    Mutfak Çalışanlarının İş Tatmininin İşten Ayrılma Niyeti Üzerindeki Etkisinde İş Stresinin Aracı Rolü

    Amaç – Bu çalışmanın amacı mutfak çalışanlarının iş tatmininin işten ayrılma niyeti üzerindeki etkisinde iş stresinin aracı rolünün belirlenmesidir. Yöntem – Bu araştırmada, nesnel veriler aracılığıyla ölçülebilir sonuçlara ulaşmayı amaçlayan nicel araştırma yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak anket formundan yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında hazırlanan anket formu, Google Formlar aracılığıyla çevrim içi olarak katılımcılara ulaştırılmış ve veri toplama süreci bu platform üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplamda 371 katılımcıdan elde edilen geçerli veriler analize tabi tutulmuştur. Bulgular – Mutfak çalışanlarına yönelik yapılan analizlerde, iş tatmininin işten ayrılma niyeti üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir etkisinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, iş stresinin bu ilişki üzerinde aracı bir rol oynadığı ve iş tatmininin azalmasının, artan stres düzeyi aracılığıyla işten ayrılma niyetini güçlendirdiği ortaya konmuştur. Tartışma – Araştırma sonuçları, iş tatmininin işten ayrılma niyeti üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi olduğunu göstermiş ve bu doğrultuda H1 hipotezi kabul edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, iş stresinin bu ilişkide kısmi aracılık rolü oynadığı belirlenmiş ve H2 hipotezi de desteklenmiştir. Bulgular, literatürdeki benzer çalışmalarla uyumluluk göstermektedir.Purpose – The aim of this study is to determine the mediating role of job stress in job satisfaction and turnover intention of kitchen employees. Design/methodology/approach – In this research, quantitative research method, which aims to reach measurable results through objective data, was preferred. In this research, a questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire form prepared within the scope of the research was delivered to the participants online via Google Forms and the data collection process was carried out through this platform. Valid data from a total of 371 people were used. Results – In the analyses conducted for kitchen employees, it was determined that job satisfaction has a statistically significant effect on turnover intention. However, it has been revealed that job stress plays a mediating role in this relationship and that decreased job satisfaction strengthens turnover intention through increased stress level. Discussion – The research results showed that job satisfaction had a significant effect on the intention to leave the job, and hypothesis H1 was accepted accordingly. In addition, it was determined that job stress played a partial mediating role in this relationship, and hypothesis H2 was also supported. The findings are consistent with similar studies in the literature

    Characterization and uranium adsorption properties of ternary composite adsorbent formed by entrapping natural and synthetic X-type zeolite with soluble sulpholignin in polyacrylamide hydrogel: experimental and theoretical approach

    In this study, the adsorption properties of the ternary composite structure formed by entrapment of zeolite-lignin hybrid material in polyacrylamide, an inert polymer, were investigated for the removal of uranium from aqueous solution. The characterization of the composite material was investigated by SEM, BET, XRD, and FTIR analyses. The adsorption results showed that the composite adsorbed maximum at the natural pH of uranium in the range of 4–5. Adsorption capacity was calculated from the Langmuir model and found to be 0.174 mol kg−1 for NZ-L and 0.307 mol kg−1 for ZX-L, respectively. The adsorption kinetics were evaluated with four different models, and it was concluded that the Elovich model was the best-fitting model. It is concluded that the enthalpy of adsorption is positive for both composites, the entropy is increasing, and the free enthalpy value is negative, that is, the process is spontaneous. Computer-based calculations were conducted to analyses the adsorption mechanism and interaction of the composites with uranium, providing a detailed explanation of the process. It has been shown that these two composites of zeolite and lignin, synthesized for the first time, are good adsorbents for both the recovery and removal of uranium

    Microalgae to Biofuel: Cutting-Edge Harvesting and Extraction Methods for Sustainable Energy Solution

    The increasing price and demand for fossil fuels are driven by their depletion, greenhouse gas emissions, and industrial air pollution. As a result, the search for renewable alternatives has gained serious attention. Microalgae provide a sustainable alternative for biofuel production, offering high growth rates, significant oil yields and productivity, nontoxic nature, higher photosynthesis efficiencies, and the ability to thrive on nonarable land. Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus dimorphus strains were chosen for this study to develop effective harvesting and oil extraction methods for sustainable energy. Three types of harvesting methods are used to optimize slurry yields, viz. flocculation, high-speed refrigerated centrifugation, and microfiltration. Moreover, two oil extraction methods were considered to enhance efficiency: Soxhlet extraction and the direct boiling method. The centrifugation method provides the fastest harvesting rate and highest slurry yields, followed by membrane separation, while flocculation, though slower, is more cost-effective and easier to perform. The direct boiling method optimizes the oil extraction process by effectively rupturing microalgae cell walls. Chlorella vulgaris shows a slurry recovery efficiency of 0.76 g per liter of media by centrifuge, consisting of 12%–40% oil content in overall weight; 12.7% of the oil was extracted using Soxhlet extraction, and 18.7% was extracted using the direct boiling method. On the other hand, Scenedesmus dimorphus shows better slurry recovery efficiency of 0.81 g per liter media by centrifuge, consisting of 22%–51% oil content in overall weight, and there is 23.8% oil extracted by using soxhlet extraction and 26.4% for every 10 g of the sample by direct boiling method compared to Chlorella vulgaris. Future research should focus on cost-effective harvesting and oil extraction methods for microalgae like Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus dimorphus to reduce production costs, maximize biofuel yields, and tackle the global energy crisis
