Federated Learning in Healthcare: A Privacy-Preserving Approach to Medical AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping healthcare by advancing predictive analytics, medical imaging, drug discovery, and personalized treatment. Yet, progress is conAstrained by the need for large, diverse datasets and the challenges of privacy, regulation, and institutional data silos. Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a privacypreserving solution that trains models locally and shares parameters instead of raw data, enabling collaboration without compromising confidentiality. FL has been applied in cancer diagnosis, COVID-19 research, genomics, and electronic health records, showing strong potential for medical innovation. However, technical issues—such as data heterogeneity, communication overhead, model convergence, and security risks—along with economic and organizational barriers like cost, skills, and interoperability, slow adoption. Despite these challenges, FL is both a technological breakthrough and a strategic enabler for collaborative healthcare research. Hybrid approaches integrating FL with homomorphic encryption, differential privacy, and blockchain governance, combined with supportive policies and international cooperation, will be vital to realizing its full potential in healthcare
Effectiveness of Progressive Resistive Exercises on Gait Performance and Balance in Stroke
Study Design: Pre to post-test design- experimental study Background: There is a lack of clinical research regarding effectiveness of Progressive Resistive Exercises for improvement of Gait performance and Balance in Stroke. To our knowledge there are no prospective, randomized studies in the literature investigating the Progressive Resistive Exercises in improving Gait performance and Balance in Stroke. Purpose of the study: To determine the effect of Progressive Resistive Exercises for improvement of Gait performance and Balance in Stroke. Method: 30 subjects with 30-150 days post stroke having Spasticity 1+ or less than 1+ on modified Ashworth were randomly assigned to either control group or experimental group. Readings were taken for Time and Go Test (TUG) on 1st day and last day of 4th week. Results: The results of the study suggest that progressive resistive exercises are significantly effective in improving gait performance and balance than active exercises (same exercises without resistance) in stroke patients. There was a significant improvement in TUG score in group B in the end of 4th week (p<0.002) compared to that in group A. Conclusion: The results of the study revealed that low carb diet is more effective in decreasing pain in knee osteoarthritis patients
The Impact of Social Media Marketing on Brand Awareness and Consumer Purchase Intentions
This study researches SMM effect on BA and CPI with special focus on platform differences and engagement strategy and consumer behavior interactions. The study combined multiple methods to collect data by using surveys and interviews and secondary source research that assessed platform performance. The research results demonstrate that TikTok together with Instagram deliver the greatest brand awareness effects (90% and 85%) and purchase intention outcomes (85% and 80%) because they implement visual content and interactive engagement features. The research demonstrated that BA positively corresponded to purchase intentions since consumer recognition and recall power decisions about brand purchases. Strategies that leverage platform-specific features including influencer marketing and user-generated content and data-driven personalization should be deployed to optimize performance according to the results. The struggle to keep up with competition standards in a saturated digital advertising market requires marketers to consistently make new marketing approaches as existing approaches struggle to deliver effective results. The study delivers operational recommendations to businesses which stress the importance of making usage-specific content that features visual storytelling along with real authenticity and interactive features. Future research needs to analyze two aspects: how SMM affects brand loyalty over time and how artificial intelligence and augmented reality influence social media marketing strategies
Antioxidant Pathways in Plants : Recent Advances In Biotechnology Applications
Excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in response to stress conditions such as drought, salinity, and extreme temperatures causes oxidative damage in plants that severely hampers their growth and productivity. Increasing antioxidant capacity is one of the most essential process to overcoming this damage and towards sustainable agriculture. Biotechnology provides innovative methods, including genetic engineering technology like CRISPR/Cas9 and transgenic approaches that enhance the expression of antioxidant enzymes, particularly superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX). Omics technologies, in particular, offer greater understanding of antioxidant pathways, allowing targeted therapy. Notable developments include engineering stress-resilient crops with improved ROS-scavenging mechanisms, which boost yield and combat agriculture\u27s environmental footprint. Considering the well-documented involvement of oxidative damage in vegetative growth, combining biotechnology approaches with traditional breeding strategy represents an efficient strategy for tackling this problem
Microbiological Contamination of Drinking Water Associated with Household Practices in Rural Bangladesh
The occurrence of contaminated water continues to be an essential public health focus in rural Bangladesh where the widespread presence of fecal contamination includes the dangerous bacterial species Escherichia coli (E. coli). The research examines how home practices affect microbiological water contamination throughout the drinking water collection process in rural Bangladesh. This research investigates household practices which affect contamination levels of drinking water through water collection methods and storage practices and treatment approaches while developing proof-based interventions for water quality improvement. The researchers conducted water sampling at different time points in sixty rural villages spread across the study population. They randomly selected fifty communities for their analysis. A laboratory examined E. coli concentrations because it serves as a critical marker of fecal contamination. The study shows open containers with untreated water storage produced higher amounts of contamination but boiling water in combination with using closed containers reduced the contamination levels substantially. Data collection demonstrates that public health outcomes improve when safe practices receive educational training and better water storage features are made accessible to the public. Generous recommendations focus on household water treatment technology promotion and community-based education as well as enhanced water supply infrastructure. Research needs to analyze sustained intervention strategies in addition to behavioral economics approaches for promoting protective practices and the effect that climate change has on water quality
Industrial Production of Recombinant Proteins: Challenges and Innovations
The recombinant protein is relevant in the field of biotechnology, and they serve into therapy, diagnostics, and industrial processes. They become synthesised when they are made within host organisms, e.g. bacteria, yeast or mammalian cells, with target genes introduced into them. However, realistic concerns about high-efficient and scalable production of recombinant proteins have become characteristic as the recombinant proteins poorly express, are non-soluble, and fail to fold at all. Moreover, the recombinant proteins are non-capable of various post-translational modification and are too costly to make an ideal production. In this paper, these challenges are examined and access some of the innovations in beating them, including synthetic biology, CRISPR gene editing, and improved cell culture tools. A lot has already been achieved but currently more technology is needed so that the recombinant proteins can meet the rising demand. The article pays special attention to the importance of a multidisciplinary aspect on which genetic engineering, bioprocess optimization, and bio products have to be combined. It will also be the case that artificial intelligence and machine learning advancements will mean optimized monitoring, scale-up and yield forecast of a bio-process so that biopharmaceuticals can be provided with high quality recombinant proteins at economical costs
Microbial Resistance in Agricultural Systems: Understanding the Role of Soil Microbiomes in Crop Health
Soil microbiomes are vital for crop productivity and health through nutrient cycling, disease suppression, and growth promotion. However, agricultural intensification, excessive chemical inputs, and climate stress have altered microbial communities, leading to microbial resistance and reduced sustainability. This paper examines how soil microbes influence plant immunity, pathogen resistance, and ecological interactions, with case studies from Asia, Europe, and Africa highlighting both opportunities and challenges. Key barriers include limited knowledge, uneven biocontrol use, and financial constraints for smallholder farmers. Emerging solutions—such as microbial inoculants, precision agriculture, and metagenomics—offer promise but require supportive policies, farmer education, and global cooperation. Ultimately, microbial resistance is a double-edged sword, and effective microbiome-based management is essential for crop health, soil resilience, and sustainable agriculture
