    Oodev Injection Frequency and Time Period in Advancing Gonad Rematuration of Snakehead(Channa striata Blkr) in Hapa System

    This study provides meaningfully scientific information on the attempt to accelerate the gonad rematuration of snakehead (Channa striata) to support the quality seed production for both commercial and restocking purposes in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. A total of 48 snakehead fish broods (296-312 mm total length and 234-298 g weight) were subjected to different treatment levels using oodev dose of 0.5 ml kg-1 fish weight to determine the best frequency and time period for gonad rematuration after spawning. Treatment-A: 3 times/9 days, B: 2 times/6 days, C: 1 time/3 days, and D: no oodev injection (control). The 12 hapas were used comprising 4 individuals per hapa (0.40.41 m) under the controlled condition. After all, ten snakehead brood samples were dissected to find out the gonad maturity level of fish. The treatment-A showed the best performance in term of mean fecundity (19600±450.00 granules/individuals), egg diameter (1.10±0.15 mm), and gonad somatic index/GSI (3.41±0.90 %) among other treatments. Dealing with hepatosomatic index (HSI), the treatment-C was significantly higher than treatment-A and D, but not differ from treatment-B. The mean HSI was varied from 0.89±0.03 % to 1.53±0.23 %. Temperature, pH and DO during sampling period are considered comfortable for snakehead fish broods. Keywords— Channastriata, gonad rematuration, fecundity, egg diameter, GSI, HS

    KAJIAN PENGGUNAAN METODA TAGUCHI PADA PROSES PEMBENTUKAN KOMPOSIT TEHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK BAHAN

    Sejak beberapa dekade, bahan polimer komposit dengan berbagai macam pengisi telah mendapat perhatian yang meluas untuk dihasilkan, terutama yang memiliki kegunaan praktis. Proses pembuatan komposit itu sendiri dipengaruhi oleh berbagai parameter yang berdampak pada sifat mekanik bahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji proses pembentukan komposit yang optimum dengan menggunakan metoda Taguchi. Rambut jagung dan serat kelapa sawit digunakan sebagai pengisi komposit dan resin poliester sebagai matriks. Parameter yang dianggap berpengaruh dipilih sebagai faktor, masing-masing dengan tiga level, yaitu komposisi bahan, panjang serat dan jumlah katalis. Metoda Taguchi dengan susunan L9 digunakan untuk memprediksi hasil kajian berdasarkan nilai tegangan dan harga impak. Analisa terhadap metode Taguchi dilakukan dengan menggunakan software Minitab. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah katalis yang optimum diperoleh sebesar 2 ml, sedangkan komposisi bahan dan panjang serat pengisi optimum yang diperoleh menunjukkan perbedaan pada masing-masing jenis pengisi yaitu, sebesar 40% dan 12 cm untuk rambut jagung dan 50% dan 2cm untuk serat kelapa sawit.     Cost analysis Of Seaweed cultivation (Euceoma Cottonii) in Teluk Tamiang Vilage in Pulau Laut Barat of Kotabaru District , South Kalimantan

    The goals of this researce eimed to know the existing channel of the market of seaweed (Euceoma Cottonii) in Teluk Tamiang Vilage, Pulau Laut Barat District, Kotabaru Regency; to know the farmer accepted by the seaweed cultivators to know the marketing margin and profit of seaweed cultivators and the other marketing institutions. This research was carried out in the Teluk Tamiang Village, Pulau Laut Barat District, Kotabaru Regency, with the object of seaweed cultivators and the existing instituon of marketing. The Data that was collected was the data that directly originated from result of observation in the location of research, and the other supporting data, was related to the object of the research. Results of research showed that the existing seaweed marketing channel in the Teluk Tamiang Village was one system only by passing one marketing institution, it’s the broker. The average farmer share accepted by the seaweed cultivators was 57,93%. The average of seaweed marketing margin was Rp. 5.333/kg, with maldistribution of the margin for the marketing cost (12,80 %), and for the marketing institution profit (87,20 %), with the accepted profit was bigger than the cost or the cultivators profit so far
