Vpliv zadovoljstva porabnikov in nameravane zvestobe na dejansko zvestobo v panogi mobilnih telekomunikacij
The article theoretically and empirically examines the strategically important issue of consumer loyalty or retention in the mobile telecommunications industry, focusing on determining the relationship between behavioural intentions and actual behaviour. The empirical part was conducted using a continuous panel survey of a sample of 2,173 mobile phone customers in Slovenia. The analysis of the results using Hi-square and binary logistic regression confirms the findings of comparable foreign studies and notes that consumer satisfaction influences their (intended) loyalty and (actual) customer retention. In addition to satisfaction, loyalty is positively influenced by the cost of switching, while satisfaction, loyalty and prior duration of the relationship have a positive impact on retention. These factors explain a relatively small percentage of the variance in loyalty and retention, which opens up the challenges and opportunities to investigate other factors that influence loyalty and retention
Razvoj podjetniških kompetenc s pomočjo dizajnerskega pristopa
The article explores the use of design thinking as a modern teaching method in the entrepreneurship education process and explores the development of entrepreneurial skills using an undergraduate course as an example. Entrepreneurship as a source of value creation and economic growth has become part of pedagogical practice at different educational levels in recent decades. Recent research indicates that pedagogical practice is often ineffective and does not provide satisfactory results in developing entrepreneurial competencies. Although the importance and quality of entrepreneurship education has been debated for at least three decades, there is still no consensus on the content or objectives of entrepreneurship programmes. Discussions often focus on the development of entrepreneurial competencies as the primary goal of entrepreneurship education and propose a design thinking approach as one of the promising mechanisms for developing such competencies. The design thinking approach is generally defined as the application of a design method to creatively solve personal social or business problems. Nevertheless, there are still no empirical studies that examine the relationship between the design thinking approach and the development of competences. In this article, using the example of three entrepreneurship courses in which the design thinking approach is used as a pedagogical method, we investigate the development of entrepreneurial competences through the reflections of 180 students at three schools of the University of Ljubljana. We find that after the course, students exhibit all 14 entrepreneurial competences that should be at the core of entrepreneurship pedagogy, but at very different levels of intensity. The study has important implications for pedagogical practice, as it shows the impact of using action-oriented methods in pedagogy, which includes the design thinking approach
Science-Industry Cooperation in Slovenia: Determinants of Success
Paper analyses barriers to science-industry cooperation in Slovenia through three detailed case studies. Each case tackles both sides, industry (firms) and science (university/research institute). Case studies confirm our assumption that it is the lack of companies with in-house R&D activities which is the main structural deficit for more science-industry cooperation. Strengthening of firms’ in-house R&D departments and staff, and clustering of firms around the most propulsive ones is the precondition for more science-industry cooperation. Successful science-industry cooperation can only be developed gradually, most often on the basis of previous personal contacts between main actors on both sides. Case studies reflect no impact of the intermediary institutions on science-industry cooperation
A Resource-Based View of Entrepreneurial Creativity and Its Implications to Entrepreneurship Education
For entrepreneurs creative problem solving and innovation are key capabilities that can be built through experience and entrepreneurial learning. Unfortunately entrepreneurial education has received increased criticism over the past decade suggesting that entrepreneurship courses do not sufficiently emphasize development of creative capabilities. Although several scholars and educators emphasize the need for nurturing creativity in entrepreneurial education it remains unclear how to efficiently stimulate the creativity pertinent to entrepreneurial contexts. The aim of our study is to show how the logics of RBV theory can be used to explain the creative behaviours of entrepreneurs in which EC is manifested in resource construction. The contribution of this paper is that it initiates the analysis of EC from a resource-based view and provides a foundation for building the corresponding pedagogy for nurturing creativity specific to the entrepreneurial process to effectively introduce EC training in EE
Analysis of the Effects of Introduction of an Additional Carbon Tax on the Slovenian Economy Considering Different Forms of Recycling
