Stakeholders\u27 Perceived Satisfaction from the Use of CVCIRRD-Techno Gabay Technology Videos
Technology videos in this study served as a medium to disseminate developmental information among farmers, fisherfolks, small-scale entrepreneurs, and community members that were beneficiaries of the tech Gabay Program, a Philippine agricultural livelihood project. This study aimed to find out the utilization of technology videos and perceived satisfaction from the knowledge gained by the above-mentioned stakeholders. It made use of a one-shot survey design and simple random sampling in the respondent selection, frequency, and percentage. Results showed that the majority of the respondents voluntarily used the techno videos which led them to be highly satisfied with the information given. The Study implies the important effect of technology in imparting information
Academic Performance of Physical Therapy Graduates in the Licensure Examination
The academic performance of the Physical Therapy graduates refers to the Grade Percentage Average of the Physical Therapy graduates from all their accumulated major subjects into three groups and their subsequent Licensure Examination results in three the same groups, as well. This Study explores the relationship between the licensure exam score and the academic performance of the graduates of the same groups. The study used documentary analysis of the existing school records as to the GPA of the three groups from the Professional Regulations Commission. It made use of frequencies, percentages, correlation, and analysis of variance of the Licensure Examination Results and Academic Performance (GPA) in the three groups. Results showed that among the three groups, the Physical therapy Applications group has the highest mortality rate. The majority obtained a Fair (GPA of 2.6-3.0) in their academic performance; these are not predictors of passing the licensure Examinations. The Outcome of this study is one of the bases for the curricular review of the courses and program of the Physical Therapy Department of the University of Bohol
Risky and Sexual Behaviors Among Young People of the University of Bohol
This paper looked into sensitive issues on risky and sexual behaviors faced by young people today that have future ramifications. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge of the sexual and non-sexual risk-taking tendencies among young people of the University of Bohol, the School Year 2012-2013. A descriptive survey method was formulated to obtain quantitative measures of the background and behavior of young people in the study area with the aid of a questionnaire that made use of a modified version of the Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study survey, checklist, and open-ended questionnaire were also utilized. Results were tabulated and analyzed utilizing frequencies, percentages, and cross-tabulations. Among the sexual and non-sexual risk-taking behaviors, engagement in drinking got the highest number, followed by smoking, engagement in pre-marital sex without the use of contraception and very few numbers claimed to misuse drugs. This institutional research is one of the answers to the university’s unceasing quest in providing students with an education that not just develops a strong foundation of knowledge but also equips them with the skills needed in honing proactive citizens, who are participative in addressing and defining concerns of the times
Tracer Study: University of Bohol, Bachelor in Elementary Education, 2009-2012
Alumni tracer study is one of the best measures of how graduates benefit from the programs and courses they completed to become successful professionals and worthy members of society. The study used a descriptive, purposive method with the aid of a survey questionnaire to trace the Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates of the University of Bohol. Results showed that the majority were employed related to their degree completed, and the majority, of the graduate respondents, found most of the subjects offered very useful. For personal skills, interpersonal, intellectual, and specific skill areas, the respondents rated all items as Extremely Important, as to their importance to career success, they rated the same items as Very Good as to the extent that they possessed such skills. The findings of this study aspired to provide insights for the stakeholders within and outside the university in refining all the more their development agenda to increase decent and productive employment and job opportunities for graduates
Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Development in the University of Bohol
Gender mainstreaming is an effective strategy for reducing if not eliminating the inequality between men and women in an organization. The particular study looked into gender mainstreaming and gender statistics in the whole organization of the University of Bohol and was initiated to answer the need to establish gender-sensitive statistics within the organization. It aimed to reflect the situation of women and men within the university and opened opportunities to understand issues specific to women and men using a gender lens. A desk review on gender-related policies and came up with sex disaggregation of data within the university. It qualitatively probed and determined that gender-fair policies are translated into programs and are practiced at all levels of the university. Furthermore, the gender analysis showed more women than men held top and middle managerial positions in the university and so with student leaders. This is also true for enrollees on different courses, women outnumbered men in the majority of courses except for CET Management, Criminology, and CAFA. Hopefully, recommendations will be drawn to guide appropriate actions as Gender and Development programs are works in progress. This will enhance the university’s direction and commitment to moving towards full-blown implementation of gender mainstreaming in the whole organization
Intelligence Quotient (IQ) of High School Students of the University of Bohol - Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center
