Association between Socio Personal, Psychological and Communicational Attributes of NHM Flower Grower Beneficiaries and their Adoption Behaviour
India has an ancient heritage of floriculture, still, 98.5% of flowers are grown under open cultivation and hardly 1.5% of flowers are grown in a greenhouse. Commercial floriculture is now recognized as an important sector with the potential for generating employment and earning valuable foreign exchange. There has been tremendous growth in the demand and consumption of floriculture products in the last two decades. The research study was conducted in the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2016-2017. Ujjain district is one of the important flower-growing districts and hence, it is considered under National Horticultural Mission (NHM) program by taking 120 flower growers. Out of the total of 25 villages, 4 villages were selected by random sampling method and data was collected by using an interview schedule. The adoption behavior of respondents, in the present study, refers to the extent of improved flower production technology and practices adopted by the respondents under the NHM program on their farm as per the recommendations. For measuring the level of adoption behaviour, an adoption index was developed which consisted of 14 practices. The Education level, annual income, source of irrigation, farm mechanization, marketing behavior, information-seeking behavior, mass media communication, risk-taking ability, and knowledge level of the flower growers were found to be positively and significantly associated with their adoption behavior of improved flower production technologies. Hence it is concluded that there is a need to promote flower cultivation for better livelihood of the flower growers

Methodology: A total of 150 wheat growers were selected as sample farmers. Data were collected from the respondents through direct interviews using pre-tested interview schedules. Descriptive statistics such as mean, frequency, and percentage were employed to analyze the data.
Results: The study estimated that the average farm size was 1.38 ha, and most of them were medium farmers (40 percent). Most of the wheat growers were middle-aged (51–60 years old), while a small portion of them were younger (18–30 years). Findings revealed that about 35.3 percent of farmers were literate, while 34.7 percent completed secondary education. The average family size was 4.96 persons. However, the large farm household had relatively more family members than other farm households. Most of the respondents had more than 30 years of farming experience. Nevertheless, agriculture, notably wheat farming, was their primary occupation (92 percent), and about 70.67 percent of their average yearly income came from agriculture. Furthermore, the study found that only a small percentage of farmers obtained training from the government\u27s agricultural extension office, while most farmers did not receive any training opportunities. In this study, about 53.33% of respondents received loans from banks or NGOs, whereas around 46.67% received no credit.
Conclusion: Therefore, the government should provide more institutional and infrastructure support to promote wheat production, which will increase efficiency, income and enhance the livelihood conditions of wheat farmers in the study areas
Analysis of Technical Efficiency of Rice Farmers under Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh
The study investigated the Technical efficiency (TE) of rice farmers under Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) from a sample size of 40 farmers. The results from DEA and SFA revealed that the mean TE of rice farmers was 98.7 per cent and 86 per cent respectively. The mean TE from DEA is indicating that they can reduce their input by 1.3 per cent to produce the same level of output and SFA revealed that the coefficients of seed (0.7543), urea (0.877), MOP (0.979) and machine hours (0.877) were positive and highly significant, implying that these inputs are productive enough whereas DAP (0.877), PPC (0.765) and human labour (0.988) were positive but non-significant implying that they are comparatively less productive. From the results of DEA and SFA, the mean efficiency of rice farmers through DEA (0.98) was more than SFA (0.86). The results from Garrett ranking revealed that price versatility, high input prices, lack of proper labour supply, lack of adequate capital and storage facilities etc., are the major constraints faced by rice farmers under FPO in Guntur district and they need to be strengthened
An Analysis of Growth Pattern and Volatility in Area, Production and Yield of Soybean in Major Producing States of India
Agriculture is one of the important sector of our Indian economy. Among agriculture various agricultural crops, oilseeds plays a major role by placing India at the 4th largest producer of oilseed in the world. Cultivation of oilseeds is done under 15-20 per cent of total area at global level (Kumar and Tiwari, 2020). Oilseeds group also considered to be one of the great sources of oil (soybean, groundnut, mustard, etc.) and protein (soybean). This study tried to analyse the trend in the area, production and productivity of soybean crop by fitting the exponential growth function. Further examination of instability in the crop was also done using Cuddy Della Valle index. The present study research period was taken from 1970-71 to 2017-18 which is further divided as follows: Pre Technology Mission on Oilseeds (Pre TMO) Period from 1970-71 to 1985-86, Technology Mission on Oilseeds Phase one Period from 1986-87 to 2001-02, Technology Mission on Oilseeds Phase two Period from 2002-03 to 2017-18, Overall Period of Technology Mission on Oilseeds from 1986-87 to 2017-18, Overall Period from 1970-71 to 1985-86. The Pre TMO period and Post TMO period criteria has been considered to estimate whether TMO had any impact on area, production , productivity, import and export of oilseeds. The study showed that during Pre TMO period, positive growth rate in the area of soybean was found positive in all the states except in Gujarat where area declined at the rate of 5.26 per cent per annum. Maximum rate of growth in the area was found in Rajasthan at the rate of 21.00 per cent per annum. During this period, production increased in all the states and country as a whole wherein, maximum rate of production registered in Rajasthan at the rate of 20.52 per cent per annum, production had shown negative growth in Gujarat at the rate of 0.08 per cent per annum. Productivity had shown increasing trend in all the states except in Rajasthan where negative growth is found at the rate of 0.40 per cent per annum. Maximum increase in the productivity was registered in Maharashtra at the rate of 7.78 per cent per annum. While the instability analysis revealed that fluctuations in the area of soybean was observed only in the state of Gujarat, whereas, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan production of soybean was comparatively less stable as compared to the other major states
