistical and technical constraints, the database consists of 36 of the 58 genotypes RTB panel genotypes. Spectra from these genotypes were obtained from fresh grated immediately after harvest. At the same time, reference information related to the softness of the root was generated using a penetrometer and texture analyzer. Calibration on the same showed weaker association of the trait (r<0.4) with spectra acquired. This shows that relevant adjustments in methodologies to acquire spectra and number of clones used are needed to fully determine the potential of NIRS to determine root softness in cassava
