S4F: Fuel Loads, Fuel Moisture, Fuel Consumption and Fire Emissions for the Cerrado Amazon Region

    No full text
This repository provides datasets of fuels and fire emissions for the Amazon and Cerrado that were derived and analysed in the publication by Forkel et al. (2024). This publication demonstrates the first application and benchmarking of the TUD.S4F and KNMI.S5p approaches to estimate fire emissions and to investigate the effects of woody debris on fire emissions. TUD.S4F, developed at TUD Dresden University of Technology, is a satellite data-model fusion approach that combines several satellite products to estimate fuel loads, fuel moisture, fuel consumption, and fire emissions. Emission factors are computed dynamically depending on fuel type and fuel composition. TUD.S4F (version 0.2) is described in the Methods and Supplementary material of Forkel et al. (2024) and the related model code is available here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14274230. TUD-S4F provides fuel loads, fuel consumption and fire emissions at a spatial resolution of 333 x 333 m and aggregated to 0.1 x 0.1° for the Amazon/Cerrado for the period 2014-01-01 to 2021-10-20 at 10-daily time step. KNMI.S5p provides fire emission for carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NO) derived from Sentinel-5p observations. The data is provided at 0.1 x 0.1° and at daily time step for the year 2020. Both TUD.S4F and KNMI.S5p are products of the Sense4Fire projected, awarded from the European Space Agency to TU Dresden, the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) and BeZero Carbon Ltd

Colloidal probe atomic force microscopy measurements on pristine gas bubbles, agglomerates and particle-laden gas bubbles

    No full text
This dataset contains experimental Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) force-displacement measurements of poorly wetted alumina particles (colloidal probes) < 15 µm interacting with pristine gas bubbles, agglomerates and particle-laden gas bubbles (hetero-coagulates) in an aqueous environment. The data was generated in the context of the Collaborative Research Center CRC 920 (Project ID 169148856 – subproject B04) that is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The data set is of interest for researches that study the agglomeration or hetero-coagulation in liquid environment, and it is expected to be of particular interest to those that are concerned with the simulation and modeling of these processes (for example by Discrete Element Method). The AFM raw data was baseline corrected to increase the accessibility of the data sets to those less familiar with the AFM. A detailed interpretation of the AFM data in this repository is found in https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.langmuir.3c01781 and https://doi.org/10.1016/j.colsurfa.2024.134660

    Micro-CT Data of Calibration Phantom

    No full text
Projections of calibration phantom captured by a µCT system. The calibration phantom was build using a acrylic glass cylinder and steel ball bearings. The data set was captured as part of the investigation in to the calibration of the used µCT system. For more details and information see the publication: https://doi.org/10.3390/s2416513

Datasets for paper "ReACKed QUICer: Measuring the Performance of Instant Acknowledgments in QUIC Handshakes"

    No full text
This dataset contains Qlog and packet captures to measure the Performance of Instant Acknowledgements in (i) an emulated testbed and (ii) CDNs. See https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13743301 Abstract: In this paper, we present a detailed performance analysis of QUIC instant ACK, a standard-compliant approach to reduce waiting times during the QUIC connection setup in common CDN deployments. To understand the root causes of the performance properties, we combine numerical analysis and the emulation of eight QUIC implementations using the QUIC Interop Runner. Our experiments comprehensively cover packet loss and non-loss scenarios, different round trip times, and TLS certificate sizes. To clarify instant ACK deployments in the wild, we conduct active measurements of 1M popular domain names. For almost all domain names under control of Cloudflare, Cloudflare uses instant ACK, which in fact improves performance. We also find, however, that instant ACK may lead to unnecessary retransmissions or longer waiting times under some network conditions, raising awareness of drawbacks of instant ACK in the future

Manually delineated glacier calving front locations of 20 marine-terminating glaciers of the Antarctic Peninsula from 2013 to 2023

    No full text
This dataset provides 312 manually delineated glacier calving front positions of 20 marine-terminating glaciers of the Antarctic Peninsula from 2013 to 2023. For manual delineation, we used optical Landsat-8 and Landsat-9 imagery. We provide ocean masks and frontal positions as Polygon/LineString Shapefiles and in a georeferenced tif format. The following glaciers are included in this data record: Birley Glacier, Bleriot Glacier, Boydell Glacier, Cayley Glacier, Crane Glacier, Dinsmore-Bombardier-Edgeworth Glacier system, Drygalski Glacier, Drummond Glacier, Fleming Glacier, Hariot Glacier, Hektoria-Green-Evans Glacier system, Hugi Glacier, Jorum Glacier, Murphy Wilkinson Glacier, Prospect Glacier, Punchbowl Glacier, Sjogren Glacier, Stringfellow Glacier, Trooz Glacier and Widdowson Glacier
