Information audit: procedures and its place in information chains
No full textA research project explored information auditing. For
this information management technique there are no
agreed standards and little explicit recognition of what
constitute the basic steps. Through a critical examination
of published literature common key stages were
identified, extracted and plotted on a series of matrices
for analysis. The findings highlight the necessary stages of
an information audit, comment on good practice
identified,and explore some features only applicable in
certain circumstances

role. Those who hoped that the library
supply industry would have stabilised in the years

and Library Licence have been disappointed. more study is needed into then selection, acquisition and management of
materials other than books in public libraries. Best
practice needs to be shared. Replication of
the survey of American Association
of Publishers and the American Library
Association could provide a valuable context for
future studies of the trade
Virtual reality interface for accessing electronic information.

new interface for access to electronic information,
with particular emphasis on the need for a
tridimensional metaphor designed specially to improve

Get PDFSince the \u27Piper Alpha\u27 disaster in 1988 the system of regulating occupational health and safety in the offshore oil and gas industry has been the subject of radical reorganization. During vacation employment in the Safety and Environment Department of a North Sea oil producer during 1993 the difficulties that can arise in identifying a particular regulation or in obtaining a specific document were experienced at first hand. Standard bibliographic tools do not identify sources of health and safety information specific to the industry and it was felt that further guidance would be beneficial