This paper outlines some of the environmental and economic implications of an additional CO2 tax of EUR 15/tCO2 in Slovenia in the period 2012-2030 in order to determine whether it yield a double dividend. Authors analyze (using E3ME model) different forms of revenue recycling by reducing the social security contributions of either the employers or the employees or by reducing the public deficit, in order to identify the optimal fiscal instrument for improving the environmental and economic welfare (double dividend). In this policy orientated paper authors argue that a reduction of employee social security contributions has more favourable effect than a reduction in employers\u27 social security contributions
The Effect of HRM Quality on Trust and Team Cohesion
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between the perceived quality of HRM, trust among athletes, their trust in head coach, and the perceived team cohesion in the context of basketball teams from four South East European countries. First, the modified version of HRM quality scale was verified on one sample of 277 athletes from 36 clubs. Then the model was developed with the theoretical fundamentals of social exchange theory and tested on data from other sample of 282 athletes from 37 basketball clubs. Results show that the perceived quality of HRM directly affects degree of athletes’ trust in the head coach. However, it does not have a direct impact on trust among athletes, neither on team cohesion. However, athletes’ trust in the head coach mediates the indirect effect between the perception of HRM and the perceived cohesiveness within the team, and it also plays the mediating role in the perceived HRM – trust among athletes’ relationships
Unpacking Business Intelligence Systems Adoption Determinants: An Exploratory Study of Small and Medium Enterprises
While extant business intelligence systems (BIS) adoption research focused mainly on adoption of BIS in large-sized organizations, our understanding about the adoption determinants and the process within small and medium enterprises (SME) is still limited. The aim of our research is to identify SME-specific determinants of BIS adoption at firm level that will guide the development and testing of a BIS adoption framework in the milieu of SMEs. By leveraging semi-structured interviews involving BIS experts and adopters, and blending them with comprehensive IT/IS adoption literature we identified instrumental determinant candidates for delving deeper into BIS adoption in SMEs
The Origins and Consequences of Consumer Animosity in Slovenia: A Qualitative Study
This study investigates the sources underlying consumer animosity in Slovenia and the effects of country-specific negative attitudes on foreign purchase behavior. The empirical data were collected via 82 semi-structured, face-to-face, in-depth interviews using maximum variation sampling. Transcripts of the interviews were then content analyzed in a two-stage approach applying within-case and cross-case evaluation. The top hostility-evoking countries identified included Hungary, Croatia, Italy and the US. The most important sources of animosity related to the dimensions of the people, politics and personal experience. Consumer animosity was found to influence purchase behavior in selected product categories. Based on these results, theoretical and managerial implications are offered
Optimizacija enodimenzionalnega razreza z uporabnim ostankom pri zaporednih naročilih
The article presents a method for solving one-dimensional cutting stock problem with usable leftovers (1DCSPUL), where residues of the current order can be used in the future if they are longer or equal to the limit t. Shorter lefotovers represent a loss. The method deals with the problem of determining t. At lower t, a large number of useful leftovers (UL) are produced in stock, and the loss of material in future orders is consequently increased. The proposed TOP-ECOLA method consists of two algorithms; TOP and ECOLA. TOP calculates the optimal t and the optimal number of UL in stock. ECOLA minimizes material loss and maintains the optimal level of the UL. The method is tested by using computer simulations where the UL of the previous orders are used in the following order instead of being created randomly. The results obtained indicate that TOP-ECOLA reduces material loss in consecutive orders and prevents uncontrolled growth of the UL in stock
The Trade-Off between Road and Railroad Freight Transport – Cost Benefit Analysis for Slovenia
The choice of transportation mode for freight transport has a profound effect on logistics companies, infrastructure providers and society as a whole. The efficiency of freight transport is important because it has a profound effect on several economic and environmental factors. The paper analyses the costs difference between railroad and road freight transport. The stakeholder analysis is used to enable the identification of the interests of various groups. The government is identified as the focal stakeholder. The governmental decision support model that focuses on the Slovenian case of road and railway freight transport is proposed. The proposed model can serve the government with its decision-making process when adopting policies that concern road and railroad transport such as subsidies or increased road tolls in order to promote railroad transport
