Mixed Oligopoly, Trade and Environment
We introduce trans-boundary pollution in a two country – one good mixed oligopoly model and investigate the effect of privatization on environment and trade. We find that although privatization raises environmental tax which remains below marginal damage, tariff may or may not increase. Finally, strategic trade-off between environmental policy and trade policy may or may not hold

Textbook Affordability and OER: The Experiences of Two Regional Universities
The high costs of textbooks negatively impact access, success, and retention rates for undergraduate students. Librarians from Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Florida, and the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, have established textbook affordability programs, using course reserves, e-resources, and open educational resources to help reduce the textbook burden for their students. Each library has developed a set of best practices for implementation and success that can be adapted by other higher education institutions that are interested in beginning a similar project

Hydrogen-based metabolism as an ancestral trait in lineages sibling to the Cyanobacteria
The evolution of aerobic respiration was likely linked to the origins of oxygenic Cyanobacteria. Close phylogenetic neighbors to Cyanobacteria, such as Margulisbacteria (RBX-1 and ZB3), Saganbacteria (WOR-1), Melainabacteria and Sericytochromatia, may constrain the metabolic platform in which aerobic respiration arose. Here, we analyze genomic sequences and predict that sediment-associated Margulisbacteria have a fermentation-based metabolism featuring a variety of hydrogenases, a streamlined nitrogenase, and electron bifurcating complexes involved in cycling of reducing equivalents. The genomes of ocean-associated Margulisbacteria encode an electron transport chain that may support aerobic growth. Some Saganbacteria genomes encode various hydrogenases, and others may be able to use O2 under certain conditions via a putative novel type of heme copper O2 reductase. Similarly, Melainabacteria have diverse energy metabolisms and are capable of fermentation and aerobic or anaerobic respiration. The ancestor of all these groups may have been an anaerobe in which fermentation and H2 metabolism were central metabolic features. The ability to use O2 as a terminal electron acceptor must have been subsequently acquired by these lineages
Impact of Ketone Salt Containing Supplement on Cardiorespiratory and Oxidative Stress Response in Firefighters Exercising in Personal Protective Equipment
Background: Firefighters have the highest risk of on duty death due to cardiovascular disease which may be caused by excessive oxidative stress (OS). Animal studies have shown that ketone bodies may reduce OS; however, human trials are needed.
Objectives: To examine the effects of a supplement containing ketone salts (KS) on blood OS and cardiorespiratory responses in firefighters exercising in personal protective equipment
Online Brokers: A Comparison of Costs and Features
Many online brokers offer investors the efficient execution of security trades. Each broker has a set of costs and a bundle of features from which traders make complicated comparisons to select a broker. A way to simplify broker choice is to examine the relationship between costs and features from online brokers. If online brokers operate in an efficient market, costs should vary directly with the size and quality of features offered. And if costs vary directly with features, then the costs are a signal for features in an efficient market for online brokers. This paper compares costs and features of online brokers and finds no relationship between them, which suggests that online traders need to find other ways to simplify their choice of an online broker
