    Front view of the Alabama state capitol. Text on verso reads: Alabama\u27s State Capitol in Montgomery has been the seat of the state government for over one hundred years. In the present House of Representatives chamber, the Ordinance of Secession was passed in 1860, and the capitol became the official home of the Confederate government until it was later moved to Richmond. First known as Alumnae Hall, it later was named O\u27 Neal Hall. The building stood until the late 1980\u27s when it was replaced by the student union building. The card bears a Chicago, Illinois address and is postmarked from Florence (Alabama) on April 29, 1924. Distinguished by 24 massive columns, encircling the building, his residence became a famous meeting place for prominent citizens, who loved to race their horses on the excellent track maintained by James Jackson.
