Statistical measures of the association between two ordinal variables
Questionnaire surveys often deal with items by which we would like to identify possible associations. These items/variables can be measured on the basis of nominal, ordinal or interval scale. This paper provides an overview of statistical measures of association between two ordinal variables that are used most commonly. It also offers a display of the outputs from the SPSS program, in addition to the description of correlation coefficient calculations.

Cognitive evaluation of subjective well-being among healthy women with the different sport participation level
The objective of the study was to analyse the cognitive evaluations of subjective wellbeing(SWB) among healthy women with different sport participation levels bysatisfaction with specific life indicators, specific life domains, and by the overallquality of life (QOL). Three samples of healthy women (n=136) categorized by thelevel of sport participation were recruited for the study: elite athletes (n=25),recreational athletes (n=58), and non-athletes (n=53). The Subjective Quality of LifeAnalysis questionnaire and the World Health Organisation QOL User Manual wereused as primary research methods. Healthy female elite and recreational athletesreported significantly higher satisfaction in their lives with life indicators: justice, truth, leisure activities, safety, and freedom compared to healthy female non-athletes.Healthy female elite and recreational athletes reported significantly highersatisfaction in their lives with Psychological health and Environment domains as wellas by the overall QOL compared to healthy female non-athletes.

Performance analysis in olympic triathlon
The objective of this study is to determine the dependencebetween the overall performance in triathlon and the individualevents within it in the observed period of 2015-2018. The presentedstudy deals especially with Olympic triathlon under the auspices ofthe International Triathlon Union. It includes 41 races with the overallnumber of analysed results being n=1213. The results show that therunning part has the average value of r=0.85 (p<0.01) based on thecorrelation coefficient, which means a very high dependence in theresults. The other two sport events have not showed such a highdependence
Role of wellness in the life persons with disability - a comparison study in the czech republic
Education to wellness stresses the positive orientation in the individual life, development in beliefs about the sense of human life. According the wellness definition declared by WHO in 2000 we come to result, that phenomenon wellness presents a full integration of states of physical, mental, social, spiritual and economic well-being. Human responsibility for the state of wellness is in relation of individual knowledge and skills leading to the reduction or elimination of excessive mental and physical stress in daily life and to development of individual potentials. The main objective of the study is to analyse public awareness about wellness in persons with disability comparing persons of intact population, differences between males and females, differences according the age. In the research study participated in sum of 869 persons (422 males, 447 females). The Questionnaire "Well_Awar_In" (Krejčí 2013; Vackova, Michailidou, Neuwirth, 2016) was used to monitor a state of public awareness on the impact of wellness for personal life. Statistical analysis is divided into the five areas: Association of Wellness with Health optimizing; Wellness in workplace; Implementation of wellness activities in daily life; Preferences of wellness procedures; Obstructions to implement wellness into daily life. Results analyses show that the most associated phenomena with wellness are phenomena “Relaxation” and “SPA”, that it is high necessary to promote wellness in workplace in Czech Republic. Presented results bring new view on the problem, which is solved and published first time in Czech Republic
How to become world champion and olympic gold medalist in 50km race walk
The aim of research was to compare the preparation of Worldchampion and Olympic gold medalist in 50 km race walk for OlympicGames and World Championship. As our research revealed, werecorded the biggest difference in volume of completed kilometres. Inolympic year it was 4471 km, therefore it is about 1136 km less thanduring yearly training cycle (YTC) 2014/15 and the volume ofcompleted kilometres was 3566 km and it presents about 1124 kmless than YTC 2014/15. With intensity of walking 3:41-4:05 min.km-1subject completed 56 km during Olympic year, 202 km less than itwas in YTC 2014/15. With intensity of 4:06-4:20 min.km-1 hecompleted 165 km, equalled 114 km less than during YTC 2014/15.There were noticeable differences in special tempo and tempo´sendurance as well. While in special tempo (4:21-4:40 min.km-1)subject completed 451 km, means about 247 km less than YTC2014/15 and during intensity of 4:41-5:00 min.km-1 989 km, which isabout 469 km less than YTC 2014/15. From a perspective of YTC,olympic year was worse in quantitative and also qualitativeparameters. On the other hand last 8 weeks were very similar, whichwas crucial for result on Olympic Games
The influence of the plyometric training on the lower limp explosive power of basketball players
The plyometric training program currently used almost all kinds of sports. Athletes use them to improve their performance in specific movements, such as throws, jumps, starts, etc. Especially basketball is considered a very explosive, dynamic and fast- paced sport in which plyometric training is widely used. For the highest explosive power, two training methods must be recommended: strength and plyometric training. PT is commonly used method for developing of the lower limb explosive power by natural dynamic movements, such as various jump and jumps with counter movement.

Impact of physical activity on respiratory diseases
Chronic respiratory diseases, including COPD, asthma, lung cancer, and COVID-19, significantly impact global health, quality of life, and healthcare systems. Physical activity is increasingly recognized for its preventive and therapeutic roles. Regular exercise enhances lung function, mitigates disease progression, and improves psychological well-being. Studies demonstrate that physical activity benefits patients with COPD, asthma, and lung cancer, promoting spirometric improvements, endurance, and post-operative recovery. Moreover, tailored exercise regimens during and after COVID-19 infection aid rehabilitation and immune resilience. Environmental considerations, such as pollution, must be addressed to maximize exercise benefits. Comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation programs incorporating aerobic, resistance, and breathing exercises yield significant health improvements. This evidence underscores the critical role of physical activity in managing respiratory diseases, advocating its integration into patient care and public health strategies to enhance overall outcomes.

Effect of post-activation performance enhancement of 10 meters sprint using isoinertial flywheel versus traditional resistance protocol after 6 minutes and 24 hours of rest: a crossover study
This study investigated whether 10-meter sprint performance (10M) could be enhanced 6 minutes and 24 hours after performing 3 sets of 6 squat repetitions (90° knee flexion) using either a flywheel isoinertial device (FW) or traditional free weights (TR). Twelve strength-trained university students (age: 23.0 ± 1.5 years; height: 180.4 ± 6.6 cm; weight: 77.1 ± 6.9 kg) participated in a non-synchronous crossover design. TR used resistance at power maximum (Pmax) on the barbell quantified through progressive loading during diagnostic series. For the FW, an encoder integrated into the device helped set resistance, with the highest power output during the concentric phase of the squat selected as the target resistance. Squat protocols involved 6 repetitions in 3 sets with 2-minute rests. Sprint times were recorded at baseline, 6 minutes, and 24 hours post-protocol using double-beam photocells. For statistical analysis we used ANOVA for repeated measures, least significant difference (LSD) to see difference between each time slots and partial Eta squared (η2) for effect size. We found that FW significantly enhanced 10M (F = 15,613; p = 0,002) with large effect size (η2 = 0,587). LSD showed significant effect after 24 hours (p = 0,002) but not after 6 minutes (p = 0,095). On the other side there was no significant effect of enhancing 10M using TR (F = 1,725; p = 0,216) with moderate effect size (η2 = 0,136). No significant differences were observed between FW and TR at any time point. While FW may enhance acceleration speed after 24 hours, TR showed limited impact. Further research is recommended.
