Identifying service quality dimensions as antecedents to customer satisfaction in retail banking

    No full text
This paper explores service quality in a retail bank setting in Slovenia and its influence on customer satisfaction. In previous studies both SERVQUAL and SERVPERF scales have been used for measuring service quality. Based on SERVPERF a 28-item scale has been developed for this study. Through factor analysis four dimensions of service quality have been obtained. The results from regression analysis suggest that all four dimensions of service quality as well as service range influence customer satisfaction. The information provided by this research can be used when designing marketing strategies to improve customer satisfaction in retail banking

The determinants of the growth expectations of the early-stage entrepreneurs (TEA) using the ordinal logistic model (OLM): the case of Turkey

    No full text
This study uses the Ordinal Logistic Model (OLM) to analyze the determinants of the growth expectations of total early-stage entrepreneurship activity (TEA) expressed in terms of new jobs to be created within their firms in four categories. Specifically, given the increasing importance of entrepreneurship in job creation, innovation and economic growth, we try to inquire into the question of why some of the new entrepreneurs and not the others expect a rapid development of their ventures. The data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) for the years 2006-2008 for Turkey were employed. Our findings indicate that the personal characteristics of the early-stage Turkish entrepreneurs such as gender, education and household income, in addition to their motivation and current size of their businesses are important factors in resolving the prevalence of high-expectation new firms. Moreover, some scenarios particular to some sub-groups or population cells of Turkish developing entrepreneurs which may create the bulk of high-expectation entrepreneurial pursuit were conducted using OLM. As far as the policy implications are concerned, the availability and access of capital funding to early-stage entrepreneurs and an education system more relevant to today’s competitive world might both contribute better to Turkish economy’s prosperity, and seems to be very important for policy considerations

Determinants of firm entries: empirical evidence for Slovenia

    No full text
We empirically investigate the determinants of new firm formations on Slovenian data set for the 6-year period across statistical regions. Analyzed are the relationships of the determinants classified into five groups: demand, unemployment, industrial restructuring, local financial capital, and knowledge concentration. We find a positive and significant impact of GDP p.c., unemployment rate, productivity growth and a negative relationship for employment density. Results show that some regions have significantly worse conditions for start-up firms than others. Practical implications of this study would allow policy makers to better understand the dynamics in new firm formations

Today\u27s children and adolescents are the first fully digital generation, changing the rules of how we use information technology, communication and marketing. In the article, I addressed the model of attitudes/values/behaviours to Internet advertising among children by reviewing the existing literature, starting by critically reviewing existing models for adults. The article describes the structure and methodology of the research (operationalisation of variables, data collection, reliability and validity of measurement, hypothesis development) and the sample characteristics (young people in Slovenia). We analysed the results obtained, tested the hypotheses, and evaluated the adequacy of the proposed research model for attitudes/values/behaviours to online advertising in Slovenia compared to existing models for adults

Identifikacija zaposlenih z organizacijo ali s stroko: primer slovenskih računovodij in revizorjev

The concepts of organizational and occupational identification have been identified as key factors in workplace morale and behaviour. Through a survey, we determined the extent of both concepts and the link between them among Slovenian accountants and auditors. The results show that Slovenian accountants and auditors identify more with the organization than with the profession, and the level of both identifications is relatively low. Based on the results, we conclude that cultivating employees\u27 professional identification should be in the interest of companies, as there is a positive relationship between professional and organizational identification and the latter has important positive effects on the organization. These conclusions are important both for the development of human resource activities (e.g. career planning), which are highly dependent on the object of individual identification, and for planning the work of professional organizations

The market orientation of Slovenian companies: two-group comparisons

    No full text
The purpose of the presented empirical study was to examine market orientation between groups of companies in terms of three company characteristics, i.e. main business sector, company size, and type of the market, and three environmental characteristics, i.e. market turbulence, technological turbulence and competitive intensity. Market orientation is analysed by distinguishing between a cultural and behavioural perspective and by distinguishing between a responsive and proactive form. Comparisons between groups of companies are made by testing invariant latent mean structures. The analysis of 325 Slovenian companies reveals that the particular market orientation dimensions only differ when different levels of market and technological turbulence are considered

The impact of monetary policy and exchange rate regime on real GDP and prices in the Republic of Macedonia

    No full text
This paper investigates the relative costs and benefits associated with introducing a more active monetary and a different exchange rate regime in the Republic of Macedonia. In this finding, the econometrics result show that introducing a more active monetary policy and a different strategy of the exchange rate targeting in order to promote rapid economic growth could easy disturb macroeconomic stability (after having achieved it at a substantial cost) without any significant economic benefits. Therefore, introducing a more active monetary policy and a different strategy of the exchange rate regime is likely to incur more costs than benefits, since changes of the monetary policy and exchange rate regime type do not show a persistent effect on real GDP, while changes of money stock and exchange rate regime do show a strong and persistent effect on prices level
