Surface groups for Malaysia (years 1984 - 2021) as georeferenced TIF files. Classified land cover (surface) of each pixel indicated as: 0 = built-up surfaces: surfaces with buildings of non-natural materials such as concrete, metal, and glass (e.g., residential buildings, industrial plants, roads) 1 = grassy surfaces: surfaces covered by grass or other plants with similar surface reflectance (e.g., natural grassland, city parks) 2 = surfaces with crop fields: surfaces with vegetation for agricultural purposes (e.g., hayfields, vineyards) 3 = forest-covered surfaces: surfaces covered by trees or other plants with similar surface reflectance (e.g., mixed forests, moors) 4 = surfaces without vegetation: surfaces with (almost) no vegetation or buildings (e.g., bare rock, sand plains) 5 = water surfaces: any type of water surface (e.g., rivers, lakes) 9 = missing surface classification, most likely due to cloud cover If a TIF file for a given year within the observation period is missing, no valid satellite imagery was available for that year (e.g., due to constant cloud cover)

Merkmale der drei- und vierjährigen Schweizer Ausbildungsberufe (EFZ-Berufe)

    No full text

Ethics of caregiving at a distance: opportunities and barriers of smart home technologies for elderly parents of immigrant children in small families

13 participants from various European countries (including UK) have granted free access to their anonymized transcripts. An embargo is in place for 6 months after submission of their data: access is therefore granted in July 2025. This dataset was originally not planned in SNSF project coded RESOURCE but was added at a later point due to a need to address a particular population of informal carers, who also hold caregiving responsibilities and commitments despite international migration. We used data from different countries in this dataset compared to dataset 2778 and dataset 2779 because we had a stricter and more specific inclusion criteria (only children, migrants to Europe, parents overseas) to capture a smaller section of the population of informal caregivers. A variation of the interview guide was also used that included more emphasis on their caregiving responsibilities. Furthermore, the VR technology was excluded for this group as it held lesser relevance for transnational migration and the interaction of the caregiver-older person. The Paro seal was excluded due to the relative younger age of the older parents in this group, as it was a technology predominantly used for persons with dementia. Recruitment strategies: We used a purposive snowballing technique to recruit participants. Flyers with the contact information of the interviewer and the project PI was listed, along with the project description. We also distributed flyers both electronically and physically to migration and expat organizations in and around the research institute. The interviewer also used word-of-mouth techniques to recruit from the surrounding social environment and snowballing thereafter, which led to the most success

ÜGK / COFO / VECOF 2023, Languages Grade 11: Keys for Data Linkage

    No full text
The dataset contains three files: two keys for data linkage and an R-script that was used to produce the keys and add a pseudonymized ID to the data files published on SWISSUbase. => ÜGK / COFO / VECOF 2023, Languages Grade 11: Scientific Use Files (SUF): https://doi.org/10.48573/nq2y-gh67 File 1, "LUT_BFS.csv" - This is the key that links the data files from ÜGK / COFO / VECOF 2023. Languages Grade 11 (HarmoS) on SWISSUbase to the key generated by the BFS (Swiss Federal Statistical Office). That latter key (stored at the BFS) enables the linkage to the AHVN13 (Swiss social security number) and other datasets linked to the AHVN13. File 2, "LUT_SUF" - This is the key that enables linkage of the original field IDs (for students and schools) used during data collection to the pseudonymized student and school IDs contained in the ÜGK / COFO / VECOF 2023 dataset(s) on SWISSUbase (variable names: a. field IDs: "id_student_c" and "id_school_c"; b. pseudonymized IDs in dataset(s) on SWISSUbase; "id_student_SUF" and "id_school_SUF"). File 3, "pseudonymize_ids.R" - The R-script that was used to produce the keys and add a pseudonymized ID to the data files published on SWISSUbase. In line 15, it contains a fixed seed for the random generator. The script can be used to reproduce the pseudonymization process
