Geospatial Analysis of the Heterogeneity in Nutritional Status among Women of Childbearing Age in Nigeria
This study employs a geospatial approach to investigate the spatial distribution and heterogeneity of nutritional status among Women of Childbearing Age across Nigeria. We utilize data on various nutritional indicators obtained from National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS, 2018) alongside relevant geospatial information. By employing spatial statistical methods, we aim to identify geographic clusters and disparities in the various nutritional statuses: normal weight, overweight, and obesity. This analysis will provide valuable insights into the geographical variations in WCBA\u27s nutritional health and inform targeted interventions to address these disparities. This study employs a statistical method, Bayesian Geoadditive Quantile Regression Model (BGQRM) to investigate the impact of various factors on weight categories (normal weight, overweight, obese) among Nigerian women of childbearing age.. Results reveal higher likelihoods of overweight or obesity among urban women, potentially linked to urban living factors like increased income and education, leading to reduced physical activity and higher consumption of calorie-dense foods. The findings highlight complex relationships between socioeconomic factors, urbanization, and weight status, challenging assumptions about the effects of mass media and electricity access on weight, and emphasizing the need for tailored interventions informed by nuanced ethnic and employment-related variations in nutritional patterns among Nigerian women. This study utilizes a novel statistical method (BGQRM) to investigate the impact of various factors on weight categories among women of reproductive age in Nigeria, revealing a higher likelihood of overweight or obesity among urban residents, potentially linked to lifestyle factors such as income and education. The findings challenge assumptions about the relationship between socioeconomic status, media exposure, and weight, highlighting complex interactions that can inform targeted interventions aimed at improving nutrition and well-being among Nigerian women of childbearing age
Student Teachers\u27 Attitudes towards the Teaching Profession: A Case Study of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana
The purpose of this work was to find out student teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession using data from the University of Cape Coast. The major conclusion is that student teachers in the eight selected education programmes in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cape Coast have a negative attitude towards the teaching profession, notwithstanding the significant differences observed between the programmes. It has also been established that students feel that salaries paid to teachers are not commensurate with their workload and that they are more likely to leave than to remain in the teaching profession.
However, trainee teachers ironically believe that they have prospects and given the chance to undertake further studies, trainee teachers will not hesitate to study education
Ghana Educational Service (G.E.S), the Ashanti Regional Office, Kumasi, Ghana Organisational Culture and Team Effectiveness Assessment
An organisation conducts a performance evaluation when it methodically develops an assessment tool, uses the tool to collect data, analyses the findings, and prepares a strategic improvement plan to alter its general purpose. This evaluation was conducted using a descriptive research method called sampled cross-sectional data collection. A questionnaire was distributed to the staff of Ashanti\u27s regional educational office, and they were asked to respond. Their comments provided information about their opinions, attitudes, and tastes. For the administration of the organisational effectiveness and culture assessment questionnaires, twenty-five (25) sampled members of the office staff were utilised. At first, the entire population of thirty-five (35) employees was intended to respond to the surveys. The analysis\u27s findings include the following information:i) The preferred culture of the personnel differs from the current culture.ii) How much team effectiveness is now being used at the regional educational office of Ashanti, and how much team effectiveness is something they "would like" to see in their organisation?iii) It was determined that a few elements need to be strengthened because they directly influence organisational effectiveness. For a useful generalisation to be formed, it is advised that a study be conducted in a larger organisation
In silico Screening of Potential Drug Candidate against Chain a of Coronavirus Binding Protein from Major Nigella Bioactive Compounds
Background: More hazardous varieties of severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus have created major health hazards around the globe since 2019. There is no hundred percent effective drug has been developed against this virus. Bioactive compounds from plants are used as drugs or the main source of raw material for drugs against various diseases.
Aims: To screen the potential drug candidate against coronavirus from major Nigella bioactive compounds.
Methods and Materials: In the first step of our computational biology-dependent study, we selected six major Nigella compounds, four major drugs used in COVID-19 treatment, and a binding protein of coronavirus. In the second step, we processed the ligands and peptides and performed a docking to test the binding affinity. In the final step, we selected a compound with the highest binding affinity and performed molecular simulation, ADME/T, bioactivity, and QSAR analysis to characterize this molecule as a drug candidate.
