A Multiplicative Joint-Production Model for Evaluating Forest Ecosystems: Exploring the Economic-Environmental Performance Nexus
No full textThis paper presents a multiplicative joint-production model for evaluating the multidimensional performance of forest ecosystems. The production-theoretic approach to index numbers serves as the theoretical foundation for performance assessment, using a framework that remains neutral with respect to the selected class of performance metrics. Specifically, unified additive- and multiplicative-based disaggregated index numbers are introduced, which highlight the multidimensional performance of forest ecosystems by simultaneously considering both economic and environmental dimensions. As a result, this paper provides a multidimensional performance measurement, enabling the evaluation of the economic-environmental performance nexus of forest ecosystems. Additionally, a computational procedure is proposed to estimate the multidimensional performance of forest ecosystems, based on a non-parametric analytical framework which demonstrates the practicality of the approach

Text-Based Insights on Generative AI Applications in Economics and Business
No full textInternational audienceThis study provides a thorough bibliometric text-based analysis of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) research in economics and business. Based on an analysis of 1,613 peer-reviewed articles from Scopus and Web of Science published between 2021 and 2025, the study uses co-occurrence networks, topic modelling and burst analysis to map the intellectual structure of GenAI literature. The key findings reveal GenAI to be a rapidly evolving and increasingly interdisciplinary field, with research hotspots in AI ethics, sentiment analysis, digital transformation, and higher education. Emerging trends include AI-assisted writing, consumer behaviour and strategic management applications. The study highlights the growing integration of GenAI in business functions and educational contexts, while also identifying ethical and methodological challenges. This work offers valuable insights for scholars, educators and practitioners seeking to understand the dynamic landscape and future directions of GenAI in business and economics

Combining work and vacation: workation as an attractive work arrangement
No full textInternational audiencePurpose:The fulfilling blend of work and leisure experienced by digital nomads has inspired some organizations to offer "workation" (work-vacation) as a new fringe benefit, allowing employees to work remotely from international locations while simultaneously engaging in travel and leisure activities. This study seeks to understand to what extent and under what conditions this workation arrangement is attractive to candidates compared to other work arrangements. Design/methodology/approach: The research employs two vignette experiments that manipulate work arrangements, involving a total sample of 351 participants. The data and results were analyzed using multilevel regressions, moderation tests, and simple slope tests. Findings:The results indicate that job offerings featuring workation demonstrate significantly higher organizational attractiveness compared to those featuring other work arrangements. The appeal of workations is especially pronounced and attractive among candidates with previous international experience and positive attitudes towards such experiences, contingent upon their degree of community embeddedness.Originality/value: Within the evolving landscape of changing work arrangements, this study contributes to the literature by distinguishing workation as an innovative and attractive work option. Additionally, the findings offer insights for HR practices by identifying the specific reasons that make workation particularly enticing for certain candidates.</div