The intelligence Quotient indicates the progress of learning by dividing the achievement age by the mental age. This study identified the IQ of high school students of the UB- VD ALC and its relevance to the teaching-learning process. The researcher used OLSAT designed to measure verbal and non-verbal skills. The study utilized qualitative-quantitative descriptive research involving 177 students drawn by universal sampling. Results showed that the Second Year level has the most number of students whose IQ is Below Average, 5 comprising 10% of the population. In addition, most Second Year students had an Average IQ and had a total frequency of 37 (71%) compared to the rest of the year levels. The Fourth Year level embraced the highest number of Above Average students, 47% with a frequency of 17. In general, 7% or 13 students out of 177 total high school population had Below Average IQ levels while 110 students (62%) were on Average, and finally, 54 of them (31%) were Above Average. The classification of IQ among the students at all levels will be provided to the curriculum developers to enhance the teaching-learning experience of the students
Employees’ Defining and Driving Work Engagement in the University of Bohol
Employee engagement in this study is all about employees finding meaning in their work, and commitment to supporting organizational goals. This spurred the conduct of this study which assesses the profile of the tenured employees of the University of Bohol and their level of engagement in terms of defining and driving engagement. This study is using descriptive normative methods that employed quantitative and qualitative methods and data analysis and interpretation using frequencies, percentages, and weighted mean. On defining their work engagement, employees strongly agree or were highly engaged/committed in their work, and on drivers of engagement, they agree or were motivated/driven in their work. Although the study yielded positive results as to defining and driving work engagement on the perception of the tenured nonteaching employees of the institution, there is a need to look into ways to sustain employees’ engagement for the success of its organizational goals
Adequacy of Governance Practices in University of Bohol
Governance refers to institutional systems and processes that reflect the principles guiding the overall use of authority and decision-making of the institution through its governing body. Assessment of the practices of this governing body is the foremost measure of quality in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) per the Philippine Commission for Higher Education (CHED) Institutional Quality Assurance Monitoring and Education (IQUAME) framework. This study assessed the adequacy of governance practices in the University of Bohol (UB) in its continual quest for educational leadership being Bohol’s first university. The researcher formulated survey questions adapted from the Governance and Management criteria of the IQUAME Self Evaluation Document (SED). The respondents of the study were the UB administrators that included the Board of Trustees, academic deans/ heads of offices. It involved as well the faculty, staff, and students selected by stratified random sampling. The differences in the means of survey responses for respondent groups were analyzed through weighted means. Results showed the adequacy of the four sub-variables under governance and management: Development planning, Qualifications of administrators, Addressing change, and Documentation of procedures. The overall conclusion is that UB can maintain leadership by building upon its strengths. The assessment addresses the objectives for quality assurance in teaching and learning and is a step towards institutional accreditation
Lifestyle Status and the Risk of Development of Diabetes Mellitus Type II
Lifestyle status refers to the behaviors or habits or way of living of the UB employees in relation to their dietary practices, physical activities, and personal habits. This study aims to determine the degree of relationship between lifestyle on the development of diabetes. The researchers made use of descriptive, correlative design using a standardized tool for casual blood sugar testing the glucometer, and a researcher-made questionnaire-based health promotion model. Analysis and interpretation of data were based on percentages, mean scores, and Pearson-Product Moment Coefficient and analysis of variance as the statistical treatment to determine the degree of difference in the health status of the respondents in terms of age. In terms of dietary practices, physical activity is described as moderately unhealthy which is attributed to high sweet or sugar and oil/fats which are moderately unhealthy, and lack of aerobic exercises, recreation activities, and engagement in sedentary activities. The extent of risk for employees is the moderate risk for the development of Diabetes Mellitus Type II. There is a significant relationship between lifestyle status and the extent of risk for the development of Diabetes Mellitus Type II. There is a great influence on the lifestyle among the employees and the risk of acquiring diabetes
Employability of University of Bohol, BS Psychology Graduates
The employability of graduates is a major success indicator of curriculum effectiveness. The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the employability of BS Psychology graduates of the University of Bohol. This study utilized a descriptive survey and correlated the employability, competencies, and personality attributes of BS Psychology Graduates from the School Year 2003 to 2011. Results of the study showed that graduates were very highly employable having been employed within a period of fewer than 3 months after graduation and currently on the full-time permanent status and a greater number have concentrated in the industrial/organizational field. The extent to which the university has equipped them with employability competencies was rated Above Average. Respondents highly perceived their personality attributes. There was a significant relationship between personality attributes and employability, and between employability competencies and personality attributes. Results of this study implied that graduates who are highly equipped with employability competencies develop high personality attributes resulting in high employability. The outcome of this study is one of the bases for the curricular improvement of the BS Psychology program at the University of Bohol
