Data-driven Decision Making and Information Competence of Public Elementary School Teachers
This study aimed to determine the significant relationship between data-driven decision making and information competence among public school teachers in Caraga North District, Division of Davao Oriental. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized, involving a sample of 144 teachers from public schools in Caraga North District , Division of Davao Oriental. Standardized questionnaires were administered through online surveys to gather the data. The mean, standard deviation (SD), Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyze the data collected. The findings revealed that both data-driven decision making and information competence were at very extensive levels. Correlation analysis indicated a significant relationship between these two variables. Moreover, the study identified that the domains of data-driven decision making, including the technological infrastructure and hardware, data usage culture, data usage purpose, and data literacy, all significantly influenced teachers\u27 information competence. Based on these findings, it is recommended that school administrators focus on enhancing data-driven decision making and information competence among teachers. Professional development may emphasize the integration of data analysis skills with the ability to critically evaluate and apply information effectively. By strengthening these areas, teachers may become more adept at using data to inform instructional decisions, ensuring that information is not only gathered but also critically assessed and applied in meaningful ways. This approach will likely improve teaching practices and foster better student outcomes
Development of a Mobile Motorized Rice Threshing Machine for Small and Medium Scale Rice Farmers
Aim and Objectives of the Project: The goal of this work is to enhance the production efficiency of a rice threshing machine by making appropriate modifications to the design of the current model. The study aims to develop a mobile, motorized rice threshing machine that delivers high performance and quality output while minimizing time and cost.
Study Design: The Sieve holes was made to enter each grain of rice given room for adequate passage of the grains, Suspending the sieve with relief springs to enable it sieve during vibration and also proper selection of the construction materials were the three significant areas considered for modification. Mild steel was chosen for the fabrication of the parts due to its reliability, durability, and resistance to corrosion.
Place and Duration: Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, between October 2023 and September 2024
Methodology: Detailed machine design both parts and assembled were drawn using Solidworks 2015 version. The machine component parts were marked and cut out from the parent materials as specified in the detailed drawing. The cut-out parts were joined using Arc welding process, why some parts were fastened using bolt and nut. A gasoline engine of 3.5 hp, running at and 1500 rpm transmitting a torque of 4.06 Nm causing a rotational motion on the shaft for effective and efficient threshing of the rice.
Results: the performance analysis showed that the enlarged sieve holes, provision of suspension spring and closeness of the spikes significantly affected the threshing and sieving rate of the machine. The machine recorded a threshing efficiency of 95.94% and throughput of 46.99 kg/h. when compared with the existing threshing machine. The new machine saved 0.07 h when threshing 30 kg of rice paddy. The result showed that the machine has optimal performance and produces the intended quantity with the recorded efficiency.
Conclusion: this study highlights the crucial role of rice in Nigeria’s economy and the challenges faced by local rice producers, particularly in processing good quantity. The design and fabrication of the mechanized rice threshing machine represent a significant advancement in addressing these challenges. By improving threshing efficiency, reducing grain damage, and cutting labor costs, the machine offers a practical solution to the inefficiencies of traditional rice processing methods. With a threshing efficiency of 95.94% and throughput of 46.99 kg/hr., the machine demonstrates a notable improvement in rice processing. Utilizing locally sourced materials, it further promotes local content and self-reliance in machine development. Ultimately, this project stands to enhance rice production in Nigeria, improve productivity for farmers, and bolster the overall economic potential of the rice farming sector
Survival Sex as a Coping Mechanism: A Sociological Study among Economically Vulnerable University Students
Background: The study explores the sociological aspects of survival sex and disguised prostitution among university students, emphasizing the influence of economic, cultural, and peer pressures, to inform policies that promote student welfare and protection.
Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional descriptive design using a qualitative approach to examine survival sex and disguised prostitution among female undergraduate students at the University of Delta, Agbor. A multi-stage random proportionate sampling technique was used to select 384 participants across faculties. Data were collected through semi-structured questionnaires and interviews, covering socio-demographic details, knowledge of survival sex and disguised prostitution, contributing factors, motivations, and possible solutions. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 25.
Results: The study found that female university students are highly aware of survival sex and disguised prostitution, viewing them as common and closely linked aspects of campus life. Financial hardship, peer pressure, rising living costs, and lack of parental support were identified as main causes of survival sex, while disguised prostitution was driven by the pursuit of luxury, financial instability, social media influence, and desire for social status. Students emphasized the need for targeted solutions, including financial aid, awareness programs, campus jobs, stricter rules, and affordable housing, highlighting the seriousness of the issue and the urgent need for action from institutions and policymakers.
