    My film \u27The Old Breed\u27 is a film about the effects of war post service. The Film is a representation of veterans with PTSD having trouble getting back into Civilian life and it is important to show how it has affected their lives. Edward Booth a former Marine Vet is haunted by the ghost of his dead Sergeant Richard in his nightmares, Edward closes himself off from his mother Sarah and the rest of the world. As the nightmares keep happening his mother struggles to get him to open up till he is visited by the Spirit of his dead Sergeant Richard Smalls who helps him to let go of the past

    The essay “Uncertain Positions” was written to accompany Dislocations: Body, Memory Place, an exhibition I curated at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Access Gallery as part of the Midsumma Festival in early 1993, almost 30 years before the NGV’s high profile Queer exhibition. The accompanying reflection, “The Quotidian and the Other: Reflections Thirty Years on,” reflects on the changing nature of queer art and queer communities and places this exhibition in the context of developments in queer art and the exploration of queer themes in prominent national and international exhibitions such as the most recent iterations of the Venice Biennale and the Sydney Biennale. It traces and contrasts the evolution of queer art as otherness and the queer quotidian
