Konceptualni model povezave e-vodenja in identitete virtualnega tima: mediacijski vpliv zaznave raznolikosti in moderacijski vpliv sodobne komunikacijske tehnologije

    No full text
The article explores the moderating role of modern communication technology and the mediating role of information diversity perceived by virtual team members in the relationship between e-leadership and virtual team identity development. The assumptions and conceptual model are developed by combining constructs from the fields of psychology, sociology and management and using the triangulation approach to form a common conceptual model. The results show that e-leadership is directly and positively related to the development of virtual team identity. The contribution of the research is seen in the formation of a cognitive conceptual model that identifies the dimensions of virtual team identity development and systematically defines the relationship between e-leadership and virtual team identity development and preservation, taking into account moderation and mediation effects that occur in the virtual environment. The discussion addresses theoretical contributions, limitations, and opportunities for future research

Incorporation of Sustainability into Leadership Development

    No full text
The purpose of this paper is to investigate implications of integrating sustainability for leadership development. We identify components of sustainable leadership development, including care for individual, organizational, social, and natural well-being. We also examine how the incorporation of sustainability influences leadership development. This study upgrades existing sustainable leadership development theory by considering the process how integration of sustainability affects leadership development by incorporating a wider range of leadership influence. Therefore, this study is novel in presenting an alternative to the majority of prior studies that focused on a more limited influence of the leader, whereas our study proposes sustainable leadership development based on symbiotic capital

Analiza mnenj obiskovalcev o turistični ponudbi v Ljubljani

Analysis of visitors\u27 opinions about the tourist offer in Ljubljana. Tourists increasingly rely on online data sources about the characteristics of the tourist offer in a given place and, more importantly, about the quality or characteristics of certain providers when making their decisions. The aim of the article is to investigate the characteristics of Ljubljana\u27s tourist offer, especially the individual types (hotels, gastronomy, cultural offers, etc.), using content and sentiment analysis of text reviews from the largest online tourist portal. Using text mining methods, almost 9,000 reviews about different providers in Ljubljana were analysed. The results of the sentiment analysis show that reviewers were most positive about hotels, followed by gastronomy, cultural and historical offerings and lastly about the city centre. The analysis is complemented by a content analysis of the text comments. This analysis is the first such evaluation of the Slovenian tourist city of Ljubljana. Methodologically, the article is based on the latest method of text mining and is the first to analytically summarise the content of tourist opinions for Ljubljana. The analysis also shows the possibilities of using available software tools using available online resources to support business decision making

Uporabnost modela določanja donosnosti lastniškega kapitala za slovenski kapitalski trg

    No full text
The article examines the applicability of the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to the Slovenian capital market. The focus is on the choice of possible (reasonable) values of the input parameters that the investor would use in the Slovenian capital market. We find that: i) the variability of estimated betas for Slovenian stocks is very high; ii) the variability of estimates of required rate of return is extremely high, regardless of the type of input data that can be reasonably chosen; iii) there is no statistically significant relationship between expected rates of return calculated by the CAPM model and actual rates of return. The results lead to the conclusion that the CAPM model cannot be used reliably for the Slovenian capital market, neither with data from the Slovenian market, nor with data from foreign capital markets

Building a Knowledge Economy: Are Hungary’s Educational Reforms the Right Approach?

    No full text
Technology and global connectivity are leading to accelerating dynamics of the global economy. One of the underlying driving forces is the increasing importance of immaterial resources. This has exhaustively discussed under keywords such as “knowledge economy” or the increase of “knowledge intensity”. The following paper discusses the appropriateness of the youngest reforms in Hungary’s higher education system against the background of a modern knowledge economy. It focuses on higher education and presents preconditions, goals and the institutional framework of a “dual approach”. It briefly treats the current situation in Hungary regarding key aspects of its competitiveness and summarizes the actual policy critically

The Costs of Traffic Accidents Due to the Heterogenization of Traffic Flows on Slovenian Motorways

