The authors characterize P2SQL injections and demonstrate their effectiveness across seven state-of-the-art LLMs, revealing that LLM-integrated applications are highly susceptible to these attacks. By developing a set of extensions to LangChain, known as LangShield, the authors provide effective defenses against P2SQL injection attacks, demonstrating their efficacy with acceptable performance overhead
