Financial inclusion is a tool to offer banking services and financial solutions to everyindividual in society without discrimination. It focuses on including the economicallybackward sections of society in the country’s economic process with no signs of inequality.Availability, accessibility, affordability and adequacy of financial institutions and servicesin all parts of the country and people’s awareness of these resources are critical tofinancial inclusion. People’s Perception of Domestic Violence: An Inquiry in Kerala
Domestic violence (DV) is everyday terrorism within the home context across cultures.The universal portrayals of female victims and male perpetrators are still prevalent. Withthe emergence of a pandemic-specific lifestyle, DV surged at an alarming rate worldwide.Although the conformist patriarchal notions in our society persistently try to normalizeDV, people are getting aware of this social evil with governmental and non-governmentalinitiatives. In this context, this qualitative study was framed to explore the DV perceptionsand experiences of people in Kerala. Ten couples (N=20) were interviewed in-depth toelicit data. A thematic analysis of data revealed the meaning that participants attached toDV, its causes, effects, and their experiences of DV. In addition, this study garneredparticipants’ opinions on preventive measures for DV. The codes, subthemes, andthemes answered the research questions. Students as Volunteer Contingents in Palliative Care: A Case Study
Palliative care (PC) is a service that focuses on addressing the psychological and spiritualconcerns of terminally ill patients and their caregivers, not just physical symptoms.Nowadays, trained individuals, especially socially responsible students, volunteer toprovide emergency services in collaboration with various organisations. This studyevaluates the activities of PC student volunteers (SVs) in community engagements. Thiscase study of Palliare, a student PC initiative, used secondary data to identify the activitiesof SVs in PC, the benefits to patients and their families from volunteering and the benefitsof SVs. Teams of students who volunteered to provide PC acted as support systemsproviding psychosocial support to patients and their caregivers. Collaboration andstakeholder interaction also provided SVs with personal and professional benefits

Living with an Alcoholic Partner: An Ethnographic Study among Al-Anon Groups
Alcohol addiction is a disease that engulfs not only addicts but also their significant othersaround them. The psychosocial and economic disruptions it can cause in the dependentfamily members’ lives lay the study’s background. The immediate and most significantpersons facing the consequences are the spouses of addicts. They are labeled as analcohol addict’s spouse and attributed to be responsible for the addict’s irresponsibilityover his life and time. Al-Anon Family Groups are a Self-help model of group educationfor spouses and those who are affected by the alcoholism of an addict. This paper sharesthe results of an ethnographic study among two selected Al-Anon group meetings inTamil Nadu, India. Al-Anon group meetings were chosen in concordance with strictadherence to anonymity. It was observed that the women participating in Al-Anon groupscould develop confidence in dealing with their alcoholic husbands and select strategiesto face their life situations resiliently. The study is relevant as significantly few structuredprograms are designed to care for the most critical caregivers of the addicts.
