Comparison of anthropometric parameters and strength qualifications of junior and senior representatives of the Czech Republic in whitewater slalom (category C1)
The aim of this study was to determine the differences between junior (n = 3) and senior (n = 3) representational racers white water slalom racers (catogory C1) of Czech Republic in terms of selected anthropometric, somatotype and strength assumptions. Performance athletes (n = 17) were tested 4 weeks before selection races to the national teams and to the Olympic Games. This study presents comparison of successful competitors, who have ben included in the national junior and senior teams. We found a few differences in the level of anthropometric and strength assumptions, which probably have a significant impact on performance in white water slalom. The applications of the results may facilitate searching and planning priorities in the management of training process
Women's training in race walking at a master's level
The race walking discipline is now practiced professionally by women who compete in sports events around the world. It is included in the Olympic Games as well as in all world and European championship events. When analysing race walking performed by women purely from a sports performance perspective, it is essential to consider their biological conditions for endurance training in terms of physical capacity. Despite undeniable anatomical differences, women are not smaller and weaker, but rather different from men. Therefore, women's training must have its own specificity and cannot be just a scaled-down version of men's training. When planning women's training, it is important to take into account their characteristic biological rhythm, which includes phases of increased and decreased capacity for physical exertion. To enable females to compete at a world-class level, continuous searching for new training solutions is necessary, such as training in various climatic conditions or training camps at high altitudes.

Use of modern technologies in the performance analysis of an elite runner
Modern technologies have become an indispensable tool in sports science, enabling a detailed analysis of performance parameters for elite and recreational athletes during selected activities or throughout an entire training cycle. This study focuses on the analysis of data collected using the Garmin application for an elite runner, specifically examining two key indicators: heart rate (HR) and cadence/stride length during a half-marathon. This study aims to analyze these key indicators, compare them with additional metrics, and identify how they influence the performance of the elite runner. Furthermore, it explores how the measured values can be utilized in training and competitive preparation. Based on the analysis, the study proposes general recommendations for applying insights gained from performance monitoring devices and suggestions for implementing these technologies in the training process to optimize both training methods and race strategies. The results highlight the importance of maintaining a stable HR, which the analyzed runner sustained at an average of approximately 175 bpm, as well as ensuring appropriate cadence and effective stride length aligned with the runner's characteristics. These findings provide practical recommendations for runners and their coaches on how to use available technologies not only for the analysis of specific performances but also for the long-term monitoring of training processes. The ultimate goal is to maximize individual performance and minimize the risk of overtraining.

The influence of rink size on intensity of load in floorball
The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of court size during three-on-three training games on the physical load of floorball players. Twelve players, aged 17.8 ±0.6 years, who compete in the highest junior league in the Czech Republic, participated in the study. Data were collected over six training sessions in which players engaged in training games on courts measuring 9 × 20 m and 13 × 20 m, with work-to-rest intervals of 1:1. The intensity of the physical load was monitored using the Polar Team system with Polar H10 chest straps, with the primary variable being the relative heart rate expressed as a percentage of each player’s maximum heart rate (HRmax). The results of the study showed that the physical load intensity of the monitored players was higher on the larger court, averaging 87.23% HRmax compared to 86.68% HRmax on the smaller court. This difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001) at the 5% level of significance. The findings suggest that high levels of physical load, comparable to those experienced during competitive matches in sports games, can also be achieved during training games on smaller courts. These results may be particularly valuable for planning training processes, especially in situations where space is limited or when the goal is to simulate match-like physical loads.

Comparison of eccentric and concentric training effects on improving explosive performance in elite female basketball players: a pilot study
Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of concentrically dominant (CD) and eccentrically dominant (ED) training programs on explosive abilities in elite female basketball players, focusing on vertical jump performance. Methods: A total of 10 elite female basketball players were divided into two groups, with five participants each. One group followed a concentrically dominant training program, while the other group followed an eccentrically dominant program. The training lasted six weeks, with two sessions per week. Vertical jumps were assessed using countermovement jumps (CMJ), squat jumps (SQJ), and drop jumps (DJ), focusing on parameters such as Relative Peak Power and Landing Rate of Force Development (RFD) and other parameters. Statistical analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, independent t-tests, and Cohen’s d to assess effect sizes for the CMJ, DJ, and SQ tests. Results: The CD group demonstrated improvements in both Relative Peak Power (from 41.520 to 43.360 W/kg, Cohen's d = -0.824) and Jump Height (Cohen's d = -0.964) in the CMJ test, though the differences were not statistically significant. The ED group showed minimal improvement, and in some cases, slight reductions in performance parameters. In the DJ test, significant improvements in Landing RFD were observed in the CD group (Cohen's d = -1.533), while the ED group showed a large effect size in Landing RFD (Cohen's d = -0.858), though this effect was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Concentrically dominant training was more effective in improving explosive strength and jump height, as well as demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in Landing RFD. While eccentrically dominant training also showed a notable effect in landing control, it was not as pronounced or statistically significant. Based on these findings, incorporating both training modalities could enhance explosive performance and improve landing mechanics in elite female basketball players. Further research with larger sample sizes is recommended to solidify these conclusions.

Vyhláška č. 397/2020 uviedla do platnosti nielen zmenu v kategorizácii publikačnej činnosti, ale aj nové pravidlá v evidencii. Článok opisuje súhrn charakteristických znakov vedeckých knižných publikácií (vedeckej monografie, editovanej vedeckej knihy a zborníka) a rozdielov medzi nimi
DO VÝSTUPOV PUBLIKAČNEJ ČINNOSTI A OHLASOV PRIBUDLI NOVÉ TYPY ŠTATISTÍK
Zmena kategórií a niektorých pravidiel evidencie publikačnej činnosti a ohlasov v zmysle vyhlášky č. 397/2020 si vyžiadali úpravy v nastaveniach knižnično-informačného systému na všetkých úrovniach. Okrem iného priniesli aj nové výstupy z databázy publikačnej činnosti a ohlasov a nové typy štatistík, ktoré umožňujú orientáciu v aktuálnej, na prvý pohľad jednoduchšej, no výrazne neprehľadnejšej kategorizácii
NOVÉ KATEGÓRIE PUBLIKAČNEJ ČINNOSTI – NOVÉ VÝSTUPY
Od februára 2022 evidujú akademické knižnice publikačnú činnosť, umeleckú činnosť a ohlasy tvorivých zamestnancov podľa vyhlášky č. 397/2020 o centrálnych registroch. Vyhláška priniesla inú kategorizáciu a nové povinné polia, ktoré treba implementovať do knižnično-informačných systémov. Tieto zmeny si vyžiadali aj vytvorenie nových výstupov z databázy publikačnej činnosti a ohlasov, ktoré reflektujú aktuálnu legislatívu