Results: Four different antiviral agents that had been used in the treatment of COVID-19 patients showed less binding affinity in molecular docking compared with six bioactive compounds of Nigella. Nigellamine C, Nigeglanine, nigellamine D, nigellicine, nigellidine, and nigellone showed binding affinity of -7.9, -7.5, -7.3, -6.5, -7, and -6.7 kcal/mol, respectively whereas ribavirin, favipiravir, remdesivir, and nirmatrelvir showed -5.1, -4.8, -6.2, and -5.9 kcal/mol, accordingly to chain A of subunit 1 (S1) of the spike protein of coronavirus. Nigellamine C showed the highest binding affinity and suitable ADME/T properties with negligible toxic properties and good drug-likeness properties.
Conclusion: Nigellamine C may be a potent candidate for inhalation and/or oral drug development based on QSAR analysis and ADME/T analysis among all Nigella compounds

Evaluating Customers’ Perceptions on the Reliability of Healthcare Services Provided by Government Hospitals: A Case Study of Ilala District Council
This article aims to evaluate customers’ perceptions on the reliability of healthcare services provided by government hospitals. This study employed a descriptive research design and quantitative research approach. The target population includes customers of Mnazi Mmoja Hospital and Amana Referral Hospital. A sample size of 384 respondents was used. Data were collected by using the SERVQUAL questionnaire and interview method, and the collected data were analysed by using average scores and gap scores for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data. This study revealed significant gaps in service delivery and reliability. Service reliability meets expectations in timeliness; improvements are needed in consistency and accuracy. Medical staff show strengths in timely service but struggle with handling complaints promptly. Positive perceptions of trustworthiness and safety contrast with communication gaps in treatment plans and privacy protection. If these gaps are not addressed, the healthcare system risks higher rates of patient dissatisfaction, increased infections, longer recovery times, and potentially higher mortality rates, leading to declining public trust and worsened public health outcomes. The urgent need to evaluate and improve healthcare reliability is ensuring that government hospitals do not fall short in providing safe, timely, and consistent services. This study fills a gap by focusing on the specific reliability aspect in service delivery, particularly in Tanzanian government hospitals, where systemic inefficiencies often go unchecked. Based on the findings, it is recommended that quality assurance teams should develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery across all departments. The IT department should invest in and manage electronic health record systems to improve the accuracy and efficiency of patient information management. Department heads should strengthen processes to ensure timely delivery of services, including reducing wait times and providing prompt responses to patient needs
Environmental Management Systems Implementation in Selected Industries in Uganda
Environmental Management Systems (EMS) were of less significant focus in the earlier times because of the less degradation the industrial activities caused to the environment. However, the EMS evolved over time due to a variety of factors, including changing consumer demands, regulatory requirements, and increased awareness of environmental issues. The current study was set to examine the EMS implementation during the production processes in selected industries in Uganda. The study was based on three objectives: to determine the types of pollution control environmental management systems implemented in the selected industries in Uganda; to explore the benefits obtained as a result of the implementation of the pollution control environmental management systems during the production of goods in Uganda; and to examine the challenges faced during the implementation of the pollution control environmental management systems in the selected industries in Uganda. The study randomly selected three manufacturing industries, X, Y, Z and targeted a population of 100 members of staff. A total of the 76 respondents participated in the study. A case study research design was employed and both quantitative and qualitative approaches of data collection were used. A questionnaire and interview guide were used to collect data from the respondents. Data were entered into a Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) for analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression. The study findings revealed that scrubbers and filters, regulatory command and control, use of energy efficient technologies and efficient waste management systems are some of the pollution control mechanisms implemented by the industries. The benefits that accrued as a result of implementing the EMS on production processes within the factories include: cost savings due to efficient resource use, enhanced industry’s reputation, improved product quality, customer satisfaction among others. The challenges encountered during EMS implementation include; insufficient technical expertise, inadequate infrastructure, high operational costs, limited financial resources, and employee resistance to embrace the new technologies. The presence of the challenges encountered during EMS implementation are likely to stifle full attainment of the associated outcomes among the industries in Uganda. Hence, awareness of the benefits as a result of implementation of EMS should be created amongst all the employees for effective implementation. Also, industries should create a clear environmental policy that aligns the industrial goals and regulatory requirements. The institution concerned with implementation of the EMS should constantly monitor all the industries operating in Uganda for the uniform implementation of the systems