    No full text
The evolution of modal split of freight transport is causing the heterogenization of traffic flows on motorways, so the aim of the paper is to explore the effects of changing structure of traffic flows on Slovenian motorways on road safety and to assess this effect in a financial way. We have calculated crash costs of accidents that were caused by trucks as well as the crash costs of the accidents involving trucks. In addition, we created two safety performance functions for prediction of the number of traffic accidents on Slovenian motorways. The number and the share of accidents involving trucks on Slovenian motorways is increasing as well as the amount of traffic work done by the trucks is, so it is possible to expect increasing crash costs of such accidents on Slovenian motorways

The Drivers of Success in Business Model Transformation

    No full text
Existing empirical literature on business models is still inconclusive about the key drivers of successful business model transformation. The paper explores this issue by using a single longitudinal case study design in combination with grounded theory approach on a medium-sized, high-tech and globally oriented company. Based on on-site visits, interviews and secondary documentation data analysis, the study identifies six generic drivers of successful business model transformation: transformational leadership, discovery driven decision-making, industry improvement – customer specific orientation, content-oriented communication, self-initiative collaborators, and phased separation strategy. The new drivers supplement our existing knowledge on how successful transformation takes place and add to existing drivers, while extensive discussion of their implications may help the managers to execute business transformations more effectively

Optimal Inventory Control with Advance Supply Information

    No full text
It has been shown in numerous situations that sharing information between the companies leads to improved performance of the supply chain. We study a positive lead time periodic-review inventory system of a retailer facing stochastic demand from his customer and stochastic limited supply capacity of the manufacturer supplying the products to him. The consequence of stochastic supply capacity is that the orders might not be delivered in full, and the exact size of the replenishment might not be known to the retailer. The manufacturer is willing to share the so-called advance supply information (ASI) about the actual replenishment of the retailer\u27s pipeline order with the retailer. ASI is provided at a certain time after the orders have been placed and the retailer can now use this information to decrease the uncertainty of the supply, and thus improve its inventory policy. For this model, we develop a dynamic programming formulation, and characterize the optimal ordering policy as a state-dependent base-stock policy. In addition, we show some properties of the base-stock level. While the optimal policy is highly complex, we obtain some additional insights by comparing it to the state-dependent myopic inventory policy. We conduct the numerical analysis to estimate the in uence of the system parameters on the value of ASI. While we show that the interaction between the parameters is relatively complex, the general insight is that due to increasing marginal returns, the majority of the benets are gained only in the case of full, or close to full, ASI visibility

Povezava avtentičnega in transformacijskega vodenja z inovativnim vedenjem sledilcev: moderacijski vpliv psihološkega opolnomočenja

    No full text
The article examines the moderating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship of authentic and transformational leadership with innovative work behaviour. Hypotheses are developed and empirically tested using multiple regression analysis on a sample of 126 employees of an international technology company. The results show that psychological empowerment acts as a moderator of the relationship between leadership and innovative work behaviour in both authentic and transformational leadership. The contribution of the research is seen in the extension of studies on the integration of leadership and innovation, a comparison of the relationships between two leadership theories and innovation, and a better understanding of the moderation of processes that leaders use to promote innovative work behaviour. The discussion addresses theoretical contributions, recommendations for practice, limitations and opportunities for future research

Expanding the Model of Organizational Learning: Scope, Contingencies, and Dynamics

    No full text
Our paper seeks to contribute to the understanding of organizational learning by (a) integrating existing models of organizational learning into a single model and (b) expanding the model to include inter-organizational learning, adding key contingencies suggested by the growing literature on neuroleadership, and incorporating a process dimension to reflect the fact that organizational learning is continuous and dynamic. The resulting expanded model of organizational learning encompasses four levels on which learning can occur: individual, team, organizational, and inter-organizational. The overall validity of the model is illustrated by applying it to two knowledge-intensive Slovenian firms. Implications for theory and practice are discussed