Conclusion: Addressing survival sex and disguised prostitution among university students requires urgent, multifaceted institutional and policy interventions that prioritize financial support, awareness, and student welfare
Lifelong Learning Attitudes and Teacher Effectiveness of Public Elementary Schools
This study aimed to determine the significant relationship between lifelong learning attitudes and teacher effectiveness among public elementary school teachers. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized, involving a sample of 183 teachers from public elementary schools in Buhangin West District, Division of Davao City. Standardized questionnaires were administered through face-to-face surveys to gather the data. The mean, standard deviation (SD), Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyze the data collected. The findings revealed that lifelong learning attitudes and teacher effectiveness were very extensive levels among teachers. Correlation analysis indicated a significant relationship between lifelong learning attitudes and teacher effectiveness.. Moreover, the study identified that the domains of lifelong learning attitudes significantly influenced teacher effectiveness. Teachers who exhibited a strong willingness to learn, recognized the benefits of learning activities, and maintained an awareness of their personal learning skills were more effective in their teaching practices. It is recommended that school administrators foster lifelong learning attitudes among teachers through professional development programs that encourage continuous learning, self-reflection, and personal growth. By nurturing these attitudes, teachers will be better equipped to enhance their instructional planning, effectively assess student progress, and create a positive and productive learning environment. This approach can ultimately improve teacher performance and student outcomes
Systematic Review of 6G-IoT Privacy Risks, Emerging Threats, Mitigation Strategies, and Cybersecurity
Background: Sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks are expected to deliver unprecedented connectivity, with device densities surpassing one million per km², sub-millisecond latency, and AI-native architectures. While these advances promise transformative applications in healthcare, autonomous systems, and smart cities, they also introduce complex cybersecurity and privacy challenges that extend far beyond those of previous generations.
Objective: This review systematically synthesizes emerging evidence on cybersecurity risks and privacy challenges in 6G-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems, identifies critical vulnerabilities, and evaluates proposed mitigation strategies within the context of anticipated 6G and quantum computing timelines.
Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines across IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, Science Direct, Springer Link, and standards bodies (NIST, ITU-R, 3GPP). From 847 records, 50 studies (2023–2025) met inclusion criteria. Data were extracted on risk categories, privacy implications, and mitigation strategies, with methodological rigor assessed using a CASP-adapted framework.
Results: Five major risk domains were identified: (1) AI-native vulnerabilities, including adversarial ML and model poisoning; (2) cryptographic obsolescence under quantum computing; (3) IoT device vulnerabilities, with 60% of breaches linked to unpatched firmware; (4) distributed edge computing risks; and (5) novel communication-medium threats (terahertz, VLC, molecular). Privacy challenges center on precision localization, cross-device behavioral profiling, and regulatory misalignment with automated 6G systems. Promising mitigation strategies include Zero Trust architectures, post-quantum cryptography, blockchain-based identity management, and AI-enhanced detection systems.
Conclusions: Traditional perimeter-based models are inadequate for 6G-IoT. The convergence of massive device connectivity and quantum-era threats demands urgent adoption of quantum-resistant cryptography, adaptive Zero Trust frameworks, and privacy-by-design architectures. The next five years represent a critical window for coordinated action among academia, industry, and policymakers to ensure that 6G fulfills its transformative potential securely, privately, and ethically
Bardet-Biedl Syndrome in a 10-Year-Old Child: Clinical Observation and Literature Review
Aims: To report a pediatric case of Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) and discuss its clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects in light of current literature.
Study Design: Case report and literature review.
Place and Duration of Study: Department of Pediatrics, Hôpital Militaire d’Instruction Mohammed V, Rabat, Morocco, 2024.
Methodology: We describe a 10-year-old boy, born from a first-degree consanguineous marriage, who presented with growth retardation, obesity, facial dysmorphism, polydactyly, brachydactyly, micropenis, learning difficulties, and decreased visual acuity. Clinical, radiological, ophthalmological, renal, and genetic investigations were performed.
Results: The child exhibited multiple features suggestive of Bardet-Biedl syndrome: polydactyly of hands and feet, obesity, retinal dystrophy with extinguished electroretinogram, renal anomalies (horseshoe kidney with asymmetric function), and learning difficulties. Genetic testing was initiated but results were pending at the time of reporting. Symptomatic and multidisciplinary management was initiated (Novas et al., 2015).
