No full textAspiring to make the world a better place, Zeke, following in the footsteps of his Father, leads a reinforcement deployment from his home country of Galla to support him in the front lines, seeking to earn Honour and Glory by fighting alongside him. When asked to murder a defenceless villager, a choice costs him more than just his arm, but his sense of purpose and direction.
Fleeing from that way of life to avoid brining shame to himself, Zeke casts himself to fate and into a river, that carries him away from a life that no longer seems possible to have. An old Artificer finds him, and grafts a replacement arm to his body, made of pure Klearite, a precious metal that reacts to the will of the wielder. Zeke must now find the strength and resolve to overcome his inner demons, to make himself stronger and learn that what future you think you have, may never be the one you are dealt.
Along the way, He will uncover the reason the war for Klearland is happening, why his Kingdom of Galla is attacking others, and how it is affecting the lives of the people he would have never meet. Learning that wars affect more than the lives of people when Baan’jo the Forest Spirit joins him, and after Maria joins, learns that the drive to continue on despite your past, is strength to do more for your ideals than preparing for them
Ghost Complex Live Studio Sessions [Film]
No full textWe have created an immersive experience, encapsulating a band\u27s live energy and allowing the viewer to feel like they are present and part of a studio session. To achieve this, rather than doing a simple live performance or an EP recording, we decided that a one take live studio session can allow us to capture this.
The audio components remain similar to that of a live performance, where the band were in the same space, miked up and recorded in real time. This allowed us to practice what we\u27ve been learning the past trimesters and put our engineering skills to use, capturing the best quality sound we can, so that the potential when mixing and mastering was not limited, and we were able to make the band sound amazing. The video component was another ambitious aspect of this project, working with another discipline to create a visualiser that encapsulated the band’s energy. Having a film student on board who has experience with content creation, lighting effects and general editing has helped immensely, and was crucial to ensuring this project was at the highest quality possible upon submission.
The genre of music recorded heavily influenced the type of equipment we used, with microphones chosen for this being especially particular, considering both genre of music and live application.
We are confident in our ability to create and execute this project and we are excited to see what we will be able to do this trimester. - Creator

But when Maria wakes one morning to find Philip has suddenly passed in his sleep, she will do whatever it takes to keep him by her side. Unwilling to go on without him, she continues to live with him in the bed. Sinking deeper into delusion and obsession. But when the neighbour’s cat creeps in through the window, the looming threat of the outside world proves too high a risk. No full textMy dissertation is an Autoethnographic examination of Autism diagnosed in adulthood. I aim to provide authoritative, first-person perspective into experiences and reflections of a lifetime of dysfunction leading to diagnosis and the process of reconciling new diagnosis in maturity. Through Habitus and Intersectionality I retrospectively and retroactively explore issues of race, cultural context, social dysfunction, ineffective communication and professional breakdown. I provide insight into social and personal revelations informed by contextualising past experiences through the lens of then undiagnosed Autism and propose new responses and amendments of behaviour and conduct explored which seek to and effectively establish and maintain greater intrinsic and extrinsic harmony, communication, social and professional effectiveness and quality of life
Sounds of Space: Utilising the sonic language of Space music in music production
No full textSpace Music, the sonic intersection of humankind’s fascination with outer space, sciencefiction, and Popular music, has been examined by many scholars in terms of its cultural and philosophical significance, with much of the current literature being explorations of lyrical content, and visual presentation or limited to the field of science-fiction film soundtrack and sound design. However, there has been little in the way of examination and documentation of the sonic aspects of this music.
This study is distinctive in that it focuses on representations of cosmic themes in Popular Music in sound, with a priority of identifying the ‘sonic language’ of space music by scrutinising existing musical texts from the 1950s to the present day.
The scope of the project includes the examination of many musical sub-genres, beginning with Sun Ra’s Cosmic jazz in the 1950s, through to the electronic dance music genres of the present age, in order to develop a sonic lexicon of space music sounds, resulting in a contribution to both the field of musicology and to that of music production and creation.
Through practice-led research this sonic language was creatively applied in a creative work; a compilation of music styles echoing those that have evoked the cosmic in popular music over the last seventy years. As part of this creative artefact, extensive liner notes developed for the project, provide the listener with backgrounding for the space music sub-genres and insight into how the findings of this study were practically applied

On 30 November 1854, miners from the Victorian town of Ballarat, dissatisfied with how the colonial government, swore allegiance to the Southern Cross flag at Bakery Hill and built a stockade at the nearby Eureka diggings.
The rebellion was the culmination of long-standing grievances on the part of the miners over excessive mining license fees, brutal police methods for collecting those fees, lack of the vote, and lack of representation in the Legislative Council.
In the early morning hours on Sunday, 3 December 1854, when the stockade was only lightly guarded, government troops attacked. At least 22 diggers and six soldiers were killed. The rebellion spurred democratic reform in the colony of Victoria and changes to the mining license and the right to own land. Eureka is an essential part of the creation of Australian democracy
