National Congregations Study Switzerland (NCSS) cross-sectional surveys, waves 1 and 2 (2008–2009, 2022–2023)
This cumulative file merges the two cross-sectional waves of the National Congregations Study Switzerland (NCSS) key-informant survey, conducted in 2008–2009 and 2022–2023. It provides harmonized variables covering organisational structure, staffing, finances, worship practices, youth and educational activities, social composition, external engagement, and inclusion norms. The dataset is based on stratified random samples of congregations drawn from comprehensive censuses, with interviews completed by a single knowledgeable key informant in each congregation, most often the spiritual leader.
The dataset includes two weighting variables. coefSample adjusts for unequal selection probabilities and nonresponse, allowing analyses to approximate nationally representative estimates of congregations. w3AttCong weights cases by the number of regular attenders, making it possible to describe the average experience or characteristics of individual congregants rather than congregations
Classified Data for Analysis
CSV-file containing the data used for statistical analysis of correlations between questions types and discourse participants. This file is the result of the questions classification
EG-Spanish Corpus: Narrative task
This dataset contains the complete 135 transcripts of the narrative task ("Frog Story") that were collected in Equatorial Guinea as part of the EG-Spanish project. This narrative task was elicited using visual input in the form of a short story consisting of 12 pictures. The story represents a shortened and adapted version of the story “Frog, where are you?” by Mercer Mayer (1969) (see documentation document).
The total of 135 Frog Stories has a duration of 6:33:30 (43,925 tokens, wherof 39,736 by the participants). The transcriptions have been prepared manually with EXMARaLDA.
The dataset presents the transcripts in the following extensions: .xml (ISOTEI), .rtf (PartiturView), .html (ReaderView), .exs (segmented), .exb. All files corresponding to one and the same participant have the same file name, which contains the code of the participant. The codes used to identify each participant provide the following information: project-internal number of participant, place of data collection (town/village), age, sex (M = male, F = female) (e.g., 001_Malabo33M = participant number 1, data collected in Malabo, 33 years old, male)
The Empty Office: Quantitative Survey
The ego-level datafile comprises 4´397 workers from Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, and Spain.
— The first module includes sociodemographic information.
— The second module includes information related to work and telework activities.
— The third module refers to health, quality of life and job satisfaction.
— The fourth module gathers information about the personal contact of the respondent, including household members and work-related relations.
The alter-level datafile comprises 27´859 contacts of the 4´397 individuals included in the study
Constraint tasks
This dataset contains data, procedures and materials from six verbal inflection tasks (three tasks assessing the grammatical marking of tense and three tasks assessing the grammatical marking of grammatical aspect). Participants had to produce or select the inflected verb form or the temporal adverb corresponding to an incomplete sentence. Some files are in French
Surface Groups Libya 1984-2021
Surface groups for Libya (years 1984 - 2021) as georeferenced TIF files.
Classified land cover (surface) of each pixel indicated as:
0 = built-up surfaces: surfaces with buildings of non-natural materials such as concrete, metal, and glass (e.g., residential buildings, industrial plants, roads)
1 = grassy surfaces: surfaces covered by grass or other plants with similar surface reflectance (e.g., natural grassland, city parks)
2 = surfaces with crop fields: surfaces with vegetation for agricultural purposes (e.g., hayfields, vineyards)
3 = forest-covered surfaces: surfaces covered by trees or other plants with similar surface reflectance (e.g., mixed forests, moors)
4 = surfaces without vegetation: surfaces with (almost) no vegetation or buildings (e.g., bare rock, sand plains)
5 = water surfaces: any type of water surface (e.g., rivers, lakes)
9 = missing surface classification, most likely due to cloud cover
If a TIF file for a given year within the observation period is missing, no valid satellite imagery was available for that year (e.g., due to constant cloud cover)