Conclusion: Bardet-Biedl syndrome is a rare multisystem ciliopathy. Early recognition, even in the absence of genetic confirmation, is essential for timely multidisciplinary management. Visual and renal complications largely determine long-term prognosis
Performance Evaluation of Infrastructural Project Delivery by the Niger Delta Development Commission (2012 - 2021)
The Niger Delta region of Nigeria, despite its vast oil and gas resources, continues to face significant infrastructural deficiencies, environmental degradation, and socio-economic challenges. The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was established to implement infrastructural projects, aimed at fostering sustainable regional development. However, concerns over inefficiencies, corruption, and incomplete projects have raised questions about the effectiveness of its initiatives.
This study appraises the infrastructural project delivery of the NDDC between 2012 and 2021, focusing on completion rates, governance challenges, and stakeholder engagement.
A mixed-methods approach was adopted, integrating quantitative project analysis and qualitative stakeholder perspectives. Data were collected from official NDDC reports, structured interviews, and field surveys conducted across five Niger Delta states. Statistical tools were employed to analyze completion rates and identify key challenges affecting project execution.
Findings indicate that while 67% of transportation projects were successfully completed, healthcare and electrification projects recorded lower success rates (48% and 41%, respectively). Major challenges include funding delays, corruption, political interference, and weak stakeholder participation. Furthermore, only 42% of the surveyed community members expressed satisfaction with the delivered projects.
To enhance infrastructure delivery, this study recommends stronger financial oversight, digital project tracking, increased community participation, and governance reforms to ensure project sustainability and efficiency
Regional Variation in Fertilizer Use Efficiency: Linking NPK Consumption to Crop Productivity in Western Uttar Pradesh, India
This study analyses the technical efficiency of NPK fertilizer use across four Western Uttar Pradesh districts Baghpat, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) over crop seasons from 2011–12 to 2022–23. It evaluates fertilizer use efficiency for major crops, including wheat, sugarcane, rice, maize, barley, pulses, and oilseeds, by assessing yield and production sensitivity to nutrient inputs. DEA results show consistently high efficiency for wheat and sugarcane (yield 0.90, production 0.91) and Rice (yield 0.90, production 0.86), with Shamli leading regionally and Muzaffarnagar performing close behind. In contrast, pulses and coarse cereals such as millet and gram display low and unstable efficiency, indicating agronomic and management limitations. Meerut exhibits notable efficiency in lentil cultivation, while Baghpat shows potential for improvement. The stability of efficiency under small nutrient changes suggests broader management systems drive performance more than individual fertilizer adjustments. Overall, the findings highlight the need for district-specific nutrient management strategies, policy interventions, and targeted research to enhance efficiency in underperforming crops while scaling best practices from high-performing regions to support sustainable agricultural intensification
Leveraging Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics for Sustainable and Transparent Resource Management
The rising complexity in current resource management projects has generated demand for transparent, efficient, and sustainable operational systems. Current research work focuses on identifying the importance of Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics in improving transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in resource management projects from 2018 to 2025. Quantitative research methodology was adopted for analysis, incorporating a structured data pool with 1,200 projects in ten geographic regions and eight different resource management types. Indexes such as Transparency Index, Emission Reduction, Budget, Data Volume, and Project Duration were assessed for analysis with Python-based analysis tools.
This research evaluated individual and collective impact of Blockchain and AI adoption on project performance. The result shows that adoption of Blockchain technology leads to improved transparency, while adoption of AI improves sustainability performance, specifically in emission reduction. Joint adoption of Blockchain and AI showed best overall performance in projects, although with enhanced financial, processing, and timeline costs. Visualization techniques such as scatter plots and box plots identified correlations regarding impact levels in data size, transparency, and performance, emphasizing importance in having overall technology systems. These findings indicate that the combined use of Blockchain, AI, and analysis is resulting in more responsible and data-driven resource management. At the same time, there is an increase in costs for implementation, coupled with extended project schedules. It is proposed to embrace overall digital architectures, skill development in information technology, and policy initiatives in support of data transparency for achievement in resource management. On the whole, there emerges experimental validation in support of strategic integration for efficient, transparent, and sustainable resource management outcomes
On Hyperbolic Generalized Woodall Numbers
In this study, we introduce the generalized hyperbolic Woodall numbers. As special cases, we study with hyperbolic Woodall, hyperbolic modified Woodall, hyperbolic Cullen numbers and hyperbolic modified Cullen numbers. We present Binet’s formulas, generating functions and the summation formulas for these numbers. Besides, we give Catalan’s and Cassini’s identities and present matrices related to these sequences
