Postal Code Federal Riding File [Canada], October 1999, Census of Canada 1996

    No full text
The Postal Codes by Federal Ridings File (PCFRF) is a digital file which provides a link between the six- character postal code and Canada’s federal electoral districts (which are also known as federal ridings). Elections Canada defines a federal electoral district (FED) as any place or territorial area entitled to return a Member of Parliament (MP) to serve in the House of Commons. Federal electoral district legal limits and descriptions are the responsibility of the Chief Electoral Officer, and are usually revised every ten years after the results of the decennial census. There are 301 FEDs in the 1996 Representation Order, the most recent revision of the federal electoral districts limits. Some postal codes straddle one or more FED boundaries. Users often link the postal code in their data set to the FED in the PCFRF. When performing this link, users should be aware that the postal code in their data set may represent a mailing address used by a person, not necessarily where the person actually resides. Similarly, a postal code in a business-based mailing address may not necessarily indicate where the business activity took place. The reference date for postal codes contained in the PCFRF is the same date as the postal codes contained in the Postal Code Conversion File (PCCF) product released concurrently with this version of the PCFRF</p

A climatology of coupled tracks of extratropical cyclones and mesoscale convective systems

    No full text
Data files pertaining to the paper 'A climatology of coupled tracks of extratropical cyclones and mesoscale convective systems.' Submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres. This dataset aims to combine the two databases from readme section (i) and section (ii) into a single cohesive database of coupled systems. The data itself includes a dataset of mesoscale convective systems (Feng, 2021) and extratropical cyclones (Crawford et al, 2021). Following, we include a dataset of coupled systems in csv format which were developed using an algorithm run between the two datasets. The most intense of these tracks (which were selected based on methods described in the paper) had individual datasets developed via interpolation of ERA5 data, including variables such as temperature, specific humidity, and vorticity, as described in readme section (iv). Related publications, usage, and license included in readme file

Replication Data for: Active face emissions: An opportunity for reducing methane emissions in global waste management

    No full text
This dataset describes raw mobile methane (CH₄) measurements collected by FluxLab during multi-day surveys at ten Canadian municipal solid-waste landfills in Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Alberta in 2023–2024. Surveys were carried out using repeated on-site, fenceline, and off-site public-road transects and stationary downwind holds, under different wind conditions, to pass through or intercept plumes at varying distances. The measurement vehicle was equipped with a Gill WindSonicM ultrasonic anemometer (wind speed accuracy ~3% and direction ±3°), an RM Young 32500 electronic compass (±2°), a Garmin 18x 5 Hz GPS, and Los Gatos Research analyzers (UGGA or LGR-ICOS Microportable GLA131; CH₄ precision ~1.4 ppb for the Microportable). Prior to each day’s measurements, analyzers were checked against certified reference gases, the compass was verified using the four cardinal directions, and the inlet-to-analyzer transit time was measured and applied to correct timestamps. Calibration gases were referenced to WMO mole-fraction scales (X2004a for CH₄; X2019 for CO₂). Data were logged on a common, synchronized timebase with standardized QC steps (timestamp sync, GPS correction, wind-vector correction for vehicle motion, instrument-lag correction, and basic completeness checks). Each CSV provides timeseries of CH₄ (and CO₂ when available), wind speed/direction corrected for vehicle motion, GPS, and nearby METAR weather matches. All site coordinates are anonymized, longitude_anon and latitude_anon, are intentionally offset and do not represent real locations; they’re only for visualization and relative spatial context, not for mapping or navigation to actual sites. Files are named [YYYY-MM-DD]_LFID_anonymized.csv, where the date comes from the measurement day and LFID is an anonymized landfill ID (LFID1–LFID10). Note that only the downwind portions of the measurements were used in our analyses; the full shared files include records that may not have been analyzed. This project was supported by Natural Resources Canada
