    Synthesis and in silico study of novel benzimidazole derivatives bearing oxadiazole moiety as potential carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, anticancer and antioxidant agents

    In this study, we synthesized novel benzimidazole-oxadiazole derivatives and assessed their potential as anticancer, antioxidant, antimicrobial activities, and carbonic anhydrase I-II and IX inhibition. Thorough characterization of these compounds was achieved using various spectroscopic techniques such as 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS. Our findings highlighted the potent anticancer effects of these compounds against glial, colon, and breast cancers while demonstrating low cytotoxicity against normal cells. Compounds 6c, 6d, 6e, and 6f showed promising anticancer activity. According to these results, the compounds potentially with the highest inhibitory is compound 6d for hCA I, and compound 6c for hCA II. The results of hCA IX inhibition with compounds 6h and 6i also showed significant inhibition. According to the antioxidant test, compounds 6c and 6d have an antioxidant power as active as vitamin E. Additionally, our investigation included an analysis of the inhibitory properties of these compounds against various microorganisms. According to the MIC values, no antimicrobial activity was observed in any of these compounds. Compounds 6c and 6d are promising in terms of anticancer, antioxidant, and carbonic anhydrase I, II inhibition when all activities are evaluated. Compounds 6c and 6d exhibited moderate activity in carbonic anhydrase IX. Potential inhibitory compounds were also subjected to in silico screening for molecular docking study, and their ADME properties were examined

    Aim: The aim of this case report is to present the multidisciplinary treatment of an immature left mandibularcentral tooth with periapical lesion using biodentine.Case: A 26-year-old type 1 diabetic patient applied to our clinic with the complaint of a crown fracturein her left mandibular tooth due to trauma 15 years ago. It was learned that endodontic treatment wasstarted at another dental clinic 3 years ago, but the treatment was not completed due to health problems.In clinical examination, a fistula tract, a deep periodontal pocket, discoloration of the crown and a fracturewere detected in the relevant tooth area. In radiographic evaluation, it was observed that the tooth had anopen apex and a large periapical lesion. Multi-session root canal treatment was planned for the patient.Calcium hydroxide paste was placed into root canal between treatment sessions. Since there was no healingof fistula after applying calcium hydroxide every 3 weeks, periapical surgery was planned. Before the surgicalprocedure, the root canal system was filled with biodentine. Then the flap in the relevant area was liftedand PRF was placed. At the follow-up session 20 days later, it was seen that the fistula tract had healed. Theprosthetic restoration of the tooth was made 2 months later and the patient was referred for control sessions.Results: In radiographic evaluation at the 3rd and 6th months follow-ups, a decrease in lesion size wasdetected. In clinical examination, it was observed that the fistula tract had healed.Conclusion: Successful treatments can be achieved with a multidisciplinary approach instead of standardprocedures in the treatment of immature teeth with extensive bone loss. Apical plug may not be fullyachieved with standard filling methods. The use of biocompatible materials such as biodentine constitutes agood alternative in providing apical plug.</p

    In this sequel, three aspe of a four-step iteration scheme namely S∗-iteration have been explored. First, a data dependence result has been pre- sented and validated through an aggregated numerical example. Additionally, an alternate approach to establish error estimation result has been proposed, which reduces the complexity and amount of calculations in higher-step iterations. Finally, the S∗-iteration method has been applied to approximate the solution of a fractional thermostat model, supported by a detailed example with an illustrative figure and table
