Get PDFThe Nigerian Journal of the Social Sciences (NUSS), is an official quarterly Journal of the Faculty of the Social Sciences, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. The aim of the Journal is to provide a forum for the dissemination of findings and reports from theoretical works and empirical researches in Economics, Geography and Planning Science, Sociology, Psychology and Behavioural Science, Political Science, Tourism and Recreation and other areas of Social and Management Sciences.
As a university-based Journal, it is double blind peer re-viewed. It publishes theoretical, empirical and experimental papers that contribute significantly to knowledge in the disciplines of Social and Management Sciences. This, we intend to achieve by using a wide range of research methods, including statistical tools, analytical work, case studies, field research, literature surveys and historical analysis. Articles accepted will be published in the issue of the current volume. The Journal therefore welcomes the submission of manuscripts from both academics and research scholars that meet the general scope and criteria for publication in the Journal. All references must be in the current APA Format. In addition, authors are carried along adequately in all the publication processes in line with our highly rigorous peer-review policy
EKSU INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES (IJMDS): Comparative Analysis of Management Accounting Practices and Management Levels in Businesses for Sustainable Development Goals
No full textThis study Comparatively Analysed management accounting practices adoption and Management Levels in businesses for sustainable development goals. Survey research design was employed for this study. Purposive and stratified sampling techniques were used to select the sample of 220 for large-scale businesses. Primary data through questionnaires were used to obtain information from the respondents. Descriptive statistics using frequency distribution were used to examine the management accounting practices adopted at different management levels. Results of frequency distribution showed 34%, 88%, and 69% for operational, tactical, and strategic management level adoption of traditional management accounting practices, respectively. Also, 0%, 7% and 76% for operational, tactical and strategic management level adoption of advanced management accounting practices respectively. The study concluded that the operational management level had a low level of adoption of traditional management accounting practices, while both the operational and tactical levels had not adopted advanced management accounting practices in large-scale flour milling companies in the study area. The study recommended that all levels should be trained and allowed to use a measure of these tools to promote innovations in firms and optimize the firm’s resource outcomes

No full textThe study examined the influence of insurance technology on the sustainability of insurance companies in South West, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population under consideration consists of insurance industry stakeholders in South West, including insurance companies, regulatory bodies, and consumers. A stratified random sampling technique was employed to ensure representation from each stratum. The strata include insurance companies, regulatory bodies (such as the National Insurance Commission), and consumers. This approach ensures a diverse and inclusive sample that accurately reflects the various perspectives within the insurance ecosystem. The sample size of the study comprised 70 respondents from various insurance companies operating in South West and 45 respondents from National Insurance Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies in the region were which made up a total sample size of 115 respondents. A research instrument titled “Influence of Insurance Technology on the Sustainability of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Questionnaire” (IITSNIIQ) was designed by the researcher to provide relevant information to the study. Three (3) research questions were raised and answered while one (1) hypothesis was tested at the significance level of 0.05. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics such as Pearson Product Moment Correlation and regression analysis. Findings in this study revealed that the extent of adoption and integration of insurance technology into the Nigerian Insurance Market work processes is high. The study also revealed series of technological innovations examined in this study have been adopted by Nigerian insurance companies. Based on the findings, the study recommended that insurance companies in Ekiti State should prioritize investments in robust technological infrastructure which includes upgrading software systems, implementing secure data storage solutions, and ensuring the scalability of IT frameworks to accommodate future advancements
EKSU Journal of the Management Scientists: Impact of Bank Customers’ Credit in Promoting Customer’s Satisfaction in Nigeria
No full textThis study examined the impact of bank customers\u27 credit in promoting customer satisfaction in Nigeria using survey design, well-structured questionnaire and ordinary least square (OLS) as the estimated technique. The study used customer satisfaction (CS) as the explained variable while bank customers’ credit was used as the explanatory variable. The result revealed that bank customers’ credit (59.983, P = 0.000) has a positive and significant impact on customer satisfaction in Nigeria. It was concluded that bank customers’ credit improves customer satisfaction in Nigeria.

The Editorial Board deployed appropriate logistics to screen and select articles with high quality and in conformity with the international best practices. Therefore, the articles in the journal are double blind peer-reviewed in line with international standard.
This edition ascertains the publication of articles from diverse segments of Sport for Fitness, Health, Wellness and Education pedagogy. We shall not relent in our avowed commitment to always put the journal in academic domain at least two times a year.
The Editorial Board appreciates the efforts of all the contributors as well as assessors towards the successful production of this edition. It is our hope that researchers, scholars and readers will continue to subscribe to the journal for its continuity. We recommend this journal to all.

EKSU JOURNAL OF EDUCATION: Two Nations, Two Language Policies: What Innovations and Hullabaloos!
No full textThis paper examines the language policies of two African nations, Nigeria and Kenya. We explain the subtleties and obstacles that could either facilitate or hinder the execution of these national language policies. Over the years, the Nigerian government has struggled to document its linguistic preferences and mandates. The introduction of the New National Language Policy in 2022 is a welcome development; however, its implementation is not yet visibly feasible. In contrast, Kenya’s language policy emphasizes the role of Kiswahili and mother tongue education, as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the national language policy. The paper draws on extensive literature and critical analysis of the national language policies of the two nations. It highlights the contents and explicates various innovations enunciated in these policies. The paper, therefore, concludes that parents, government, and all stakeholders involved in the use of language should do the needful for the proper implementation of the policies to preserve the indigenous languages for generations born and unborn. It recommends that various stakeholders and the government wake up to their responsibilities toward the proper implementation of the policies. Additionally, the government should publicize the necessary roles of various stakeholders for the fruitful implementation of the language policies
